So hows Wolf Link?

...

We've talked about enemies a lot, but, what animals and critter would you add? I ask as some areas seem like they should have unique species but don't, yet super snowy areas have unique mooses and rhinos.

>kangaroos in the area from the bridge with the Hinox in the middle to Wasteland stable, as well as Taobab Grassland and surrounding area, will box you if you get too close before darting, they can also beat up red Moblins and scare off their buddies
>crocodiles and big wild cats in the jungle and Zora swamp; Crocs don't react unless attacked, will try to swim away, wild cats act like wolves/bears
>Maiamai serving a similar function to Blupees in coastal areas
>some orangutan somewhere you can feed durians to for rupees or to find a shrine or something

spiders, scorpions, snakes

Paya is love, Paya is life

Paya is best girl.
Lewds where

I wish I could do that as well while wearing the Hylian Hood.

he's pretty good, but i've used it just a couple of times and then he dissapears, and it's not letting me use it again until the next day
he attacks everything, even wild life so you get meat without using arrows

Cats.

So we're in the child timeline due to Zelda referencing the sequence of Sky, Time and Twilight, right?

The sages still sealed Ganon in this timeline as well, so the sage references don't necessarily make this timeline impossible.

>snakes
This is something I wanted to see. You use snakes to make antidote, or you can use their skin for armor. I really wanted to craft in this game. The one thing Skyward got right was repairing your equipment. Hell, add some primates and larger fish, ones you have to fight before you obtain them. A missed opportunity considering how often you climb upwards, loftwings for sky travel. Maybe in a sequel, we could see some dungeons and you have to fly up in the sky to get to one. I really wish the Rito beast was a floating island.

But overall, larger fish.

We're in the "nintendo doesn't give a shit about timelines and neither should you" timeline

>So we're in the child timeline due to Zelda referencing the sequence of Sky, Time and Twilight, right?
No. In various languages (though not English) she goes on to mention the voyage across the Great Sea and the Link to the Past. It's just namedrops. The best evidence for a single timeline is for CD-i, followed by the Adult timeline, but there is evidence for all four and details that rule three of the four out (CD-i is the remaining timeline).

Ruto didn't awaken as a sage in the child timeline.

>The sages still sealed Ganon in this timeline as well,
yeah the old man ghosts

the zora stones talk about ruto awakening as a sage and fighting alongside link and zelda

>A missed opportunity considering how often you climb upwards, loftwings for sky travel.
You know dragons let you fly right?

Botw is just a dream by a sexually frustrated link who just wanted to fuck Ruto but can't as she became a sage, why else would everyfish want to fuck him

Ruto was never a sage in the Child timeline

Maybe there's another split in the timeline? In child?

How do we know she didn't become a sage anyway in child?

Options, user. If this is a truly free experience, give the people options to experience the game in their own way. A fishing rod would be nice, too.

CD-i timeline dawg

I love to bully people in kakariko village while riding my bear
sometimes i dismount and watch they trip while they try to run away

There would be no need for sages if Ganon was stopped, would there?

>No. In various languages (though not English) she goes on to mention the voyage across the Great Sea and the Link to the Past.
what does she say in japanese?

*breathes in*

RRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

get a food buff you autist

>those koroks acting out a weaker being trying to pull the master sword
kek

More options tend to actually limit gameplay. Using one button to hit things, one button to jump, one button to run and one button to "do thing", plus a button to throw things, a button to bow, a button to block/lock on and a button to use abilities, and only 5 abilities to switch between, you can do thousands of things in BotW and people are still discovering new things you can do.

Compare that to the opposite design philosophy, the kind you're talking about, which I would say the best example of is Assassin's Creed. They keep adding more and more ways to do the same three things (go up a wall, move across long distances, kill people) and the gameplay somehow becomes MORE boring in each successive game (note that 4 stands out as a peculiar outlier because they partly ditched that design philosophy and reduced the bulk of gameplay to sailing and swimming, so you could have "I didn't know you could do this" moments like BotW is known for, albeit not nearly as much- It's still an example of simpler, less scripted gameplay leading to more a more varied experience).

