Old thread:

You were the chosen one, /gwt/

i was hoping that the thread dies without any replies...you ruined it user

Sorry I guess

i hope that i find a woman like her someday

Just think about how many hoops Olgierd had to jump through to get her. You'll probably have to do the same if not more
Good thing that you can't just make pacts with devils in real life

i was about to reply but then i realized that we are waifufagging

THIS NEEDS TO STOP NOW user!

Are we really waifufagging? Aren't we just discussing women and the difficulty of finding one with traits that, as an example, can be compared to those of a fictional character?
Granted, it's not really Gwent or online card games but it's something

i wish cdpr would just end my suffering ;_;

Why are you suffering, user?

i want to play gwent, but the current state of the game bores me to death.
i don't have anything else to play and i'm a neet...

I feel you on Gwent and hope the next patch or patches don't just ruin the game even more
I have started to replay old games to see if they're still fun and they usually are. Also landed a job last week so I'm pretty stoked about that even if it means getting home late on the day I work

That was supposed to say 'days' as in the plural form of 'day'
Don't know what happened but probably me being unable to spell or read

ah youre that user.
maybe you might even find a waifu through your job.

Honest question. What exactly are your expectations of a closed beta game and how do you feel about CDPR's approach with Gwent at this moment? Is this the longest a game has been in closed beta?

The reddit thread got me thinking, and seeing those comments about not having "incentive" to play after hitting R15 seems kind of grating as if they aren't playing for the gameplay itself. And perhaps partly them forgetting it's not a fully released game by any means. What do you think CDPR expects out of its testers? Has this closed beta period ever been intended to "stick" with the audience in a way a full game would? It just seems as if many have pretty impractical views on what they want from Gwent at this point in time.

Maybe I'm too green having not played as long as some (started a week before positioning change hit). Interested to know what you all think.

its mostly because of the wipe

I'm not the user who posted spoilered posts about getting a job. I'm the duplicate cards and plugged shower drain user
Maybe I might, yeah, but with my luck I almost expect divine intervention to be necessary before it happens
You get some bonus kegs after the wipe for each rank and every second level so that's why people see no incentive to play after rank 15
The way I see it, people are too used to betas just being devs' excuse for maybe changing things a lot with patches until "release" or a demo instead of a way to test mechanics on a wider scale to iron out how the game plays. The problem then just arises from CDPR listening a bit too much to people whining on reddit and balancing things based on that instead of in ways that work perfectly fine. Golds needing to be locked before Rad and co. can interact with them was a poor decision from my point of view, for example

Suicide hotline

dead thread, dead game

A dead thread just means all the players are busy playing the game.

The player count is growing at such high speeds that CDPR servers are constantly overloading and breaking and that is the only reason you might experience long que times.

I'm from /svg/ and I was thinking to pick this up as I heard from posters there that this game is pretty interesting. Could you guys tell me the things it does well and poorly and what separates it from other card games?

Thank you.

I'm about to pick the game up, what makes you feel like that?

>i want to play gwent, but the current state of the game bores me to death.
>i don't have anything else to play and i'm a neet...

I'm so sorry, user.
I'm in the same situation.
I'm replaying the Metro games in the hardest difficulty to kill the pain.

+very strategic
+little rng
+not a hearthstone clone

-unbalanced
-low deck variety, one of the 5 factions is barely even played
-too much thinking can hurt your head

id wait until the game officially comes out

Patches and the lack thereof

>Rad
A question, what would be the best way to improve Mad Rad?

Making him able to target golds? Or making his lock permanent, aka resurrecting a card wouldn't eliminate the lock?
>What do you think CDPR expects out of its testers?
I don't know. I don't understand why they decided to release such a huge amount of keys right before the positioning patch.
From what I've seen, most people interacting with the community and playing are only 3-4 weeks olds (I mean playing, I'm sure they are grown men)

It is true that there is no point in playing anymore. At least for the people that started the beat early. The game is booooring as hell, you've seen everything a hundred times and there is no reward for you. High rank, high level, collection complete. Why would I keep playing?

dont be so hard on the developers, they are working on campaign and new cards and reworking some of the mechanics
these things take time to make, its ok to take a break from the game for a few days

>what would be the best way to improve Mad Rad?
I'd say return him to his old function but that probably won't happen

>you've seen everything a hundred times
I wonder if they might reconsider their philosophy on core cards.
What gets me the most is seeing a leader and just knowing what 4/5 cards in his deck are. Im looking at you trebuchets.
Consume monsters are probably the only deck archetype that I enjoy seeing as only half of that deck is mandatory.

