RWD cars were phased out for a reason. Only impractical women and gay men continued using them after the FWD drivetrain became preferable. They didn't know any better, but you should if you're a normal man.

Isn't that the death trap which throws the engine on your lap if you crash into something

nevermind, that's a different truck/vehicle youtube.com/watch?v=uykStESm3vw

wow, rilly makes u stink

>the FWD drivetrain became preferable
Not to the drivers. It just became cheaper to manufacture with unibodies and subframes.

>130 horse power
>4 gears with overdrive
>Gear ratio is absolute shit
>Top speed is 130 km/h but over 110 it has a slight risk of vibrating into to another dimension

It's however built like a tank and is built with love so it's reliable even after 25+ years.

>volkswagen shit

no thanks

Dd an 86. Can confirm. Absolutely love it for some reason, may be Stockholm syndrome

...

Sure, it's slow. Nobody who owned one will ever deny that. But it's so damn fun to drive regardless.

>Underpowered
>Cheap
>Fun
>Spacious
>Reliable

Only one thing springs to mind.

mine is 118 hp
5sp manual
i pushed it to 180 and it carried on

i love it

100hp never felt so good

>all trac hood

wew

I got it with the car, but it should come in handy once it has a 3sgte under the hood

Here's my other smellica
Tfw normies think it's an 86

Just try to prove me wrong.

Pic related, a friend has one as a weekend car, it's absolute bonkers.

>produces 29hp max
>has moped-tier wheels
>built like a tin can
>almost 45° of body roll in sharp turns
>you can track them by the oil smell

It instantly puts a smile on my face when I see one on the road

>Cheap
That example would fetch almost 10k here
If you want to spend less than $3k you're replacing floor pans and repainting it, minimum.

There is nothing cheap about type 1s or Super Beetles.

You will pay fucking 8-15k for a good example. 20k for a pristine one.

My dad and I bought it with the body restored in Cali and had it trucked here to WI. We just recently rebuilt the engine because part of a valve guide somehow got inside the cylinder.

It runs very nice now, but I leaned on a fender when we were dropping the engine and opened up a big crack the guy didn't weld. And when we were raising it back up, it dented and chipped the paint of the middle apron thing below the hood.

What car?

I forgot to say, it was like $4500.

PT Cruiser. Slow, cheap, roomy, and fun as fuck to abuse.

You are very lucky.

I live in the midwest so if I want one I have to buy from Cali through a classic car dealer.

A lot of stuff had to be fixed. Thing is, it's a '69 and they don't make reproduction front turn signal lenses for that year. We ended up finding them randomly in a free parts box at an air cooled VW festival.

I have a savings account I put a few hundred bucks in every couple months.

Going to start looking for a '63 when I have about 12-15k

>Under-powered
Oh yes, definitely.

>cheap
Right up until it breaks. And it WILL break spectacularly, because VW.

>and fun.
Not if you have to fix it. See above.

What is that? A Micra?

I actually had one at a point, it was eggplant purple (pic related) however they have VERY bad transmissions

yes

a60 celica

Very cool.

Brother. We meet again.

...

Put a bigger engine or tune the current one (just not the 1.0 ENDURA-E, they're meh) and you got a pocket rocket right there.

>Stockholm Syndrome
>Volvo is straight out of Sweden

Nice reference.

...

What are these pretty things?

>Pic related
Bought mine for 2 grand, and I'm about to throw a small block V8 in it on the cheap.

>flashy but basic color
>no shitty aftermarket wheels
>big headlights
>cheap
>soon to be fast

I love it, keep at it.

3 gears with overdrive not 4

Well I saw an ad on CL for a 740 with a 4 speed and a push button for "fifth", so I think that's what he's talking about.

Third gen Honda Preludes

It's a great car, why bait like this tho?
I will own a mk1 rabbit some day, too many cars to justify buying one rn tho

They have partial rear wheel steering, right? How does that affect tight corners?

