First for being perched at the very precipice of oblivion
Henry Brown
Thread is dead, baby. Thread is dead.
Nolan Sanders
>Tfw you send your PD to the brothel to relieve some stress and she ends up refusing to leave for three weeks straight Why the fuck are all my characters sexual deviants?
Christopher Green
Is it worth /dadg/? Should I just bring a standard champion mark team?
Nicholas Richardson
The trinket is ehh, the main point is killing the nest and getting gems from it. The shrieker has 3 moves, so all dots and marks fall off him in a single round. It also has 60 dodge but no prot, and killing it yelds no benefits.
Thomas Rodriguez
It's not really worth it except for completionist goals.
Arbalest - HM - HM - Hellion reks it so easily that it's basically a gimme, though.
Grayson Moore
just bring a good healer, MAA, and people who can hit 3rd position. MAA nonstop dodge buffs and guards if anyone is dying, everyone else focuses nest (or heals if they're dying) and ignores the shrieker entirely. build entirely for dodge, hope you can kill the nest in 4 turns so you can get that fat money. and whatever you do DO NOT stun the shrieker
Ayden Allen
You know those vapours aren't just for emboldening.
Ryder Ross
It's a really solid trinket on certain units if you do dark runs.
Angel Stewart
>Char.Crimson You guys have to watch Chris's twitter more, that's where all the real teasers are.
Jayden Myers
What the hell DOES that last file say? It looks like "Char.Crimson.Croc.psd"
Samuel Nguyen
What if there's a new swamp area? Would make since with the mosquito emblem on the teaser art.
Jaxson Torres
Because i'm a casual, i wanted to install the level restrict removal thing, but it seems it's outdated.
How do i do that manually? I tried editing quest.restrict.json and roster.variables.json to be similiar to the modded restriction file, but my level 6 heroes refuse to enter lower level dungeons than champion
Thomas Russell
For future reference you should play on Radiant mode. The level restrictions on that are so lax they're basically non-existent. If you want it in your current game then I believe the soft-launched DD workshop has a mod for that.
Jason Baker
Would also explain the filename and the seemingly barren and murky area featured in the Fanatic's reveal art.
Asher Bennett
i have the gog version, does the key work for steam?
Aaron Edwards
He does like to tease the most out of the staff.
Jackson Diaz
bought the game on steam, how do i enter the workshop? i joined the group, but do i have to be invited in to the workshop beta or something?
Samuel Johnson
please don't make it die again
it was so lonely without you guys
Asher Roberts
We can always move to /indie/ and start /dadg/ back up when Crimson Court comes out.
Blake Brooks
>wants to mod the game >to poor to own it on steam own it in steam
Ethan Brown
I finished all the roster goals (raise every type of hero to level 6) and it gave me the Caretaker goals achievement even though I still have a bunch of quest goals unfinished. Is it supposed to be like this?
Jackson Robinson
anyone?
Hunter Jackson
>Bring two occultists with weakening curse to prophet >Laugh as he spams his 0 damage attack and your Leper slowly knocks down all his barricades Knock knock motherfucker
Zachary Murphy
I've seen a couple other people report the same thing, so I guess so.
Juan Diaz
>can't move them anywhere for some odd reason >attack name still stuck up there even after i killed her son of a witch just cursed me in place
Tyler Russell
Post yfw now ever enemy that leaves behind a corpse also has a deaths door state
Ryan Edwards

Luis Long
>he listens to the OST What are you user, gay!? Post your best dungeon-delving songs and albums. >pimping the siren to this: youtube.com/watch?v=r0WMoWW1sFs
Michael Ramirez
What happens if you stun it?
Christian Perez
Not that user, but I'm assuming they're referring to its timer. The Shrieker normally leaves after 4 whole rounds of combat, but if you stun it then the timer shifts and it stays longer, which you don't want if you're just going after the nest because he'll just keep waling on your guys.
Logan Morgan
People say that if you stun the shrieker, it won't run away and you'll have to beat it normally (it still counts as a victory if it flees) but I don't know if that's actually true or not.
