/ng/ - Nioh General

why don't you have 9k HP yet edition

>What does each element do?
nioh.wiki.fextralife.com/Status Effects

>What should I do with the armour/weapons I don't want/use?
Purple/Blue = Disassemble (Then use the blue mats to forge a purple if you have enough)
Yellow/White = Sell or you can give it to the kodamas for amrita and the odd free item.

>What does the summoning candle do?
It returns your guardian spirit to you when you die along with the amrita you collected.

>Should I use soul match?
Honestly, no, not unless you have basically finished the game and have a weapon with some really great stats. As you progress you will get a steady flow of new weapons and armour that is better than what you have. Don't waste your money on soul matching until later.

>Why do people keep mentioning "smithing texts"?
Bosses tend to drop pieces of their armour and weapons when you defeat them. Very rarely they will drop a smithing text which allows you to forge their armour/weapon.

>Which clan should I join? (clan unlocked through progression)
Whichever one has a bonus that you think will benefit your build the most.
Smaller clans receive more rewards in battles.

>Nioh General is dead already
>we never got any good fuku or tome porn
It was a good ride anyway, guys.

this is the hell of falling in love with a niche game

Not surprising really. There doesn't seem to be anything to do once you beat the game, plus they dumbed the game down a lot since the demons, which lowers its appeal.

>they dumbed the game down

no, they didn't

go away

We'll have to wait til DLC and PVP drops I guess.

Also for anyone who has Platted the game, do I have to do the Way of the Strong missions to get the all missions achievement, and how do I unlock the last missions in the Omi region on regular mode?

RIP general. Let it Die lasted longer. I might go back to that game again.

They really did. Hell, they even took out a bunch of enemies that were in the last chance demo.

The alpha build would disagree with you.

You are wrong. I am not sure if you are baiting to keep the general alive a little longer but its time to let go.

Which enemies where those? Webm for the user who wanted to know where they could farm Saisetsu Sake.

except they've only improved on the game mechanically since the alpha by adding skills like short-term passive damage increases for successful ki pulse and weapon switch attack on ki pulse

they also got rid of durability which would have been a total disaster

>they removed enemies tho
more enemies didn't make the game harder, it just made progression slower

There are a ton of missing enemies just in the first area where you are ship wrecked.

It definitely made the game more challenging.

the deed is done

>responding to Luci
C'mon did none of you post in /bbg/

Every general has their very own town faggot.

problem is, its how a general dies and newfags keeps taking the baits and fallacies

>have every crusher title for both ungyo and agyo except for yuki onna

fucking christ
damage-less yamata no orochi was easier than this

I misunderstood you, I thought you meant enemy types. I still don't remember there being a lot of enemies in the starting area, but then again I always pulled one at a time with the stone during the alpha and beta.

Nope, just Way of the Samurai missions including the twilight ones count towards it. There's also one mission locked behind the Dojo Dual Swords mastery mission if you haven't been using those.

Has there been any news about the dlc? Date, content?

nope. their lips are tight.

they've given some info about dlc 1 already

...and they also removed a shitton of enemies off the base game, not even considering NG+.

Take "The Spirit Stone Slumbers" mission for example, the enemy layout from the alpha is heavily nerfed. The game is considerably easier than the alpha and first beta iterations.

So lets brainstorm what would you guys like in future sequels?
I'd that for bows, rifles and cannons to have their own individual ammostock, so if I equip two rifles I have ammo on both and not share it.
Its fine that the store house distributes the ammo though.

As for weapons... should we go Fist of the North Star and get a full martial arts seet with "Gauntlets" as the weapon? I mean we already can fight barehanded.

Living Weapon her to death, homie. You get a whole level to charge that shit. Pop carnage before you walk in, sling a Sloth at her, then slap her on the ass until she falls over.

If she goes for the frost breath attack she'll be left open for yeaaaars.

Also does level up cost ever cap out or does it just keep increasing until it'll take multiple DKR runs for a single level?

i don't want a direct sequel, but all of that could very well be in one of the dlcs. at least 1 new weapon type is already confirmed, so i don't think a few more would be too ridiculous to imagine

>sloth

no thanks

I wanted to have fun.

10 million for a level is the cap. Think you hit that around level 230 or 203, I forget which.

there already is good fuku porn though

end of the month for new missions, pvp and 1st dlc early april

I haven't found much on pixiv yet except a guy drawing all the characters getting gangbanged.

In general it doesn't really seem like eastern or western artists are drawing much of anything for Nioh.

The end of the month stuff, is that the free hard mode missions?

Should be, plus some tweaking I think.

This'll probably be how we see how balance patches will be handled once they start slinging new content around.

Guess I'll see the general come back at the end of the month then. This reminds me of the /kfg/ desu.

can the swordmaster set even roll a full suite of mods for reforging, or is there always that last slot missing one?

That's the most likely scenario, really. A buzz of activity when new content comes in, people master it, and then back to the grave for a bit.

There are worst fates I suppose.

The only things that can fill ALL bonus slots are divine gear that happen to be part of a set. If it's not a set item (like it's just a green generic sword) it'll have one slot missing that is usually dedicated for Set Identification.

