Does anyone ever buy the most expensive trim on econoboxes?

Does anyone ever buy the most expensive trim on econoboxes?

What the fuck is the point?

I feel like it's the dudes who walk into dealerships thinking 'im going to buy a cheap Sentra and that's it.' and end up getting played by the car salesman into buying a higher end version or something.

People who buy new econoboxes don't know jack shit about cars so it's easy as fuck to coerce them into getting shit they don't need.

Maybe they want a decent daily with actual livability unlike that smelly shitty 3k Civic your mom's friend sold you

Not sure, i asume its retarded women who want a more "luxurious" interior

it's funny af considering the only thing that is different is the stitched ""leather"" steering wheel and the phone screen on the dash.

classic upselling junk

its like when movies sell popcorn and drinks at 3 different sizes when they are literally all the same above medium.

and for fuck sake my 20 year old shitbox has better interior

nice wooden trim, is that stock?

M8...I'm not gonna say the nissan has a nice interior, but yours is even worse.

yeah some other models come with fake wood trim like so
have fun getting rekt by a 20 year old 5.7

The new 2018 Camry is looking Bretty gud

Had a Berlina company car about 15 years ago, it had one of the worst interiors I've ever seen. Not to mention you aren't going anywhere quick with that fat bitch m8

>the point?
to have a seemingly nicer version of a boring a to b car

Is the Civic an econobox? If so, Yeh, I have the top trim for the year, minus Navi

Why?
>Heated leather seats (a blessing in our winter)
>Heated side mirrors
>Sunroof
>Nicer wheels

Is it worth it? Depends on what you're willing to spend. Did me, it was.

I prefer leather seats to fabric. Is it really so bad to want a comfier interior and more features? Shit like reversing camera and push button start are really nice quality of life features that don't come standard on el-cheapo models of most cars

If you want leather seats over fabric you settle for an used luxury car.

Only cripples buy new top trim shitboxes, also both of the things that you mentioned
>leather seats
>rear view camera
aren't even available in the Versa SL.

That 3k civic isn't smelly if it's owners weren't degenerates..

>civic owner
>ever not a degenerate

bought mine from a dr.

>have 12k to drop
>can either get a fully loaded Accent or base model Elantra (both used with >20k miles)
>hmm do i want leather wheel, heated seats, power sunroof, bluetooth, multiple displays and climate control or do i want an extra half inch of legroom?
>hmmmmm
>hmmmmmmmmmmm

And thats how i fell victim to the dealership scam of actually having more than a steering wheel and seats in a car

>And thats how i fell victim to the dealership scam of actually having more than a steering wheel and seats in a car

I feel like this is supposed to be sarcasm, but it's a true statement.

>Only cripples buy cars under warranty and with no mileage that are affordable to fix
>Le tru ebin enthusiasts buy a half dead luxury car and spend a shitton on repairs and maintenance
You're one of those cretins that makes
> is shit!!!11
threads with a picture of 25 year old piles of rust, aren't you?

In my country, manufacturers are absolute Jews and sell necessary safety equipment such as ABS and airbags only in the top variants. The other """""equipment""""" is mostly stupid shit like nav, which never works properly, or bullshit crap like auto folding mirrors, which one can live without.

Do your heated side mirrors keep you warm?

when you drive a shitbox with no options you learn that its better to get a shit box with the maximum amount of options available.

They like to feel superior to the people who own the same car as them, is really the only reason.

>base fiesta is a mediocre shitbox for $14k
>top trim fiesta ST is a super fun 200hp shitbox with race seats for $24k

Sometimes, but not often, it is worth the upgrade op.

i look down on shitters with base model sonics all day

its like where your fog lights and spoiler bruh

also car looks stupid with the base 15s but the 16s are perfect

Is this irony or pure retardation?

is what irony or retardation?

Dude, heated seats.

Meme.

Redundant af since I live in Miami.

Now the FiST is the exception.

All top trim shitboxes should follow Ford's example.

Make it sporty and people would flock to it in a heartbeat.