>Short Apprentice Ruins Skirmish just to reroll otherwise shitty missions >Xbow-nigger, WORST girl, Hellion and Finale-Jester ragtag team >buy only food >snuff out the torches >eat some serious damage >finish the mission after 7 battles, whole team under half hp (hahahahaha fuck healing) >MISSION COMPLETE! >what's in the last room tho? >FUCKING SHAMBLER SPAWNS, first time he's ambushed me in the pitch black >Xbow-nigger shuffled to the front, Hellion to the back >Still nuke that faggot down in 3 turns >meanwhile xbownigger gets clapped and WORST girl gets heart attack >wrap it up and count my losses, got AncMap tho
Worst girl is GR btw, she's so fucking shit lmfao prove me wrong gayboys
I mean I guess she's shit if you hate nonstop critting and dodging and outspeeding everything, but you're still doing apprentice so I'm not surprised
Alexander Bell
>crit with GR >it still deals singledigit dmg AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, and you can't read it seems
Asher Lopez
>single digit dmg uh, I'll actually need a screenshot for that because I've never had that happen even in apprentice
Joseph Perry
It was a joke my man, I didn't expect you to actually give a fuck, are you autistic? Serious question, are you on the spectrum?
Xavier Hernandez
jesus christ, please go back to /v/ and stop shitting up the thread
Asher Evans
>the shriekers Shrieking Flight kills one of your heroes
Ayden Lewis
>call autist autist >autist calls you /v/
Christopher Robinson
It's always worth doing Shrieker missions. Your job is simple: 1. Break the nest for the free loot 2. Survive 4 rounds.
It's free money, shrieker trinkets, grace/eye quirks and a chance to recover lost trinkets; done in under 3 minutes. So long as you have teams that can hit hard and survive, it's basically a DD version of Pass Go.
Brayden Long
Please go and stay go.
Chase Torres
Ok, sorry if I've offended or angered any of you in any way.
Jacob Diaz
>me discover DD >checking rule34 >barely anything about them >Nothing on the Nomad merchant
There can be no hope in this hell, no hope at all.
Justin Jackson
Hello famulan, is this monster enough of an asshole for you guys? This is the variant for dungeons lvl 3-4.
Looks great, it gives a new element of an enemy party designed specifically for harassment which makes them a new kind of persistent combo when you encounter them. If you're adding variants, make sure they come with a good gimmick compared to their original.
Don't add Rabies through, it would make them redundant and annoying since they would just be a stronger hound.
Juan Martin
i might make more if i have any more awful ideas and can get my hands on some of the memeier and longer templates
Evan Harris
This. Also be careful with the healing they get on damage. It's a nice change of pace and I think there could stand to be more enemies with abilities like that, but it's a tricky balance.
Wyatt Gomez
Depends. If you're planning on using him more in the Weald/Warrens/DD then yes. If you use him all over the place then eh.
Liam Peterson
I would, especially if you plan on sending him to DD2 or DD3.
Joshua Stewart
Dont worry, they can't give you rabies, the faith healer you see in the back on the other hand is adept at applyng minor annoying quirks like dacnomania, deviant tastes, necromania, dark temptation etc.
yhea, as it stands right now they are a "one shot or don't even bother" type of enemy.
Thanks, mate, but mfw there's more caretaker smut than Nomad merchant smut tho...
John Wright
I might as well lock it in. I'm fucking done stalling this since I'm about to kill my last boss before DD. 126 weeks in and I'm just collecting stronger heroes. I have almost everything I need and 500k sitting at the bank with nothing but quirk purchases to eat it up. I'm so burnt out on this game. By the time I complete this run, I won't have motivation to start anew before CC hits.
Benjamin Jenkins
Not sure why kek'd
Austin Cook
Nigga there's Nier Automata right now followed by Dark Souls 3 DLC next week.
This is basically the lull before the DLC is out.
Nathan Ramirez
>Nier Automata Tempted to buy it and know nothing of it. Is it good as advertised and what am I in for? I can't wait for the DS3 long awaited patch on Friday since it could potentially change everything.
Easton Harris
Shouldn't it be beast/eldritch since they've got those eyes n' shit on them?
>the faith healer you see in the back on the other hand is adept at applyng minor annoying quirks like dacnomania, deviant tastes, necromania, dark temptation etc.
You're a piece of shit and I hate you forever.
Jacob Walker
That might actually be nice if you're trying to cycle through negative quirks for something.
Eli Reed
>DS3 long awaited patch Nani the fuck are you on about, friend? Some major tweaks to gameplay, not just preparation for the DLC? Tell me more.
It's the 'fix everything' the patch. It's as significant as the Poise patch we got a few months ago which drastically change how some things work and the meta was largely adjusted.
This gen is dead af if we're talking about another game entirely. I will start making new threads when CC hits.