And even then, not all items are forged with a bonus in every slot. Fuck, I've even forged Divine +3's with zero bonuses entirely. Pure soul matching fodder, it was retarded.

There's some shenanigans with being able to soul match an Inheritable slot onto a weapon without one, but I'm not sure how it works, seeing as I couldn't get it to work on divine gear.

I don't think the item necessarily has to a set item. I think I've seen gear with two inherent traits (like the Kusanagi Tsurugi) have all their slots filled

Finally got the Yasakani!!
At Sekirahara no less... having 54% Ki Regen is so fucking sweet.

>admitting to being a red memeon

How does reforging and soulmatching work in endgame?

Why on earth do you need that much ki regen?

I'm a 2kat fag who uses Water Sword every chance I get and I don't need that much ki regen

What do you mean? Like how do the +1's work?

Hey dude I gots to go fast.

Discord Abuse.
None stop Low Stance switch from Fire Kusa to Lightning Katana.
I only need on average 3~4 seconds to have every enemy on Discord without worrying about draining my Ki too much (even if I have to block suddenly)

I'm just doing Random visits and pumping Body to last longer to help people out. Some new guys dont know about the Discord effect and I wanted to help out.

Loo Cee Furry

How do the different bonuses and inheriting work?

Inheriting works like this: get to max familiarity with weapon/armor that has the inheritable skill you want, then soul match weapon of your choice with that weapon and it will gain the inheritable skill. This doesn't work with different weapons like you can't soul match a katana with a spear to get a skill. You also have to be levelling the weapon, you can't soul match down to get a skill you want. All armor pieces work with each other.

Bonuses are self explanatory. Reforging is the same as it was before endgame except now you have divine fragments which increase chances of gettin a better skill.

Also, soul matching divine weapons works like this: +1 and +1 gives you +2 and so on up to +10.

Thanks!

So take this first: nioh.wiki.fextralife.com/Reforge

But I'll give you the quick and dirty summary regarding end game

>Different bonuses
Since you have divine shards now, you can press triangle in the reforge menu to use shards instead of Spirit Iron. When using shards, reforging costs more money, but you'll get (on average) better rolls on the rarity of your bonuses AND the quality of said bonuses will be higher.

>Inheriting
Inherited skills can't be rerolled traditionally, and are marked by that double bar symbol. Unlike what that other user said, you CAN inherit skills in between weapon. The fact that I have an Axe, Spear, and Kusari with Change to Attack(Heart) in their inherited spot is proof of this. You need max familiarity to transfer Inherited Skills though. Divines need 999/999, Uniques 900/900, Rares 750/750.

You also need to NOT have a bonus in the same pool already on the weapon in a different slot. So if the weapon already has an element on it, you cannot transfer in a second element UNLESS the element is on the Inheritable slot (wherein it'll be replaced). So if you can't get your CtA: Dexterity to transfer onto your 2kat or some shit, it's because that weapon already has a Damage bonus on it like Close Combat Damage Up, Familiarity Bonus Up, or Enemies Defeated in a different slot.

I don't think they ever intended to have that many enemies in the main game. It would simply be way too many.. They just wanted people to have a lot of time to get used to the combat so they could critique it.

Would have been better if they had launched with the PVP. I think Horizon, Nier Automata and Zelda are going to harm the PVP chances.

They did though. I payed all the demos and Alpha was much more difficult. They nerfed Nue, removed a bunch of Yokai from the map and made Yokai do less damage.

How the fuck do I beat hino enma?

1. Don't die.
2. Hit her till she dies.

Trust me when I say this

Take off your armor. All of it. Blocking will do you no good this fight as you already know by now. The increased agility not only allows for evasion of attacks but a quick moment to get some hits in while she swings her umbrella. I swear on my life it worked for me. Have fun

Is it really possible to get +12 on craftable weapons like Hikoemon Ichimonji? I've never gotten higher than +10.

Are you fucking insane?

For the element i mean.

Apparently elements can roll up to +20 before proficiency bonus.
Highest I've seen was a +13 Earth on a junk Divine 1kat.

I already told you I swear on my life it works. Am i the only one who never fucking blocked until my next playthrough? My first one was ninja build so I just evaded all the damn time but my next playthrough was heavy armor samurai so evading became a pain. Luckilly though heavy armor is pretty much the best option for blocking anyway

The point of the matter is you need speed and ki to evade Hino-enma. It works. For bosses like Yuki-onna you need heavy armor to block since her ice projectiles are impossible to dodge

God I hate yuki onna so fucking much
I just want a demon kings set

>Apparently elements can roll up to +20
Pretty sure the highest is +16 or +17 (+17/18 at level 160) before familiarity bonus.

The craftable ones that have +4 as their base only go up to 12 though (13 at 160).

Highest I've seen is +22 after maxing out familiarity. It was probably a +17/18 at 0 familiarity. MAYBE back when 320 was a thing you could get +20 before maxing out the familiarity?

