But first, here is the final English patch (v10) injected into a 1.3 update cia. It's not perfect, but will allow you to go online and run English menus. Capcom shuffled some things around and we can't have translated quests, for now. I'll be back with a fix in the unlikely case there is one.

When converting your save back to X, you may find corrupt shout outs which crash on attempting to edit. Probably because there's a 15 character limit versus our 22. Also, your Event Quests tab may continue to crash even after clearing them in MHX Data Manager. This should resolve both.

1. Export your ExtData with JK's SaveManager and copy its folder from MONSTER_HUNTER_GEN into MONSTER_HUNTER_X

2. Import this to X, then immediately re-export it. Because we'll use the Gen converter to eliminate bad data, but it ignores Gen files.

Copy that save back to your PC and run 'system' through CGen.exe. That resets your Event Quests and returns your shout outs to English Defaults, which still don't display right.

Now run 'system' through Dasding's mhxsavefix.exe to return default Japanese shout outs. You can edit these in-game.

Finally, make sure editing your shout outs doesn't crash and that you can access the Event Quests tab in the hub.

Honestly? It'll probably see decent use, since Energy Blade currently sees plenty of use. Notably, Energy Blade uses less sharpness, but deals less elemental damage.

So it looks like Lao's arena is only 2 areas now instead of 5, an L corridor with the demolisher and the end area with a bridge and the dragonator. Both have ballistas and rail cannons, you can use a binder on Lao, and Lao will actively attack with more than just a shoulder bash. The rail cannon can still load up to 9 cannonballs and you now load it with stacks of 3, though it can in turn only fire 3 at a time. It also has very few stopping points so it's a long way to go if you want to take shots at Lao while it's in transit between them.

Also I have HG earplugs but I still take a shidload of damage when he shouts at me.

Most notably, Lao gets to the final area in about 15 minutes, even after getting hit by the Binder and a handful of flinches, so even if it's still immortal until it gets there, it's no longer a half-hour quest every time.

There were always two N3DS models. North America just didn't get it until much later, everyone else got it.

Funny enough, the PAL MHGen N3DSXL is red and the US one is blue, the opposite of the standard colors in each region.

If you're planning on logging more time on 4U. Generations barely gets any form of N3DS performance boost.

I honestly can't recall if you keep your shouts, I know event quests don't follow you over. But I figure what the heck, why not clean up some of that code since it doesn't take long. You can use this method on an existing MHX save too. Or not. You don't have to if you don't wanna. Waiting until XX to punch in new shout outs myself.