I dunno, someone gave a translation last thread but only of the opening line because their point was that in Japanese she talks about Fi (the being inside the sword) but in German and English she talks about the triforce and the physical sword itself.

What are your current in-game priorities?

Im only 30 hours in im just getting Central Tower map because I sucked at using perfect guard so the guardian stalkers were a bitch. Is there a better way to deal with them early on?

yeah that was a really cute detail, maybe I'll make a webm. that plus the escort trial gave the koroks in this game a lot of charm.

git gud

But seriously I just ran like a bitch whenever one spotted me.

>What are your current in-game priorities?
I literally only have koroks left. I'll probably read all the compendium entries and then start a new file and do some kind of challenge run while working out a route for an all-beasts speedrun since I think that's the most interesting category that will be manageable for me starting out. Shame I'll never upload it because I don't have a capture card or care enough to get one.

I just got my 3rd divine beast but I feel like I'm going through the story too fast and missing too much side-stuff. Slowing way down for now, doing shrines, finding memories, finding korok seeds, and getting the Master Sword. Also will do some general quests I have stacked up that I need to finish.

Shit's bout to get comfy

I failed that quest around 7 times last night. I either kept losing him to the fog or sneaking too fast that he sees me

...

I'm looking for a gif of a Korok cowering from fear of a wolf that was near him. It was very cute, but nobody made a gif of it, sadly.

cutest mission in the game.

How many hours do you both have logged?

I don't think a sky mount limits gameplay. You're underestimating how large this world is, and how much actual land horses can tread. Granted, Skylofts don't make any sense with this game, but the paraglider can be a little slow.

And now I remember my first point. This game is fucking huge, yet there's not much to see unless you go to a specific point. Fill it with more animals and landmarks and enemies if need be. Your points stand out.

One more thing: Any modding potential? At best, I see recolored enemies and other food items. Backporting enemies ain't happening.

I didn't know about laser parrying, so I just waited until I had guardian weapons in my inventory before going to any areas with them. Even the lower-tier guardian weapons can stunlock them with leg breaks.

I just ran past them. Reposting my list from last night, in order

>all shrines and shrine quests
>get a high tier horse or 5
>all equipment (Armor tab)
I'm here now
>all side quests
>all of kilton's medals of honor
>complete compendium
>if you did all of this you should have a huge amount of korok seeds, now get 441
>kill all the lynels for fun even though they aren't tracked like the others are
(I'll probably quit playing here)
>get the remaining 459 korok seeds
>get all the star fragments needed to upgrade amiibo shit to 4star (it's like 50+ fragments)
>hmm not sure
>all recipes? eat some named dishes?
>kill every enemy in the game enough times so that the entire world is silver
>take 48 pictures of paya's papaya

The wolf was the only thing that screwed me because I lost him for a sec, I got caught once though.

Just got all the different Link outfits, trying to find the best way to get Star Fragments because that's gonna be 12 per set.

Hero
Time
Sky
Wind
Twilight
Fierce Diety

That's fuckin' 72 Star Fragments I need to get. And that's just to upgrade those sets, ideally I'd want every outfit maxed out.

Also considering getting extra pieces of the outfit so that each outfit has it's own line in the inventory instead of being broken up between two lines or pages.

I honestly have no idea what my hours are. Is there a way to tell on the Switch?

Probably wouldnt be accurate though since I let the game stay paused sometimes

Is she on of the truffle sisters? I fucking hate them. I always save them since they seem to always be getting monster raped, and they never give me shit.

They all look like this. Doesn't look like a Zora to me.

Is fierce deity in the game yet? Do you need a trainer?

Just got to that memory, she just mentions the sky, a tour through time and the twilight, same as english. You can hear tasogare/twilight yourself.

it's when the others talk over her

>What are your current in-game priorities?

