There is no reason to have Innefficient v8 engines when a turbo v6 does the same job with better fuel economy

The Mercedes S-Class for example (I know it's not a tiny diesel but still) In the US you can have the S550, S600, S63 and the S65. None are Diesel. But in the developed world we get the S300 and the S350 which are diesel. The S400 Hybrid, and the S500 Hybrid as well as the ones in the US which are all gasoline.

Americans don't want to drive slow cars the "only" do 0-60 in 10 seconds, but let's face it who really takes their car to the max on an on ramp anyway.

I agree with no reason to daily a V8 but i don't necessarily agree with a V6 being able to do exactly the same job. there are freak-show V6s out there that could probably surpass the average V8 in every way but in some cases like with Ford's Ecoboost it isn't going to ever propel the Ford GT to near 300mph like the Modular series can. it doesn't get better fuel economy than its turbo V8 rivals in the super car class (Ford GT) as well.

I daily my v8 ~30k miles a year. It gets ~28 on the highway.

Displacement tax wouldn't help much. if anything the military budget needs to be cut down drastically as I've come across several people in the Navy on Veeky Forums who joined just to get paid shit loads of money to sweep the deck and do the occasional military exercise while their goal is to pick up souvenirs or grope local japanese school girl's asses.

Why we are protecting Isreal at all is beyond me. all the source of their problems is from religious differences and disputes of who actually spiritually owns that piece of desert. id be fine with them completely telling the entire middle eastern region to fuck off and come to the states or any western country. Jews are mostly peaceful people who keep to themselves anyway and most of them in Isreal live like Americans and are already well off so they wouldn't be on any welfare wherever they went.

Drug war should be ended altogether. Drugs should be legal and taxed.

$1600 a month with all your housing, food, utilities, health care, etc. covered and taken care of is pretty decent money, considering apartments around here start at $700/month for a single room in a house with a shared bathroom and no on-site laundry, and to make $1600/month you have to make about $4/hour more than local minimum wage.

They also have programs, not sure if they apply to deployments, but they definitely apply for basic training, where if you have evidence of paying rent for a place to live, they'll give you the cost of the rent on top of your regular pay, so you can have a place to live when you get back. A lot of people just make up a receipt for $1000+/month for living in their mothers basement and keep it.

First off champ, america doesn't sell cars in yurop because yuropeans don't buy too many cars per capita. They have shit ass subsidiaries that sell shit ass europeans cars.
Second, there are a lot more car buyers in america so while BMW may sell a lot more 3 series in the US, per capita its not as impressive counting Toyota might sell 100 corollas for every 3 series leased and then sold 3 years later.

depends on weight of car, but as a general rule yes a 1000hp car is better than a 500 hp car. It's unlikely one is 50% lighter than the other.

Ford sells A LOT of cars here, because they are designed and made in Germany (excluding the Mustang). This. Im a Modular fan but up until the Coyote/Voodoo they were btfo by the LS family. What was the point of DOHC in the 5.4 when your stroke is so long that you can't rev. Too bad the LS engines are so unreliable and poorly built LS7/LS9 aside. Great design though.

Ignoring the obvious fact that Lambo, Ferrari, Bugatti, etc. make engines that get approximately 7 mpg, let's take a look at the BMW M6. It has LESS displacement than the current V8 Mustang and a twin turbo and it still manages to get worse gas mileage. Plus, being a European engine, it'll likely explode after about 30,000 miles. Not only are their engines less efficient, they are shit quality as well.

My best friend just bought a Gt350, he spent 2 years on a boat in the Marines as "Deployed" got deployment pay, Sea pay, ontop of regular e5 pay.