Jason Phillips
Seconded on the beast/eldritch change. It always bugged me in the base game that the Tentacle Devourers weren't considered that as well.
Juan Reed
Probably better to do that then.
Alexander Lopez
How do I know when I'm ready for the Darkest Dungeon?
I have a lot of level 6 heroes but my trinkets don't feel like they're that great compared to what I see others have. I don't wanna rush in and just get crushed.
Jonathan Brown
If you're not on Stygian, it's better to prepare exhaustively. This means collecting trinkets you're 100% confident in, and even grooming heroes with advantageous / optimal quirks.
Joshua Martin
I'm on default. I guess I'll finish some champion level bosses and collect their trophies and lock in some positive quirks before I go up for it.
Jace Lopez
Don't forget the homoerotic fanfictions. Bourassa is the main artist of the game in case you didn't know.
Luke Lee
K, it has been done.
Now I'm working on a very low hp high protect hight dodge% ghost unit whose attack is a 0 dmg 5 stress that stacks dodge chance and sets up a riposte that triggers only if you miss while attacking him.
Logan King
Sounds interesting. How will you convey that their riposte only procs on a miss though?
Carter Nguyen
Well the ghost could just have 1hp, can't riposte if it's dead.
Leo Miller
convey? you just code it.
>.on_hit false >.on_miss true
that would be the way to do it if the engine didn't had you covered.
????
Brayden Diaz
Obviously you just code it, but that doesn't mean it's clear people using your mod. It works differently than typical Riposte and should be conveyed as such, because that information will directly affect how your players approach the situation.
Jeremiah Peterson
yhea, but hitting a 3hp dude for 1 tree times is a much more quantifiable kind of success rather than having a 1hp dude with 80% dodge that makes your encounter feel like a rng fiesta.
In any case, the name of the skill can be enough to imply the dealio.
Asher Garcia
I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying. Riposte typically works whether the person with the effect gets hit or not. A riposte that only activates when it misses is a different effect, and needs to be conveyed to the player as such or else they will only understand through trial. Trail learning is good for certain things, but I don't think it's good for establishing a nearly mechanically similar effect with a slight difference. I do agree though that a higher prot encounter with low HP is a better measure than something with insanely high dodge. It's part of the reason why people might find the Horrid Shrieker more difficult to damage than the Swine God, despite the latter's comparatively massive lastability.
Ethan Hall
yhea I understood my friendo, like I said, the name of the skills displayed when the enemy sets the riposte is more that enough.
as an on the nose example you you just call it "every time you miss..." and no matter how much of a troglodyte the guy behind the keyboard is he's bound to find out.
Josiah Wood
>decide to try out a 2nd rank vestal and make use of her +unholy attack from that row >first fight >never even seen a doot skelly before
t-thanks
Brody Hughes
Five minutes into dungeon diving and chill and this guy gives your Vestal the finger. What do?
Aaron Cox
What's the ideal party composition for DD3? Occultists or Abominations sound like a terrible idea, given the stupidly long nature of the whole thing; so what should I pick instead?
Alexander Hughes
Stuff that can stun and damage the backrow quickly.
Caleb Sanders
doggo man and arby are always good, fill the rest with 0 lepers and you have a winning team.
David Jackson
Why would you run a position 2 vestal without profane scroll?
Sebastian Robinson
Plague Doctor and Hellion fuck white cell stalks up.
Logan Price
I don't know what it is and don't have it
Lincoln Bailey
+15% DMG +30% Debuff Skill Chance +10% PROT if in position 2 +33% Healing Skills if in position 2 +15% Stress
It makes position 2 Vestal good.
Mason King
Brawlers don't have /the/ finger, though.
Carter Anderson
Do this next time. It makes a significant difference.
Andrew Hernandez
You know, i think that darkest dungeon monsters could make interesting minibosses for level 5 dungeons. Could even make a new mission out of it, hunting down two or three ascended cultists in a medium sized dungeon.
Josiah Cook
I think you would have to introduce those missions only after the first DD has been attempted / completed, otherwise the experience might be spoiled.
Cameron Wright
RELEASE THE RADIANT UPDATE FOR CONSOLE ALREADY, YOU FUCKS.
John Foster
It would be nice if the darkest dungeon generated normal level 6 quests after you beat the game.
David Reyes
Probably on their log of things to do right before CC releases. I'd bet start of next month.
Adrian Perry
>attacking wilber with constant low damage attacks so the swine king triggers your riposte with his counter attack
