hey fags, newbie here. no clue on what to do, so i'm just doing every quest the game throws at me and i'm bored out of my mind so far. does it ever start feeling any different or is this gonna be how the game is gonna be for the next 2000 hours? what can i do to break up the monotony?

stop doing every quest the game throws at you, they fucking suck and theyre not even good for XP.

mostly just do the quests for your class/job, and the main story quests (fireball marker quests)

You don't have to do all the sidequests. I wrote a leveling guide in the OP on what you can do besides that I think it's literally just called "leveling guide"

Quest XP was adjusted so that for the most part, you can ignore all of those side quests and just stick with the main story quests. Those sidequests can give decent gear for their level but the MSQ is good enough for that. Once you start unlocking dungeons, make sure to do the leveling dungeon roulette once a day as it gives a hefty chunk of XP. Once you hit 30 you can unlock your advanced job and possibly try out other classes if you're so inclined, as well is maybe dip a little into basic crafting and gathering to see how you like it.
