>Booze was illegal

What went right?

Roaring 20's is pretty good.

1910s and 1930s are pretty shitty but the roaring twenties sound like a fun time to live in

seems like a shit time to be a NEET fucking radio was in its infancy
RADIO ffs

>He doesn't listen to sweet tunes on his Victor talking machine
>laughing flappers.jpg

One time I went on /r9k/ and this 55 year old NEET posted a picture of his backpack in his closet. Said he hadn't touched it since his last day of high school. Never went to college or had a job since then. He said before the internet and videogames he just went to the woods all day and dug up beehives or something like that. Depressing as hell.

>mfw NEETs actually go outside back in the day

Wait he said this? On the internet!?

ahhhhh the 1920s, what a time to be alive.

>theatre

When did the shift from re to er happen?

I don't get it

from theatre to theater

You should watch Boardwalk Empire. It's obviously historical-ish, but there's plenty of great stuff and it's obviously well studied.

Plus boobies, music, and amazing fashion.

Why not read a book, though?

Women got the vote and everything went to hell.

1. income taxes.
2. foreign intervention
3. federal reserve
4. alcohol prohibition
5. national firearms act
6. great depression
7. that socialist cripple FDR

Among "artistes." the "er" spelling refers to the building, the "re" spelling to the art form.

Pronouncing it with the "a" long indicates you are from a rural background.

>Implying any of that was a bad thing other than the depression and prohibition

Women suffrage, prohibition and the income tax appearing together was not coincidental. To pass prohibition at the state level, and later to ratify the amendment, drys needed women to vote, since women, much more than men, supported prohibition. Though women were not allowed to vote in national elections in time to help pass the Prohibition Amendment, they WERE voting in numerous states by then, and electing legislators to support ratification, and congressmen to push the amendment in DC.

Meanwhile, the drys needed to somehow replace the huge revenue stream represented by the excise tax on liquor. Hence the income tax. The DuPonts. and other very rich men, who opposed prohibition and funded repeal efforts were not doing so just because they were thirsty -- they resented the Hell out of having to hand some of their income over to the government. In the event, Prohibition was repealed but the income tax left in place -- must have pissed them off to no end,. but a good lesson for all of us -- a government power, once accepted, is damn hard to take back.

>roosevelt
>socialist

Pick one.

A woman voted AGAINST the US joining Wwii.

Christcucks did prohibition

>Roaring Twenties sound like fun
Degenerate scum.

Masculine women, Feminine men
Which is the rooster, which is the hen?
It's hard to tell 'em apart today! And, say!
Sister is busy learning to shave,
Brother just loves his permanent wave,
It's hard to tell 'em apart today! Hey, hey!
Girls were girls and boys were boys when I was a tot,
Now we don't know who is who, or even what's what!
Knickers and trousers, baggy and wide,
Nobody knows who's walking inside,
Those masculine women and feminine men

To be honest, you probably masturbate to 1950's cold war propaganda.

Women never have gotten into video games.

>Income Taxes
>"""Socialist""" FDR

You should be happy for that shit, without Income Tax and FDR we'd be Commies by now

>tfw no bf with a feminine penis

I like your style of writing and wish there were more commentaries like yours on this board. I think (hope) that's what most people look for as well. Not simplistic "x is this, y is that, then this happened" but a comprehensive analysis with a personal touch to give it some vitality.
