The Meet starts at 11am where we gather together at the Wally meeting spot. While we wait for others to show up or top off their gas, we'll make some more plans. Some people show up even earlier because they might eat lunch before the Meet. Everyone will be rolling out at 1130am. There are panoramic views as you drive on roads atop cliffs with no guard rails to spoil your view.
If you've never visited national parks, please note many have entrance fees due to all those tax cuts. First time visitors to Mount Rainier National Park should see:
The route will start down 410 up thru the mount rainier park to the Paradise Inn major tourist destination. Its multiple parking lots are full unless you arrive before 9AM so we can't park there. We will then go down the other side through Elbe and back to the starting location.
As of right now it is bring your own food since there is no agreement as of yet to have a cookout along the drive. Usually people have brought sealed snacks and drinks to share. As with past Meets, people can gather to eat dinner together at a restaurant at the end of the Meet. Some people take pictures with their phones and beam them over to others (or collect some) at that time.
Stops along the route will be made as the group sees fit.

>route will start down 410 That is a clockwise route around the big loop. Is that the best route for heading up the mountain? Or is the counter-clockwise route the best way?

Anyone showing up early to find things to do in Buckley before the meet starts?
David Long
There's nothing to do there m8, its a little farm town with a couple stores and a restaraunt or two
Charles Cruz
Lake tapps is right there as well as the white river. Lots of abandoned mineshafts to explore too up the 410. Good fishing, swimming, hiking, etc.
Nicholas Kelly
Now, if only there was something like an abandoned missile silo to explore.... Some of those "ruin porn" videos show people taking a long drive out to nowhere and then exploring some old abandoned factory building. They were in business until clinton signed china into Most Favored Nation trading status. All the factory jobs went to china and these factories closed down.
Hunter Wilson
>Now, if only there was something like an abandoned missile silo to explore
Washington state is full of surprises from its own "stonehenge" to abandoned airstrips. In the summer time, you might get tours of ones in washington.
I'd love to go but I'm all the way down here in Vancouver Also I'm here from Colorado for an internship so I would have to borrow my bosses car
Jordan Morris
Who knows though, does anybody know how far away I am roughly? Vancouver wa not bc
Liam Phillips
>anybody know how far away I am Click on that google Map URL and on the left side, you can enter your city name Vancouver, Washington. It then gives the distance from that city hall to the Wally's meeting spot. Google can even calc the time it takes to drive there at the speed limit. Or you can set an arrival time and it will calc what time you need to leave your place.

>Who knows though Autism site Ask.com pioneered an autistic question parser to answer autistic people's questions. Naturally, autistic google added that autistic feature into their autistic request box as well even if it is not as autistically specific in answering autism type questions.
Try typing into the google search box the following question:
what is the distance between Vancouver, Washington and Buckley, Washington?
However, google is not autistic enough to answer questions like: what is the speed of an unladen swallow?

Autism speaks
Levi Ward
>so I would have to borrow my bosses car Nah, don't do that. Job comes first. Interns are rated on many factors and not just how well they do their work, but also on inappropriate behavior. Running local errands with the bosses car is acceptable, but generally speaking, interns should not use the bosses car for personal trips.

I just moved to the liberal paradise of King County and this sounds like it might be fun
Evan Phillips
where do you have the misfortune of being in king?
Carter Baker
He's not just my boss, he's sort of a family friend who owns a business out here, and I'm also staying at their house. He told me if I want to "take it camping or whatever" I can, so it's not that bad. I think they have 2 other cars at the business.
William Myers
redmond's nike site is only cool if you like trashy banksy knockoff grafitti and getting fucked by hornets - shit is terrible in the summer
Luke Diaz
Just be sure your personal auto insurance covers you driving that car. Some policies only cover the car that you originally registered for, so if you borrow someone else's car, there is zero coverage. Or you have to contact the agent ahead of time and allow some processing time to elapse before coverage is accepted for that additional car. Washington State seems to allow insurance policies to cover only the cars listed on your policy and not borrowed cars.

Overexplored by teens!
Anthony Reed
>its a little farm town with a couple stores and a restaraunt or two There's a farmer's co-op type store there. You might be able to buy some fertilizers or pesticides (diazonon) that wouldn't be available in populated areas. Or you might even be able to buy a weeding tool (handle with 8-inch rod with sharp forked tip) of which availability in stores is heavily discouraged in the big cities.
Jaxson Rodriguez
any pesticide not readily available in a city will require a license
Austin Cook
amazon sells permethrin at 35% concentration some of the shops out in the boonies just sell shotguns and chicken feed together
David Rogers
You mean it has been too long since when it was decommissioned. Thus none of the "ruin porn" charm remains. All that's left is trashy vandalism plus insect and spider hell for those who try to visit. Got it.
That's a chronic problem with ruin porn. Take too long to see it and it becomes gone and ruined. A lot of ruin porn is not good for Veeky Forums Meet people anyways because everyone needs to have good flashlights and quality air masks to filter out the huge amount of mold spores.
David Ward
youre so fucking autistic please kill yourself
Christopher Lopez
why so hostile user?
Levi Russell
>this thread is filled with autism
Nah. What's autistic is that Wally's Drive-In has a Dine-In menu and food choices that are Dine-In only.
>Anyone showing up early to find things to do in Buckley before the meet starts? Bonney Lake is the major town in that area.
Ayden King
because these threads have been dominated by this autist and the guy types up mountains of irrelevant shit all fucking day
Kayden Jenkins
so post something useful.
Adrian Murphy
Just let the threads die then. At least we see something interesting. I find new things from reading the posts.
How about I cobble up a bot poster to satisfy your desire for posts from someone else? I'll copypasta from who knows where. The bot takes a chunk and posts every 5 hours or so to keep the thread alive.
Brody Ross
>because these threads have been dominated by this autist instead of attacks, people should say thanks for keeping the threads alive.
Julian Collins
There's a thread with holier than thou attitude of "should I go with the autists, or should I go to redmond instead". Posts had no content other than ego.