I am just walking around and exploring while doing some shrines here and there. I'm gonna do a temple when i feel like it.

Still i'm kinda scared of getting tired of the game before i even finish it. It's probably gonna take a long while but i'm scared that if i keep fucking around for too long without progressing, i might do the same shit i did for Skyrim, dropping it without ever finishing it.

With that said the main quest in Skyrim was pretty boring.

People have spoofed the data that you then can load onto your own tag. I just got 10 tags that I ordered last week and loaded them with all the Amiibos I didn't have.

I tried running past and i do good until i have to start climbing, then im fucked even with climbing boots i cant get to safety quick enough.

I think so. She just gave me some Monster Extract.

I killed the wolf the first time. It didn't spawn again in the later ones

...what stable leads to memory 5 and 11? I can't take it anymore

How did they manage to spoof an amiibo that doesn't exist? That sounds impressive.

>People have spoofed the data that you then can load onto your own tag.

We have piracy for future unreleased amiibos? Fuck yeah, do you have a link to the .bin? My set doesn't have fierce deity in it.

The data needed for it is already on the game.

The data for the amiibo was already in the game, I have no idea how it actually works beyond that.

The Sky set took forever to get, went through something like 40 days worth of Amiibo chests to get the full set.

>No cheese to cook with

Truly the biggest thing missing from the game.

Is there a viable way to play Four Swords multiplayer online?

I couldn't find any stable hints for 5, but the landmarks are pretty distinct. It's not too hard to figure it out on your own.

11's hint is in Kakariko Village, not a stable

Maybe it's just supposed to represent them, and not their actual look. Judging by the artstyle they don't seem to be even mortal to begin with, while all other incarnations are.

>and they never give me shit.
With them, you have like less than 3 seconds to talk to any of them to give you an item

No. GBA netplay only really works for certain games. Something to do with the different types of connections they use.

Thanks user
>The Sky set took forever to get, went through something like 40 days worth of Amiibo chests to get the full set.

I know that feel. I have ONE exclusive piece left from the Time set and I get nothing but biggoron swords and arrows.

Yeah I know the general area of 5 so I can find that one with some searching. He won't ask to look at the pic again in kakariko for some reason.

You've tried it online before?

But that's just it, you fucking idiot. Almost every Zelda game IS connected to another one.

AOL is a prequel to LOZ. ALTTP is a prequel to LOZ. OOT is a prequel to ALTTP. LA is a sequel to ALTTP. WW and TP are both direct sequels to OOT. All these were intended to be this one from day one of their development.

That's literally how straightforward it was until WW was created as a sequel to OOT, which contradicted the other sequel, ALTTP until we found out about the split-timeline.

Seriously everyone acts like the timeline is some super convoluted shit that requires a college degree to figure out but it's extremely straightforward aside from some small inconsistencies, which is where the fan-theorists came in, and then all Hyrule Historia did was do exactly what anyone with a brain did and said "look, it's not perfect, there are some minor contradictions, but that's the nature of an ongoing series, so just relax".

I'm a longtime comic book fan and I always laugh when people try and tell me the Zelda timeline is complicated. It only seems that way because 1) they basically made the games in reverse chronological order and 2) people can't wrap their heads around alternate timelines for some reason. You people would read one issue of JSA and give up.

Ohh ok thanks

Gave up on the Biggoron sword because it was taking forever and I wouldn't have anywhere to put it. I have 3 Caps of Time and 2 Trousers, I didn't know you could get duplicates.

200 hours over 31 sessions, I'm Honestly thought I had much more than that, about 10 hours of that is probably me leaving the game on while eating or playing it during loading screens/lobby waits in L4D2 and DBD with friends (which are our standard drinking games). But I'll probably get at least that over again doing special runs and speedruns, and then get it again twice over after I give the game a rest for four to eight months or so then play it again twice. I also get a lot more value out of most games than most people do generally though, I have 459 hours in Dragon's Dogma (a similar but smaller game) according to steam for instance and probably around 1500 hours in Skyrim, mostly treating it strictly as a photography sim. If it were quicker and easier to share BotW screenshots I'd probably get at least another thousand hours just out of that, actually.

