Fat American Stern Edition *****NEW TO THE GAME?***** Tell us your server and get a referral code from a fellow /wowsg/ to get extra bonus credits/flags/XP and two free premium ships (one instantly, one after you research a T6 ship).
This is an acceptable OP, but I must say I like Yamato-class sterns a lot more.

I prefer them too but I've already used them in the past plenty of times. I like to have a variety since I know not everyone likes the same botes as me, and I'm happy to feature other people's favorite botes since there's plenty of good ones out there.

iirc your surface detect range just expands to your firing range
most of these buffs are targeted at ships that can currently be spotted before they fire
my theory is that thanks to the magic of slavcoding, ships with longer detect range than firing range will actually have their detect range shrink while firing, so they decided to just buff their range

I mean, both air and land combat are exciting in their own way, but it seems like sea combat is destined to be slow and boring no matter how you try to spin it.

Isn't it funny how BB, contrary to common sense, would have the least increases from firing their main guns, with some ships having increases in only a few hundred meters. Working as intended.

It's not like you could shoot at the damn thing if you managed to spot it after being penalized a more logical amount.

Feels like every IJN BB only uses the same build. Two plons, Expert Marksman, Superintendent, Concealment Expert, Adrenalin Rush, Vigilance and 1 skill for whatever floats your bote. Is there any where this is not the case?

A SHIT because she won't come no matter how many resources I pour. Fuck her, and fuck Taihou too.
Don't be a metafag and shoot at max range. Don't be a blockhead and sail towards an enemy pack. Keep it mid-range. Go wherever you team mate goes. Don't bother broadsiding as the front guns are more than enough. Learn to angle
Brayden Jones
>Dispersion is linked to range >Nagato's dispersion will decrease and Colorado's will increase
Hudson Rivera
??? Dispersion say at 10km would be unchanged for both of them. Cone effect.
Nathan Anderson
Dispersion at 18.6km will be exactly the same as it is now
Brody Thomas
>almost 2 years since Open Beta >WG still sitting on their asses on Akagi

Cuz she's kinda a bad ship. The higher muzzle velocity ruins her excellent shells. NC's lower muzzle velocity guns make better use of them.
Brandon Lopez
Don't forget Shinano in alpha and Kitakami in closed beta. WG needs to stop sitting and start doing.
Xavier Wood
Kitakami is a mistake and I'm glad she's not in the game.

As squishy as Kitakami is, she was a problem just waiting to happen. It was teamkills galore.

How is the grind/repetitiveness of this game versus WoT?
t. quit WoT about a year ago
Bentley Rivera
Depends on teams and if you choose to play through stock ships. With a premium account, you could get up a tech tree to Tier 6 in about 2-3 weeks if you wanted.
Adam Ward
I think it's overall less grindy. It helps that lower tiers have a better chance at fighting +2 tiers than in WoT. Also getting 5-kill achievements and daily box drops give you signals flags which are like single-battle prem account XP bonus.
Bentley Allen
If you guys don't see me as your best CV player, I will screenshot all of your forum posts and upload it here.
Carter Morales
ok KotN
Jack Thomas
It's more casual than WoT. It isn't a specific need to grind anything in particular.
You can grind up huge amounts of credits just by playing. If you run premium+permanent camo then even tier 10 is fairly profitable.
Jordan Brown
How repetitive are games?

The ribbons are different colors, so I didn't see fires. Plus, secondaries can catch fires.
James Edwards
>Plus, secondaries can catch fires. exactly. that's why i said there are no secondary hit ribbons.
I've managed to get fires while playing Brit tech tree CLs

what the hell am I even looking at what's with the numbers on the sides?
Nolan Cook
Unfortunately that's not how dispersion works. Although the exact equation is unknown, it isn't linear. You can test this in game most noticeably on the NC. Take a few shots without the Range mod, then take a few shots without it at the same range, you will notice that the dispersion is noticeably higher, at the same range, with the long range mod added. The instinct is that dispersion would be modeled as a trapezoid, with a maximum and set minimum dispersion over a range of ranges, but in reality it's closer to a stack of various wide bricks which makes sense. It's become clear that WGing doesn't like to model linear models, nor do they seem to be capable of gradients. The Armor models on various ships prove this out, doing 'bands' of armor thickness average over that range rather than a true gradient like they were in reality. Dispersion is likely the same way, with discrete "bands" of accuracy at specified ranges, but results in a situation where adding bands makes new, lower bands wider.
TLDR: The mechanics of the game dictate that yes, a range buff DOES equal a dispersion increase at ALL ranges.

Which one? The one that looks like a AMX 50B is one of the new high tier Swedish heavies and the thing in the back is a bastard offspring of an IS7 and IS6 that was thrown in the store to kill off the game some more.