>50kW that feel more like 100kW due to low weight
>under 10k new
>~2000 used
>cheap to inshure
>14" 155mm tires
>4,5L/100km
>can´t get worse than 8L/100km
>Toyota relieability
>only 20€ muffler rusts out every 10 years
>850kg weight, but can loose about 100kg in rear seats and full siezed spare wheel
>wheelspinn to 50km/h
>no electronic AIDS except for ABS
>optional power steering
>goes faster than speedometer can show
>feels fast at any speed
>engine sounds way more powerfull than it is
>top speed in 4th gear, 5th gear is overdrive
>can change direction on every road without reversing

>230hp
>3000€ for a driving one
>50/50 weigh ballance
>rwd
>low weight

Anyone know what kind of car this is?

That was an option, sadly my third gen doesn't have it so I can't say. From what I've heard, some say it feels more like a RWD in corners but others say it just improves handling. It's a mixed bag

It costs way too much to get a 3sgte under that hood. I've looked into it for my 90 celica st

That's a subaru xt nigga

Old VW golf/cabriolet's are fun cheap cars, slow as fuck but I miss mine.

First gen Pontiac Firefly, a Canadian rebadge of the Suzuki Cultus/Swift.

>cheap

where? They are incredibly overpriced in europe.

Fun, yes. Slow? Absolutely. Cheap? Not if you want one that actually has four wheels and an engine. The cheapest one I've seen for sale was $1900, and it had one of the old ass diesel engines for some god forsaken reason.

my nigga

Ouch. I bought mine here in Canada for $400 back in 2013. Ran find and had 170,000km when I bought it. The interior was pretty clean besides the torn front seats.

Oh shit, they look so alike

>$400
>40 whole horsepowers
>0.8L petrol
>0.7-ish tonnes
>70:30 weight distribution without passengers
Was lots of fun. Until rust ate it up

This one is cute! CUTE!

Im sure its great but thats so absurdly hideous i would never want to drive one.

I've seen you around nigga

where?
in this shithole im living in they cost at least 12000€

Light and Slow is the only way I roll.
If a car has over 250hp I don't want to drive it.
Same reason I ride a 125. Way more fun.

Fuck that, Rover V8/Buick 215 swap it.

It's got two better looking sisters. Mechanically they're identical.

that old crappy econobox from the '70s certainly isn't fun
funny, yes
fun, no
>0-100 in 16 seconds if you're lucky

>~2000 used
Where I live you can't find one under €5000 (five thousand) and if you do they've hit 300k km. Fucking prick women and beta men retards who sell those turds just because they look "new".

my nibba
i used to drive one for a year
dead reliable, usues no gas at all, can do burnouts because it had insane torque on low revs
tyres were squealing on every corner
handled like shit but that was the fun part
had a cute rear spoiler
damn i miss it

GEO

At least those are really cheap where I live, also, really fun to drive, specially off road

Wait, when the fuck did Toyota made a partnership with PSA?

Overpowered, cheap, and fun.

Subaru XT, OP is a fag

what do opel, nissan and renault had in common?
this turd

for some reason it's a thing to badge engineer vans and shitboxes in europe

>5000€
>for a sub 10.000€ msrp car
>that has run serveral 100.000km
Where the fuck du you live?

I mean those, wich are 80.000km+ on the original engine but still run.

>12000 euros for an RX8
Here you can get a fucked one for £600 and up, ones that run start at £1500

I swear old Volvo's are the only cars from the 70s and 80s that I still regularly see on the road. Not even as classics either, but just someone's DD that has never given up.

...

>The body roll during the drift acts like a diffusor and gives you downforce

>the duck

FRS and Miata

B11 Sunny / Nissan Sentra
>Under powered
>Cheap
>Fun

Was the most enjoyable car I've owned so far.
>69hp from the factory
>LONG GEARS, Second would take you up to 65mph @ 6500
>1800lb curb weight, ridiculous mpgs even when driving like a jackass
>Once achieved 60mpg driving considerately

It was the lightest car I've owned. Everything else has just felt so heavy it's unbelievable.
>Drop down to second at 55mph
>Kill ignition for 3-5 seconds, keep the throttle wide open
>Turn the key forward for the world's greatest backfire
>Once lost my muffler doing this driving by a friend's house

Being a juvenile delinquent was fun.

It's much more intensive in an ST than a GT, look it up.

2002 TPCA

The gold standard of cheap FWD shitboxes.