Hyundai also knows what's up with the Veloster and Elantra.

just get cloth seats, leather heated seats are an unnecessary meme

>he doesn't know the bliss of having your ass and back gently heated after a good day of shredding the slopes or waiting for a curious buck on a frosty morning

I bought a top-trim Mazda3. I liked the leather seats and the adaptive headlights. The other goodies are nice, too. My previous cars have been pretty bare-bones and this is a nice change.

For the same price, if still buying new, I could have gotten a more basic midsized car with a similar engine. That generally would have meant a nicer (quieter and smoother) chassis, which obviously wasn't a primary concern for me. (I also would've been restricted to sedans and automatic transmissions.)

It would've taken another $10k to buy a bare-bones car from a luxury brand. Manual seat adjustment, basic stereo, lots of blanked buttons... I wouldn't feel good about spending $35k to get that unless it was a really fun or sporty car, which they really aren't anymore.

Of course, you can always go used. It's usually a better idea, but you do give up some reliability and crash safety. At certain stages of life those matter a little more.

>>he doesn't know the bliss of having your ass and back gently heated after a good day of shredding the slopes or waiting for a curious buck on a frosty morning
I don't

>not having heated cloth seats
Pure bliss

Heated seats are a meme. I'd much rather have a heated steering wheel and cooled seats.

The ST isn't the top trim for the Fiesta, it's something apart. The titanium is the top trim.

but Camrys aren't econoboxes, they're family sedans
having an upscale interior and a few nifty features isn't unwarranted in this case

Heated seats feel nasty, like someone else had been sitting there.

My ladies car has heated cloth/leather seats and my car just has cloth non heated. Honestly, I've only used them a handful of times in her car.

A/C seats are where it's at, but back on topic.

I bought midlevel trim for multiple reasons.

No ABS/TCS/ASM standard(they're a shit in snow), didn't want to buy expensive 17" tires, I don't like the roof mounted spoiler on the SES, I didn't want econobox tier leather(although the wheel is leather wrapped), dealership already had one exactly how I wanted it equipped so I didn't have to wait for it to be ordered, the only other 5spd on the lot was identically equipped but silver(blue is my favorite color)

Basically the only option I don't have that I would actually want is the premium sound with the factory sub, but the base stereo is decent.

wait, top trim mazda3 comes with stick?

Why does it look like a lancer though?

I have a Camry XLE V6
I was tired of shitty cars breaking and I wanted at least some power

yoo crasy boi

camry v6 actly has great smooth power delivery cuz dat NA 2gr-fe refined for decades by Toyocunt. but spending CPO Lexus money on a Camry ain't good brah

The trick is to not buy a fucking new car.

I bought an 08 Altima 3.5 SE with the highest trim level and it's damn nice. Paid 5 grand for it with 92k miles. That V6 Nissan has in the 4th gen Altima is fucking awesome too.

I mean it was only $18K, I bought the 2013 model in 2016 with 29,000 miles. Seemed to be off of a lease.

Searching autotrader for 3 year old V6 Lexuses within 100 miles if me and under 45,000 miles doesn't give me anything under $25,000 listed.

it make more sense to buy a top trim econobox than a base model. you're better off buying use than a base model yet people still buy those shits.

There is some charm in a high-end economy car. A ex-co-worker bought an early 90's Ford Escort with a manual, DOHC engine, disk brakes, etc etc. in great condition from some granny. It was a way nicer car than you would imagine.

Escort GT, those have Mazda engines.

Getting a satnav but not AC...

WHY?

t. never lived north of georgia

yep

Trim levels are irrelevant desu (unless we're talking different engines/trans)

my mom got a cpo 2015 buck encore premium a few weeks ago and its pretty neat but i feel sorry for the person that paid $35k for it

>two-tone leather interior with wood trim
>lane keeping assist, collision alert, rear view cam, park distance control. basically every safety nanny you could think of that would help your typical normie
>bangin bose stereo (seriously, very good)
>rides like you would expect a Buick to despite having the wheelbase of a compact hatch

the salesman said the people that traded it in traded up to a highest-trim silverado 3500, so it must be in their genes to make that mistake

pic related

>lane keeping assist, collision alert, rear view cam, park distance control.
>SNIP SNIP SNIP SNIP
>B-buh the warning lights
>SNIP

Other than that sounds dope.

The A/C button is to the right of the fan speed knob.
