Also, what exactly is limit breaking? I just did it when upgrading my valfalk gunlance, but I'm not sure what's special about it. Is it just upgrading it to G-rank?

Whatever you had at endgame high rank will carry you through mantis. After mantis you really want to be getting some better armor.

If I'm running Brave SA with Tempest Axe, what's the best combo to do when a monster is stationary/trapped: Spamming R for all the switch attacks, or going into Tempest Axe's Hack 'n' Slash?

And a follow-up question, if I were to run a different HA with it, would that change the answer?

I would do the hack n slash then the special X finisher as the monster is getting up.

If you're running Brave, you only really have 2 options: Energy Charge III and Tempest Axe. Yes it would change the answer because Tempest axe makes the hack n slash do more DPS then that morph combo, though hack and slash has the added bonus of keeping you stationary.

I feel a little hypocritical about being so picky with DPS when I could just as easily go back to Sword-Only Striker, but it's been so liberating and fun having a Switch Axe that actually switches again.

Can anyone help a dumbo out? I just scanned the QR for the 2.1 patch, ran the patcher, did 3.4 BootNTR Selector, then launched my MHXX but I'm still on patch v2.

Do I need a stock MHXX install for the patch? I see the line in the guide saying "run NTR Selector (BootNTR is outdated)" but I have no idea what the fuck that means because when I google NTR selector I just get a link to the program I used prior to opening the MHXX

Either install the clean 1.1 game patch, then run the patcher and play using bootNTR Selector, or Install the 1.1 patch with the 2.1 translation included within and don't use BootNTR, just run the game normally.

Don't do both.

I thought that gbatemp thread patch method number 1 was going to permanently patch my game so I wouldn't need to continuously run the BootNTR before playing everytime. But basically what I did only fucked up because I tried BootNTR'ing my 1.1 game that already had the v2 patch applied. I gotcha
