slower than a V6 mustang and costs more

gay meme engine

at least it can turn

>faster than the original 86
>implying being faster than a 30 year old economy car means anything

It can?

I thought the reason the origional 86 was popular, atleast before Initial D, was because it was really fun to drive despite being slow

I'd still rather have gt86.
Or original 86.

Was it popular before Initial D? I thought whoever wrote the manga chose it because it was a very clear underdog car that any regular person could have.

Since when can a fucking mustang turn???

Thhe guy felt like he was gonna die. It's not like you can go full speed if you're off the track anyways, so you might as well pick the more fun option

>BRZ on space savers and low roll resistance prius tyres from factory only 0.03-0.05g's behind stangs mag lateral G
>Entire lap this 2 cylinder 0.4l jap econobox only 1.3 seconds behind stang
>on garbage can lids covered with condoms
It can turn amazing.
Put stang on the same wheels and tyres and see what happens.

>muh muh you're not allowed to change tyres or wheels on your own car!!!!!!!

>300 freedom loving HP
>icon of american freedom independence and manlyhood
>beats a econobox with "best of eurobeat" mixtape CD's for wheels by only a second and half

toyobaru punches up so hard it isn't funny

The brz doesn't come with primus tires it comes with summer slicks

The gt86 comes with garbage all seasons primus tires

Probably worth noting that there's a 700 lb difference.

I'm surprised they didn't take a minivan around the track seeing as its faster than a brz

Faster than a Miata

And an S2000

Anyone here daily drive a brz? I've been thinking about it.

And the Tesla model S
jalopnik.com/heres-what-a-tesla-model-s-can-do-around-the-nurburgrin-1600644908

youtube.com/watch?v=bXuGhEE8t1U

but then you'll have a V6 Mustang... So GT86 it is

I daily a zzw30 fine.
toyobaru should be easier

So
The ae86 performance was similar to the NA miata
And the brz/gt86 performance is similar to the new miata
It all makes sense now

How is the snow?
I plan on getting new winter tires if I do end up getting the brz for when that time comes.

>I don't understand the unwarranted hate for this car.

Basically their parents minivan is marginally quicker in a straight line on a prepared drag strip than an automatic GT86 with 97bhp less than the van.

Ergo the 86/BRZ is shit and we should all be toogay'ing in minivans as they're the superior car.

tl'dr amerikeks missing the point once again

Daily reminder

Only bench racers hate it.
I'm not even a weeb or a fan of japanese cars and it's a perfectly fine base for a project. No worse than any other car.

Moving those goalposts all ready, user?

people daily snap overmeme proffessional race driver murder machines known as "sw20" fine through our -30c 3ft of snow winters.
Just put on PROPER studded winter tyres (get steelies or keep original wheels for winter use and get wider, lighter aftermarket ones for summer)
Practise on parking lots on how to drive and you should be fine.

Everyone dailies their cars no matter fwd, awd, rwd, MR or RR throughout the year. It's always the SUV's, french cuckboxes and shit that crash because the drivers are stupid.
Just practise and get to know your car and you'll be fine.
Only thing that causes accidents is shit driving.
Unless you're Mrcummy in which case random acts of god test your skill

You are a turd

A stock gt86/brz isn't impressive
But it's the jdm tuners (drift)car of the future

v6 stang is going to be in a class above toyobaru in race environment and toyobaru is still competetive outside pro series for stock cars.

I'd say that is really fucking impressive.

I'd say the fact that someone made a lightweight FR car to be tuned the shit out of and purely for hooning with focus on great driving feel is quite impressive.

Also how many car of the year awards it has.

one of the guys from Everyday Driver dailies his up in Utah I believe and he said he gets around in the snow just fine, even made a video about it

Second daily reminder

4 years and they still haven't fixed that fucking torque Canyon

It's probably really garbage in anything that's more than a light dusting

It's super light and like 2 inches off the ground its every recipe for bad snow handling

I would consider stowing it in the winter instead of driving it

>muh torks

Because it's actually a Subaru with Subaru engine.
youtube.com/watch?v=PH6Qf-yDtTU

>defending a shit engine

>its faster than a car that was meant to be slow
86cucks are so good at moving goalposts

It's not even a shit engine. The same engine is used in the wrx and that platform has no torque dips or anything

WHO WOULD WIN?

