It's Yamaha answering the call for glory that is continuing the SV650's legacy, but it's a parallel twin. The new SV is boring and underwhelming.

The FZ07 is a really nice bike. It's odd because it seems like a better package than the FZ09.

If I were going to get something -new- to replace my street SV, I'd get an FZ07.

The only Aprilia I'm interested in is an RSV4 for the track.

The shiver is a neat machine, but rare over here in the states. Would be expensive and annoying to fix when I crash it.

They're pretty good machines for what they cost. Don't fall for the modding meme, but maybe a few hundred on suspension and it will be perfect.

as far as i understand the concept, it's a manual with a fluid plate clutch, you select the gear you want to change to and as it gets to the exact revs for the change it'll clutchless shift into the new gear. so unlik an auto it doesn't choose whatever gear it feels like with lack of response. it's goes to the gear you tell it. none of this d 3 2 1 shit.

that's pretty much why i decided on one, they seem to be a sweet general everyday bike. without any downsides. as much as i'd love a cruiser or bobber etc for the style, the mt-07 has such strong dealer support, mechanics, warranty that not getting something with that much back end going for it just seems silly.

All motorcycles for at least the past 50 years have had a sequential manual, the only people trying to push anything different are honda and most people said "no thanks" back, me included. It actually pretty much sank the VFR1200 because 90% of people didn't even realize you could buy it without the DCT (and it did a low 10's 1/4 mile when you did)

You just described a normal motorcycle transmission in your post, you can clutchlessly shift it into the gear you want.

Man I hate these stupid EU licenses. I've had my CBR500 for almost two years now, I outgrew it after about 6 months and have been dying to upgrade, but can't because of our stupid licensing systems. I have the money right now to sell my Honda and buy an S1000RR or RSV4, except I can't because I can't go unrestricted on my license till September.

Meh bike but god tier engine. It's a shame it's wasted on the VFR really (not that the VFR isn't a good bike at what it does), but that engine is totally wasted in the VFR.
