This was my nigged out car in High school. Though i grew out if that and took all that stuff out.

Less bass but little bit more upper midrange and treble. Little bit higher overall sound quality imo.

I've got a noob question Veeky Forums

My car comes from the factory with a 10 speaker McIntosh system. Speakers are good but there's not enough bass. Can I get the factory sub replaced with an aftermarket sub and get it wired to the McIntosh amp and speakers?

can you find out what amp and sub is called or model number ?

just need to know the rms and ohm of the sub out
also what fuse the amp takes is sometimes a clue as to what the amp is heading towards

the sub is probly some 10" running on less than 100 watts

or more narrow tuneing of the enclosue .eg figureing out what frequecy range you want and only hitting that range

this approch does give more accurate sound but at the cost of efficiency

as a matter of perferance they cut pritty much the entire mid and low range
pioneer is very like this unless you specifically go out of your way to get particular parts

component is good for anything above 400 hz
below this direction matters less
and at the lower frequency's the wave length is longer than most cars .ie your too close to hear it

a $500 upgrade to any car's factory radio puts it miles ahead of even the best bose system.

Pioneer has good audio quality. The big plus is that it also has good pricing, so you also end up with bang for the buck.

i use the ones that came with my car because im not a visible minority
