Just don't go to Balmung, it's garbage. Having a medium-sized, well adjusted population is better than a giant population with nothing but self-centered weebs and ERPers.
You'll find less RP quantity here, but more quality. Take it from someone who's been on both servers for 6 months each.

This makes absolutely no difference since the only thing in this game with fixed value is housing, anf you're not getting that on Balmung or Gilgamesh anyway. If anything lower priced goods as you said makes it easier for new people to gear up on a server like Balmung. The only people hurting on Balmung are DoH/DoL who are trying to save up for a big house.

You can come over to Excalibur/Leviathan on Primal, they're mid-pop servers with a decent amount of activity.
