I'll throw my hat in here. ksg as a whole isn't really an echo chamber desu. There've been multiple times people have come forward, told their problems, and got told that THEY were the problem and to seek help and all. No clue how many have but we don't exactly baby everyone.

could go either way, of course. would depend on his personality and their relationship. since akira essentially is a guy, though, there might not be that much of a difference in how hekira would treat lilly

Akira isn't laidback because she's a girl, but because she's had to go through the stress of basically raising a kid on your own.

Those first couple of years are hell, but eventually, you learn to just let go and let the kid make their own mistakes.

It depends on the story type. I prefer to write first person if there's a lot of dialogue and focus on the emotions the character is going through to share them with the reader. The game itself is in first-person, so I like it a lot more and it's what I have practice in.

I personally don't think it would matter. Akira's personality is, like you said, built on her experiences more than her own upbringing.