It's just that when they then do release a patch, it changes card to potentially be thematically inconsistent or just plain weird.

im lucky that cpy cracked ME:Andromeda
the fucked up animation give it a little extra for memes

Yeah.
They don't want cards interacting with golden cards, for whatever reason.

Also, why the hell did they buff Iorveth?
I mean, I get it, he wounds for 6, and only targets bronzes and silvers, so part of the wounding will most of the time be lost, so they compensate it by buffing the base strength of the card but...
Am I the only one that thinks that is weird? Or wrong?
Seems like a way to say fuck it to the general balance.

I think the best way for rad would be single target Lock and deal 5 damage.

This way you have a Dimeritium chain with Value on you.

Same reason of
>They don't want cards interacting with golden cards

But Eithnè still effect Gold card.

Bloody non humans.

A shame I have no thyme...

>Eithne and Golds

Holy shit does Schirru and Borkh need to be made relentless as well as permadeath. Jesus fuck, I just played a game where the Eithne player let Borkh go off, Dim Shackled, Eithne'd, and then Decoyed the bastard.

I was just dragging things out because fuck ST but man did that rustle my jimmies.

Even taking breaks from the game doesn't change this

The whole exercise would become counterproductive. But here, the power's stable. Here, there's a nice even flow. Here, you can flip a switch and the power stays on all day. Where is she?

Holy shit. That's pretty pathetic...

Welcome to 97% of matches
Faggots netdeck and whine on reddit when their netdeck doesn't give them free wins

>But i copied the deck perfectly!

What are the best cards/strategy to thin a Skellige deck?
I'm now playing around with this faction.

Letho

Aside from the obvious cards like Bran, Mousesack and so on?

You can try a bear with Drummond Shield Maidens so they chain summon each other if you can set that up in round 1. 3 Witchers can thin a deck too, and the Dimun Pirates have good synergy with Dimun Pirate Captains (I think those are the ones- one discards all copies from your deck when played, one gains strength every time anything is discarded).

The biggest issue right now with discard SK is running into NG players with Vicovaro Medics. Be careful with buffing things in your graveyard and make sure you beat them to the punch with Queensguard if you're playing them.

I use An Craite Raiders instead now because too many of my QG and Tuirseach Skirmishers got swiped. At least that way they contribute once when discarded.

It's more like i was trying to make a viable Warcry SK deck with some ability to make it faster so i don't have to rely on luck on draws too much.
So the options are pretty much Ermion, Birna Bran, Donar ar Hindar, and the Witchers, it seems.
Unfortunately Silver slots are tight, i don't know if the witchers will fill in.
Maybe i could try Drummond Shieldmaidens or the Dimun Pirates, but they seem pretty meh.

I don't enjoy discard SK too much.

And i get kind of wrecked with wounding SK because it seems everyone carries DBomb or multiple Fogs.

Letho fucked me up today.
Letho+Dbomb+Treason made me pretty unhappy, if only i had an Aeromancy i would have fucked him up.

Legit kek
KoB is key, imo.
With him in hand you don't need priestesses.
And the Sigdrifa - kob - priestess - resurrection is awesome in round 3.

KoB is pretty cool.
Making it is pretty costly though, i hope i get it in a keg.

If you are going for a warcry deck, then the shieldmaidens are gonna be great. They give you both, a target for warcry and deck thinning.
But you need a savage bear in the table at all time.
Add the young berserk and the archers and you pretty much have it.

I also decided to quit this for a week or two. Terrific game, great concept and execution. Yet the lack of communication after CDPR employees used to respond to every single plebbit thread is offputting. Better leave while it's still somewhat fun and then come back later with fresh content released. Especially since most of us are rank 15 anyway. We'll all get our 30-50 kegs after the wipe anyway, so just let it go for a few weeks.

I bought planet coaster just for this purpose yesterday. You wouldn't believe how calming it is to design comfy amusement parks after being used to having your blood pressure tested time and time again by ST shitters and their Vrihedd Dragoons. Can only recommend it.

last game weathers werent showing up correctly
opponent plaing frost and it only showed the effect on his side (it still reduced my minions str)
he then cleared sky and the effect didnt go away (minions went back to normal)
damn poles

>lack of communication
When will this meme end.
The public doesnt need to be part of every internal developer discussion.
Reading plebbit posts is not part of the gameplay.
The developers probably arent just loafing around the office playing heartstone. Let them fucking do their job without demanding their constant presence on reddit.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Oh user I know they are working their asses off. CDPR promised to deliever so many things for the near future that it's only natural for them to be working really really hard. I also don't want rethaz to drop his normal job and reply on reddit posts full time. What I mean by "lack of communication" is simply this: It wouldn't hurt to get a clarification whether or not there is a patch coming, whether or not we get the 20 promised cards this month etc. Simply confirming this, showing off a few new cards via official facebook or popular streamers would really go a long way to get some hype back into the player base.