>the paraglider can be a little slow.
pic related @ you're opinion

Oh man if we really wanna get into timeline bullshit I'd be more than happy to ramble about the fuckery going on with Superman's timeline right now in DC Comics, it's a hoot.

They didn't read The Flash like some of us did, man.

>but the paraglider can be a little slow.
Are you high user?

>Seriously everyone acts like the timeline is some super convoluted shit that requires a college degree to figure out
Literally nobody thinks this.

yeah you can't dye them so I've been selling the extras off for peanuts.

I can't even defend buying amiibos, the costumes should be the first thing you get from scanning

That's an asspull and you know it. Those are the sages. That's how they look when Ganondorf is being executed, that's what they look like when you meet them. Representation or actual form, they didn't go awaken the sages just to execute Ganondorf. Those are the old, weak sages you have to replace in the Adult Timeline of OoT.

Holy shit you're right, I didn't notice as I was trying to read the text to keep up.

Yeah she's just dropping game names, can't hear as soon as bird man speaks up but there's definitely a sea voyage mentioned just before he does. Perhaps we put this down to zelda being hylia and having omniscience of the hero's deeds across all timelines?

Huh? I dyed one of the sets, maybe the Wild set, haven't tried with others.

>But that's just it, you fucking idiot. Almost every Zelda game IS connected to another one.
Vaguely unless stated otherwise, and the point you seemed to miss:
>Unless the game directly ties to another game (OoT to MM and WW to PH and ST), all it is, is speculation.

The timeline is not needed. It was never needed. You simply have the games connect with one another VAGUELY, unless you're doing a sequel to another title. That timeline fucks up everything and Skyward Sword ruined everything with that origin story nonsense. And the fuckery with comic books is another beast altogether. The sooner we ditch the timeline bullshit, the better. Volvagia may be Valoo, or Volvagia itself remolded into a deity. It's called The Legend of Zelda for a reason. Stories get turned in and out all the time as time goes on.

yes, it doesn't work

I looked up the issue. You can only netplay games that are compatible with the wireless adapter. If it's link cable only, you can't play it.

That's definitely a stretch, especially since this Zelda isn't connected at all to her powers at that point.

I WANT TO FUCK FI

>That's an asspull and you know it

Chill, i just wanted to paint one possible interpretation.

>necrophilia

>And now I remember my first point. This game is fucking huge

>you can hear her in the memories in BotW
>she literally guides Zelda on what to do after Link is gone

Nigger, she's alive as fuck. Fuck off.

>inb4 True end part where Zelda can't hear her anymore
Nigga, Zelda lost her powers, she fucking tells you this. Fuck off and die

Not even mad bro

The Wild is not amiibo. You can't dye anything you get from an amiibo.

I wanted oot-style goron and zora dyes, and I can get 1 of those from the Wild set.

If you want something faster than the paraglider you might as well just use the sheikah slate's fast travel. Especially if you use dragons you move like 200 mph with the paraglider and while the game world is huge it's still just like six Oblivions, not a Daggerfall.

we can probably put it down to devs having fun with references, since it's not like she's explicitly saying "previous heroes did this", she's just saying how link and master sword will withstand anything etc.

I don't care so much about exotic animals but I felt like the game was missing cats, rabbits, snakes, turtles and raccoons. More marine animals would have been nice too, but I can understand why they didn't put sharks in for example when you can't defend yourself in the water without a full zora armor set.

I don't think finishing the game will make a difference. I was doing the same thing as you but then decided to finish the game. Still playing on that save file just walking around exploring.

>nigger

user don't be rude just because i'm black

this is actually really fun when you get the hang of it

This picture is missing Royal Claymore for Ganondorf

>Especially if you use dragons

Huh? You just talking about the 3 or are there other dragons that speed you up.
