I want Mazda to make a new non-Miata sports car, and I don't really care if it's a rotary or not.

For rotaries?

Yes.

If it came with a piston engine, it probably would be a bit of a dog but I guess that can be said about a lot of other cars we regard as good

...

The most obnoxious fan base. Of all time.

>forgetting the GTR and Corvette circlejerks
RX7 has a shitshow of a fan base but its sure as hell not the most obnoxious

What's the corvette circlejerk? Boomers?
It's like a two stroke, it's supposed to have oil injected with the gas.

>What's the corvette circlejerk? Boomers?
mostly

It's certainly one of the best looking.

Not sure if I agree with you entirely, but I really want one

hahaha no

sexiest design, yes maybe. can't argue with that perfect ass.

>tfw mazda will never perfect the rotary engine

the greaded bords gar ob all dime :DDDD

>tfw Mazda has gone downhill. Fast.

why japanese cant make good cars like they did back in the 90s

It cannot be perfected. It's heavily flawed with no real solutions to its problems. The engine was conjured up in a fucking fever dream Wankel had, it's a miracle it even works.

I don't know if it's the greatest of all time. But it was damn good. And the styling was seriously timeless. It was really the engine that fucked it. As amazing as it was, it was. Just too much for normies to bear.

im eternally buttmad that im too tall to fit in an rx7

Lanklets btfo

sunken rails and a low bucket seat will help

t. 6"3 fits comfortably in a friends FD

Being short is a gift.

japs are poor and it is more profitable to sell lifted economy cars to Americans.

im 6'7" and I really dont want to mutilate an rx7

>6'7"
Yeah, well, my dad works at Nintendo.

t. jealous manlet

>this one out of seven billion person cant be tall
>he just cant!

found this today
sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/cto/6095310567.html

Yeah, well, my dad works at Nintendo.

>pic not related

This.

I will give you the most pretty Japanese car designed.

guess ford should get that controlling stake back

this
the FD body is fucking hot, then meme engine not so much

>twin turbo
>255hp

Did I miss something?

Heavily under tuned

sequential =\= twins

>Did I miss something?
...first period at your high school.

>can't handle the superior nazi tech
>trained to like only a single engine configuration like the simple minded cuck you are

yeah well my dad is Mr.Nintendo.

>i'm 72 time for someone else to love this great car

fug, that hurt my heart

Yeah, well my dad is Mr. Robot.

a p e x s e a l s l o l

its the kanye west of cars: loud, annoying, and needs to be punched in the throat...

For me, the greatest sports car ever made will always be the SW20.

There's just something about it that really does it for me.

That's my favourite thing about it.
It's such a fucking insane idea but it still manages to function in a production car.

Not only that but it manages to keep up with many piston sports cars of the time.
I have a big hard on for cars doing weird things

I have a buddy that has one.. easily the toughest sounding 4 cylinder imo

>own aw11
>keep seeing these sexy sw20's

do kinda want.

>superior nazi tech
>mfw I look it up and it's true

>not removing its ability to burn oil with a few simple mods and then just running two stroke oil with the gas

>it still manages to function in a production car.

Not anymore. Rotaries were discontinued in 2012.

>managed to keep up with
You mean beat the fuck out of them lol

Someone post the track tests where it devoured the 911 turbo, lt1 corvette, 3000gt, etc
It doesn't even burn much oil. I've owned 2 Rx7s now and they use less than a Honda. You'll lose about a half liter between changes.

>it's not being made anymore so all the rotaries that were already built magically stop working
>muh flawed design
>Only Japanese car to win Le Mans

>In 1922 he became a member of the NSDAP, which was banned soon afterwards. Wankel founded and led youth groups associated with a cover-up organization of the NSDAP. With them he conducted paramilitary training, scouting games and night walks. Whereas his high esteem for technical innovations was not widely shared among the German Youth Movement, he was offered the opportunity to talk about the issue of technology and education to Adolf Hitler and other leading National Socialists in 1928

>In the meantime Wankel's mother had helped founding the local chapter of the NSDAP in his hometown Lahr. Here Wankel not only rejoined the party in 1926, but also met Gauleiter Robert Heinrich Wagner. In 1931 Wagner entrusted Wankel with the leadership of the Hitler Youth in Baden. But both soon fell out with each other, because Wankel tried to put a stronger emphasis on military training, whereas Wagner wished for the Hitler Youth to be a primarily political organization. In a particularly bitter and ugly controversy Wankel publicly accused Wagner of corruption
wew lad

The Elise is objectively better in every way and is the world's best sports car.