I certainly don't have hard feelings for CDPR. Didn't mean to sound that way if I did. I just think it's a little bit too silent right now.

What if we gave Emhyr a passive ability instead of 'Reveal 3 cards', like remove 1 strength from a random opposing non-Gold unit whenever a card in either hand is revealed. You can't use him as a Leader card, because his ability is passive.

Y/N ?

>You can't use him
disgusting, no

>passive ability
No.

the new cards and mechanic reworks and everything is all connected, not spilling the beans on anything until its all just the way its meant to be is the right move from them

It is true. I'm in PST and whenever I wake up in the morning 50-70 posts.

Different companies have different approaches. Though I don't know if how CDPR dealt with the Witcher games during development is the same as Gwent. Never followed them then. Can someone fill me in?

Take a old Valve (Dota 2 specifically) vs. Riot example.
Valve rarely if ever interacts with the community No previews, no nothing. They just work on the game and when a patch is out, it's out. Sometimes they even remedy certain issues or implement a suggestion pointed out on the frontpage of /r/DotA2 within mere hours or days. Yes, there's still a lot more wrong with the game they have to fix, but they're pretty vigilant about the important things.
Riot before every update has to put out a fancy PR blog with pictures and videos describing what they're changing/adding and why they think it's better for the game. Which can be seen as great, sure, but despite having a more frequent and predictable patch cycle, they take much longer to address in-game bugs.

Different strokes. Realistically, does CDPR really need to "keep up the hype" for a game in closed beta? Do you think their current nonchalance will ultimately affect the real release when they do actual promotion/marketing?

A lot of what they promised seems like a pretty big step and I think they just want to push it out when it's ready. Sometimes previewing too much can indirectly negative. I'll quote another user 2 threads back:

>-rework the look and functionality of the match UI, the collection and the deck builder
>-rework NR and weather
>-rework the starter decks
>-add a tooltip system for improved understanding of cards
>-rework the tutorial completely
>-rework the AI for practice matches
>-various QoL changes (reconnect feature)
>-tweak the way MMR works
>-add 20 new cards
>-add more premiums
>-do the usual balancing stuff

I might be naive here, but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Well alright, here is my wishlist for the next cards:
5. Harpy Egg synergy card
4. New options for the existing SK archetypes
3. New ambush card triggered by enemy summon
2. Silver wild hunt unit
1. NG card that interacts with enemy cards in hand (place on top of deck/discard/lock)
2.
1.

New Monster Gold Card
>Harpy Broodmother
>6 power
>Spawn 1 Harpy Egg on the right side at the start of your turn.

get out

My wishes are definitely

1) more tribals. Wild Hunt and Dwarf sybergies are fun and flavorful. I'd enjoy having synergies for vampires, vodyanoi, dryads etc.

2) tight bond from W3 brought back in some form. Redanian Elites are a prime example for this. If you have 3 instances of certain bronzes on the battlefield they could gain a bonus. Any bonus would be dope. Could be promoting the units to gold like Redanian Elites, gain weather immunity, gain strength, get a shield, etc.

3) Night/Day cards. During night, Monster players can summon werewolf cards directly from their deck. During day, Noonwraiths appear etc.

4) Eternal Fire faction if possible.

5) more Northern Realms in the NR faction. Currently it's just Temeria, Redania and Kaedwen. Aedirn, Cintra, Lyria&Rivia and Kovir&Poviss are also important and still missing.

the day and nigh stuff is a bit too much

Messing with your opponent's hand sounds possibly broken and frustrating. Especially if there is no counterplay.

NEW CARDS LEAKED ON REDDIT

>Kalkstein, Neutral Gold
>4 strength, spawn a thunderbolt, swallow or blizzard potion

>Geralt: Axii, Neutral Gold
>6 strength, move the strongest opposing unit to your side for 3 turns

>Troll, Neutral Gold
>5 strength, hahha you actually fell for this

You have to go back.

Axii would be too OP. If anything the monster should go to it's original owner after you pass

8/10
made me check

So that's why he's called "Egg"ebracht.
