It's actually because all those effects are supposed to be Fanfare effects, but they removed it from the English version for some weird reason.
In Japanese, those effects are all worded as "Fanfare: Earth Rite:" or "Fanfare: Necromancy (X):".
Since the Japanese version is already future proof against all of that shit (probably unintentionally), the English version had to be worded like that.

So if I'm reading this right, this will reduce all followers to 0, but you're unable to activate fanfare effects that turn. That means, you could wait to the next turn to play a 0 cost Bahamut that still levels the field, right?
