>just now realizes Elon uses Tesla's name in vain as a marketing stunt.

Whats the point? Why not call it an edison?

It's batteries are recharged with electricity from alternating current.

Because Tesla is the good guy. Edison is le evil corporate man.

Fast charger uses DC

Edison is probably already copyrighted.

And Musk is riding the coattails of that man, without giving him credit for shit. Kinda like Edison if you think about it.

The Model S and X use AC induction motors

Unless you have your own generator hooked to the fast charger the electricity is still coming over A/C from the local coal power plant.

Tesla uses an inverter to create AC power for their drive motors.

It lets them use higher voltage and lighter wiring.

Brushless motors are AC.

Not true, there are brushless PMDC motors, most hybrid cars use them. The computer you are posting on most likely contains one as well.

it's not powering my house so edison is still a fucking retard.

Supplied by DC current you twit.

PMDC motors aren't brushless faggot

Tesla cars use AC motors supplied by batteries charged with power from the AC distribution system.

You idiots don't know how electricity works, give it a rest.

Because then Musk wouldn't be able to get the Reddit audience, the only people who will actually care about his electric cars.

Ok so we can all agree that the new name of the company is "Edison-inverter-Tesla-rectifier-Edison"?

Nothing in this thread is about the physics of electricity.
And anyone who has been to highschool knows how electricity works.

What I meant to say is that you, personally, are brainless. Do you know the difference between power and controls? If not shut the fuck up.

Mad fanboy?

Because normies think it sounds cool

Fan of what? Also you are a confirmed idiot for pretending to know anything in the first place.

I haven't pretended to know anything. Your post is the first one I replied to in this thread. Fanboy.

I literally don't give a fuck about the name of this company. I'm just annoyed that everyone in this thread is acting like AC vs DC is still a thing. That shit ended in 1890.

No one in this thread is doing that.

It was the entire thread you idiot.

[citation needed]

it does use a three phase induction motor
both things that nikola tesla pioneered

>uses Tesla's name in vain as a marketing stunt.
I don't like it either
normi will just think of some Steve jobs like shit
rather than bothering to consider what's behind the name

>He doesn't use a 9 phase motor

>store a type of current
I don't even want to click on that link

>not using a stepper motor

>dc is also a kind of current
checkmate Luddite

what le fug

you guys are retards.
it's obviously rotating current. that's why the wheels spin.

mostly used in printers and scanners
some of the older ones have optical tracking of the rotor

But why?
High precision parking?
Extreme tailgating?

>Extreme tailgating?

>thomas "lets just build a generator every other block" Edison
what an overrated hack

Probably because Edison was a turbo-Jew and his estate would need to be fed shekels to use the name.

Probably had little to do with discovering DC, anyway. Likely he took credit for an underling's work as usual.

>discovering DC
Edison did not discover Direct Current

The first DC was generated before he was even born.

The recognition of electromagnetism, the unity of electric and magnetic phenomena, is due to Hans Christian Orsted and André-Marie Ampère in 1819-1820; Michael Faraday invented the electric motor in 1821, and Georg Ohm mathematically analysed the electrical circuit in 1827.