Not like he was the only Nazi party member known for contributions to the auto world.

Mazda still makes parts and sells reman'd engines for rx7/rx8's.

>>Only Japanese car to win Le Mans
Not to shit in your bowl of Doritos but it really activates my almonds to think how many cars could've won Le mans if given a 400 lb weight advantage.

>oh no, the inherently superiour design has an advantage, who could have forseen this?

The "advantage" came from racing officials. it was (given) the advantage i'm not talking about the engine weighing less by itself.

no the engine is hot too

Do they even have a good V6 engine?

The new GT has a mazda based engine so there's that.

boys im hype

went an test drove an NA today for the first time

6'4 so thought i would be way too tall but fit comfortably in there [spoiler] will probably still foamectomy when i get mine b/c can't see street lights too well lul

Seriously, wasn't the FD capable of beating American musclecars? Well before the JEE TEE ARU (not the Skylines bakane) came to be?

It beat a base model C4. the 911 Turbo it beat the ZR1 also beat by 3 seconds. there's also the Callaway cars too.

The FD was from 1992. The R32 GT-R started production in 1989.

The R32 was faster at the time. Not particularly fast at first: youtube.com/watch?v=yq-JE47BUWA

But later iterations that bumped the power really showed off its potential. The RX7 was competitive with the R34 GT-R despite being down on power and was as fast as or faster than the NSX.

youtu.be/n9EiyAUD8Ng?t=1m56s

The 911 Turbo was garbage next to the R33 GTR VSpec for the time until the 996 and the C5 Corvette was not very fast by comparison, I would say the C6 was really when it become one of the fastest cars you could get.

Optimus Prime isn't complete without his trailer

They never tested the C5Z.

with an LS in the front obviously

1:04 around Tsukuba in the type rs, which is a mid range trim, on 90s rubber
1:04 and below is supercar territory

>those wheels
nigger what are you doing

>Tsukuba
conefag track

slower than a cobalt on a real track like the ring

Sorry?

ruf and ready

>cobalt

turns itself off

Tsukuba is a purpose built time attack track
Keep trying though

u wot m8

and mazda will be releasing a new rotary engine soon sooo yeah

the exige is confirmed top tier god machine

sequentiaal turbos are of different size m8

are there 2 turbochargers?

english please

yes

you might be confusing them with twin scroll turbos

youre actually fucking retarted. if there are 2 turbochargers, regardless of their respective sizes, its a twin turbo setup.

For me, its the exact opposite way around. I own an SW20 and have only ever seen one other one, and it was at nearly midnight.

AW11s are everywhere where I live, and I really want one.

>Ashland, OR
>Bay Area Craigslist

I do wonder how much you could pick this up for. There's basically none left that have two turbos, original owner, and hasn't been rices to hell and back.

umm user, when speaking of "twins", you are talking about a set up where the turbos are of equal size and they are runing on a parallel set up

not all sequential turbos are parallel

Sequential and twin turbo are used to refer to two different setups.

Twin, by definition, implies that the two are the same.

Separate turbos of the same size are twin turbo, two turbos of differing size in sequence are sequential turbo, you really could argue that both are biturbo, but biturbo generally refers to sequential setups.

I can smoke the fuck out of this in my 2000 EK hatch with a couple of simple mods.

but both sequential and parrallel setups are twins

true if you track it on the stock cooling system

also, bi-turbo is just another way to say twin turbo. similar to how bmw twin power turbo can refer to either twin turbos or twin scroll turbos

lel

>not all sequential turbos are parallel

kek

but user, when you use the word "twins" you are talking about parallel twin turbos, where one turbo receives half of the exhaust gas, or at least that is its common usage

besides not all sequential turbos are ran on a parallel set up

>compound turbos are parallel

>besides not all sequential turbos are ran on a parallel set up

read that again but slower, then come back when you can tell me what youve learned.