>muh fun

The minivan

>honda artificially destroys engine performance below top 10% of rev range
>heralded as greatest invention of mankind, has its own catchphrase, is printed on shirts and memed out of existance
>toyobaru has a 20lb/f torque dip between 3.5 - 4.5k rpm
>a area you cover in first gear faster than you can blink
>a area you aim never to dip to in performance environment
>an area 3.5k revs below redline
>an area even decent gear changes avoid
>a dip you wouldn't propably feel in real life
>worst catastrophie since 9/11
Suck a cock.
You have nothing but minor nitpicks on this great car and you can't handle the fact that everyone loves this car. So you have to hate on it to seem as a "true enthusiast" when in reality you are a benchracer. Because torque dip shows up on paper and all your racing experience is based off the shit you read on internet.

The minivan only won because he cheated, dumbass. Look at the first two seconds of the race

Holy kek that damage control

>actually, legitimately defending a fucking torque dip in her "sports" car
How delusional can 86fags get?

>americans
>can't handle manuals
>can't handle snow

maybe its time to have real driver tests and real liscences for drivers instead of whatever the fuck you have now.

Think of it, you'd get to enjoy nice cars in winters and you could stop complaining about 90% of the drivers since they wouldn't get a liscence.
You might even be able to start using the left lane again

But dagumiiii :DDDDD

>car advertised as having 200hp
>only makes 170

You don't even get snow in your rainy socialist Island of britbongistan

What would you know about living in Buffalo New York under 4 feet of snow every year?

Bullshit. If I can drive an old civic in the snow there's no reason a BRZ can't do it.

>heh, that mustang can't even turn
>well, its actually punching above its weight because the mustang is above the toyabaru's class anyway

>great car
Holy fuckk

Your old civic is an ff and superior for snow driving because of it

>bunch of busriders thinking they can gauge a car just based off easy numbers and pretty colored pictures on internet

Why don't you try driving it? You might like it?

>n-numbers don't matter!!1
Stay delusional. Your "performance" car cannot perform

I live in north europe, 5ft snow each year minimum.

I drive it in rFactor against the original 86 and I just won

I use all-seasons, so putting winter tires on a BRZ probably closes the gap

>I live in made up land where I make up how much snow falls
>I drive a car that would get shit on by the emissions tax

>honda artificially destroys engine performance below top 10% of rev range
What? Pic related a Honda civic si

I'm picking up a new 2017 GT86 from the dealer on Monday in automatic and I can't wait
please shit on me I love it
>Yuropoor
>thinking he has a say in anything
kek

It is according to everyone with credibility.
And no, anonymous busriding autists on a chinese ramen discussion board don't matter.
Stay delusional, toyobaru is the darling child of the cheap lightweight enthusiast car world next to miata.

No wonder benchracers would hate an enthusiast car. Because they've never driven anything other than their moms SUV.
On the backseat.

Everyone outside of autists on Veeky Forums love it. Deal with it. Should've picked an easier target like mustang or something.

But I guess understand picking on something great instead of something shit. It makes the sour grapes easier to handle.

>burgerfat
>thinking they can say anything after their domestic auto industry shat the bed so many times for creating garbage that they had to enforce a 25 year import ban
>an entire nation which glorifies drag racing and automatics

kek

>next to miata.
>literally admitting her car is worse than a miata
Lmao how dumb can you get

>Implying you can get the performance package on a current v6 mustang.

You're a fucking hipster when you attempt to stratify some difference between enthusiasts who actually tune their cars to go fast and care for their cars performance abilities measured in these forms of benchmarks and "benchracers" who you want to claim is everyone that doesn't agree with you even though theyre the enthusiasts you claim to defend

>200hp
>massive torque dip
>not an easy target

I mean, I guess if you are going to call the toyota 86 a sports car than the kia forte koup is as much of a sports car.

Kia forte koup: 201 hp 195lb/ft

Toyobaru: 200hp 151 lb/ft

BTFO on paper by a fucking 1.6L kia.

All the buyers remorse FRS/BRZ on craigslist right now, enjoy your 2 door corolla frs fags!

It's not even 200hp its 170

Daily reminder

Still the most powerful NA 4 cylinder you can buy these days

>this other retarded car has a torque Canyon that means its A-OK for another one to have it even though there's no reason to ever want or have one

>Yuropoor
>thinking they have a say after they tax there vehicles so hard it's near impossible to drive them, plus emissions, plus absolutely no modding allowed or that's another large fine
>an entire nation that glorifies public transportation because they can't even afford cars
kek, when does your bus pass expire user?