>It was probably a +17/18 at 0 familiarity
Max familiarity adds a flat +5 so it would be 17. I just wanna know if I'm wasting my time trying to forge a +12 Hikoemon Ichimonji, can't find any info on it and the wiki says +12 is the max but the wiki is shit.

>MAYBE back when 320 was a thing you could get +20 before
Probably this. I never had a 320 so i don't know.

don't bother

an extra point of elemental damage isn't worth the trouble, just settle for 11/16

>Been doing backlog
>Haven't played Nioh in a while
>Decide to rejoin the general and do tori gate
>First guy who invokes me starts summong revs.
>Second guy who summons me dies instantly
>3rd guy who summons me is on ubi zuzu and dies right before the boss door
This game is still full of shitters

I'm running an Omyo set, and dodging the ice shards is generally pretty easy. Though, I do agree that maybe dropping a piece of armor could really help with mobility. Blocking will just negate the damage at the cost of stamina, but I don't think it works on Hino Enma's paralyzing attack. Make sure that you have the anti paralysis needles in your quick select.

What's better: Familiarity damage bonus or Agility damage bonus when you have B agility?

familiarity

i'm running genius strategist, master swordsman, and the skill ki reduction weapon mod, i can water sword an entire big skelly or orochi long before running out of ki.

Does it work on your melee weapon if you have it on a ranged?

Does anybody know what abilities prevent tenacity and shorten recovery time (out of ki) from being reforged? I've spent several million and haven't got them once.

yes actually, a ranged weapon does add to the bonus, if its in your active weapon slot

for your second question, I don't think there are any clashes whatsoever between any purple stats on armor, but some pieces might not allow for the roll altogether

for example, you can only roll elemental damage reduction and damage down while critical on your chest

I don't know what the case is for recovery time, but I'm pretty sure you can roll tenacity on any piece

Thanks mate. Guess I'm just shit out of luck then.

You might have something from the same pool on your equipment

But purple bonuses are retardedly rare. Enemy sense rolls all the time on random loot off the floor, but not once have I managed to reforge it onto my helmets.

>tfw I've rolled enemy sense 3 times while trying to get tenacity and shorten recovery time

I've only gotten Tenacity and Shorten Recovery Time on pants and chest pieces. And never seen them together, so they're probably in the same bonus pool.

Enemy sense is only on helmets and accessories, I think.

Am I able to forge a 160 weapon without using Divine Fragments, and is it entirely random that I do get a 160 to proc, or is there really requirements of having recently beaten a high level mission in the same vein as Cinnabar coast surfing for free Pokemon from the last area you visited?

>Am I able to forge a 160 weapon without using Divine Fragments
Yes, i got all my 160's without divines.
>and is it entirely random that I do get a 160 to proc, or is there really requirements of having recently beaten a high level mission
No idea. I had everything done before i forged 160's anyway.

Does shorten recovery time (out of ki) stack?

>reroll and try that famalam beam and that 2kat with Omyo Magic scaling
>scale my Omyo shit up
>it's utter fucking garbage
>even with confusion your damage is still shit

I even lost some extra 20 levels because I didn't outright spend my Amrita. Feels bad man

how much "elemental" do talismans grant? Does raising omnyo increase the element?

onmyo power affects the base enchant and how long the buff lasts, far as i know.

what spirit always applies element no matter what boss you use it on? daiba?

>When using shards, reforging costs more money, but you'll get (on average) better rolls on the rarity of your bonuses AND the quality of said bonuses will be higher.

For some reason every time I use divine fragments, while true I get rare bonuses the numbers are always at the low end

>Change to Attack (whatever stats) C
>Familiarity Bonus C
>Agility Damage Bonus C-

Never once I see 'B' or 'A' when reforging weapons

No.

Is giving all my armor piece to have inherit Attack the way to go in Nioh?

Only gloves can have inherit attack. You have to craft 4 pieces of inherit attack gloves then soul match them with your other armor.

That's what I'm planning to do. forge 5 gloves with inherit attack and max familiarity 4 to soul match to the other armor pieces

Stupid question, but have you maxed your familiarity with the weapons in question first?

That's the way to go in Nioh.

Weapons not max familiarity.

Even if I max familiarity I would only get a 'B' at most because 'C' (0 familiarity) -> 'B' (max familiarity)

when's the hard mode update?

End of this month.

nice. hopefully it'll be as nice as it sounds

How many reforges should I expect to get the set up I want on divine gear?

depends what stats you're after and if you really NEED max rolls

depends on how autistic you want to get

for a weapon that you consider virtually statistically perfect? 999 divine fragments, 22 million gold and anywhere from 15 minutes to 3 hours of savescumming

that's if you want a weapon that has something like
25% ki red. or 30% guard red.
20% ccd
cta A of the stat you want
24.9% final blow /grapple damage
21 or 22 of the element you want

you get the idea

jeez saika kicks my ass, i throw a blind shell and he is a joke. really wish the description for it was better. didn't think it would be so stupidly effective. he was just shooting wild threw kunai til he got knocked in fire and then he just burned to death.

If you strong attack him when he's in the air he will fall for a final blow. You can do almost nothing the whole fight and win.

How much damage does damage bonus less armor A+ give if you have full armor?