>BTFO on paper

Guys, I found the busrider

Not really, the 2014 civic si used a 2.4l which made 210 and a lot more torque (with no torque Canyon either)

DELETE THIS RIGHT NOW

Are you fucking retarded? Have you ever heard of the Honda S2000?

It's 2017 m8

Can you send me a link for a new s2k pls??

>It's 2017 m8
The brz has been using the same engine and still has the same awful torque dip since 2012

The 2017 civic si is a 2.0l turbo and I guarantee you that makes a fuck ton more torque and power still

See

86 owners are deluded enough to think their their 2 door corolla is faster than an S2000

Now thats a new low.

>false flagging THIS hard

If I wanted power and torque I wouldn't have bought a brz, or a civic si for that matter

People on here act like the torque dip isn't easy to get rid of. This car was basically made to be modified and people on here still get upset that the lightest rwd coupe you can buy with a Manuel transmission isn't perfect out of the box for 25k

Wow, what an amazing accomplishment

>have to pay another $1000 on new headers right after buying it

Nah, fuck that.

>People on here act like the torque dip isn't easy to get rid of
>having to modify your car just so it's not crippled
Holy fuck how do you people defend this piece of shit?

...

>this car was basically made to be modified

Thank you for actually recognizing the point of the GT86.

>we want a light, RWD, sporty car with a manual transmission that we can modify
okay here's a great chassis, an economical engine that's related to an engine that has a massive amount of aftermarket, and a manual transmission
>cool thanks
>why is this engine weak
it's really not, it's got 200hp
>but a Mustang has 420hp
but you asked for a light RWD car with a lot of aftermarket potential
>yeah we did
well here you are
>but why is the engine weak
........

I swear, car enthusiasts can be the dumbest people on the planet.

Seriously dude? Delete this shit

>we want a slow piece of shit
Wow

How much HP do you think you can get out of that engine? I haven't seen more than 450 which makes me think it's better to swap when you need more power

>Implying any brand new car for 25k doesn't need to be modified in some way or another to make the most of the platforms potential.

There is no perfect driver's car for 25k new.

>slow piece of shit
Thank you for submitting your review, this window will close in 3, 2. 1....

>need more power

You guys are crazy. I'm not even going to address the fact that you said 'need' and instead I'm going to ask if you have ever even driven a car with 400 horsepower. If you're on the highway and just doing 2nd and 3rd gear pulls then anything south of 800hp is going to seem like it needs more power. But when you're actually a road that's worth some spirited driving (read: not many straight bits) a car with 400 horsepower is pretty indiscernible from a car with 300hp (or even 200hp granted you're good at connecting the apexes).

That's the funniest part about this whole shitfest concerning the GT86 powertrain. It's not an AMG that was built to cruise at 130mph all day long, or a GT500 that can nail 10 second passes, it's literally a car that was engineered to only encounter straight roads when it was traveling to and from the touge.

If all of your driving takes place on freeways, then of course the GT86 isn't the sports car for you.

But there is better.

A new ecoboost mustang is the same price at around 25k new and even 18k for a lightly used one, and 4 seconds quicker lap time at willow. Mustang takes 87 secs frs takes 91.

And it does 0-60 in 5.2 while a toyobaru takes 6.5 secs on average kinda sad figure. And the turbo 4 on the stang is easily and cheaply tunable while an N/A engine takes thousands of dollars to get like 50 more horsepower.

If you don't mind the extra weight, the mustang 4 pot is a faster and more comfy DD.

> if you have ever even driven a car with 400 horsepower.
You give 86 fans a bad name. Yes, there are vehicles out there with more than 400 fucking horsepower. Not everyone drives a civic. Jesus.

"Muh touge" doesn't mean you can't make the car faster if you want to. Like you said, it's a platform for modifying, like a poor man's Supra.

>posting 0-60 times when talking about better sporty cars

It's like 2010 all over again.

You're talking about driving experiences between a car that weights 2800lbs and one that weighs 3400. Unless you enjoy dusting Civics off the line, there's no point in buying a Mustang.

literally everyone drives a mustang
it's the new midlife crisismobile
