Can we have a thread where V6s outperform their V8 competition?

Can we have a thread where V6s outperform their V8 competition?

fpbp

Fuck off alphonse

oups

The Witcher series is fucking garbage anyone that thinks otherwise should consider suicide

reminder that the porsche 919 uses a v6.

LOL

>the best a v8 can manage is 18th

No, it isn't. It's an amazing game. And the protagonist is perfect. You have shit taste

Doesn't the 919 use a v4

no it use a v4
and the lmp2 who finished second used a V8
now clos this thread in shame retard

The protagonist is a cringy faggot with poor dialogue. You should feel bad for having such shit taste in games and men, kill you are self

This is now a V6 Challenger thread.

...

reminder that the fastest le mans lap was set in a v6. sperg more
I don't have shit taste in video games or men.

>tfw no low millage unmolested GNX

...

>tfw Buick doesnt have the balls to make a modern GNX

didn't outperform anything in reliability though

so you admit v8s can't compete?

Isnt the aston martin a v8 though?

>isn't the aston martin a v8
Slower than a broken Toyota v6 around le mans tho

...

Slower than a Porsche V4 around le mans tho

nope. Toyota set the fastest lap in 2017 with a v6. sperg harder

>less power than a 675LT
>still faster
Must be because it uses a V6 instead of a v8.

So why are v6's "faster" than v8s? Is it because once you get to a certain amount of horsepower it just isn't worth carrying around the 2 extra cylinders?

they put out the same power while weighing less

lol good work user

They're highly stressed and won't last long

Even if this is the case, the v8 puts less strain on each cylinder, which is probably why a v6 didn't win Le Mans

it set the fastest lap of the race tho

Name a road going V6 that outperforms a road going V8 with the same induction type in the same segment. Can't really think of anything except the Ford GT

But a v8 of larger displacement will make more power
A v8 of same displacement will rev higher
If they put the same boost pressures on a v8, it would make more power than a v6.
They simply dont make similar engines to compare to.

That's cool, but it fucking broke. Personally I would want something slightly slower if it meant a lot more reliability.

the rxc turbo outperforms the mclaren p1 lm

A hotlap in a 24 hour race is fucking nothing

the car that didn't break had a V4, not a v8
sperg more

>the car that didn't break had a V4, not a v8
>V4
Lmao these are the idiots we deal with

t. retard

Would you consider them the same segment? I feel like the P1 is far more a luxury car than the rxcTurbo
Those exist, makes the block shorter and makes room for those fancy new hybrid motors

The GTE winner was a v8 Aston Martin you retarded cuck

>p1
>luxury
take your meds
reminder that pretty much every layout is better than a v8

and the LMP1 winner was a V4 Porsche

V12 master race, its 2 V6s that balance each other out

>twice as long and heavy as a V6
>no additional power output
V12s are for luxury boats where smoothness is key, not race cars where track times are all that matters

It's because spergs can't compare V6TT with V8TT, or V6 NA with V8 NA

Followed by 6 v8s. Boosted to shit v6s are trash.

yet all those v8s had a slower lap time than a broken Toyota v6. LOL

Boats don't have smooth engines in my experience, lots of them use generator tier 1-3 cylinders

That literally doesn't matter.
>Top Kek I boosted to 800 psi and ran a quarter mile in 8 seconds, too bad there's nothing left of the car unfortunately.

still faster
sperg more

You're mother sucks dicks faster, that doesn't mean she's better at it than you

The V6 MIGHT be able to rev higher with a similar config to the V8, given less friction.

not an argument

You've changed my mind.
>brb strapping nukes to my car so I can go fest
So many retards on this board.

Rekt

>laughing at V4
>Not realizing Aprilia and several other bike manufacturers also use V4s
>Not knowing Aprilia absolutely reks everything at superbike
>Not knowing Yamaha even used a crossplane crank in the YZR M1 and R1 to emulate a V4
>Being this plebian

All things aside though, a V4 makes for a pretty compact engine, which can make it easier to adjust COG in a vehicle

Nobody was talking about any of that shit you fucking idiot, the dude referenced a particular engine and called it a v4 when it's not.

>the Porsche 919 doesn't use a V4
??????????????????

...

every time people post this I laugh because there are people counting this as a victory, meanwhile the Corvette costs like 100k less than the nismo

*40k less
and blows up before a lap

lol

>expecting GM fangirls to have any education
lol

i don't even like GM, I'm just not gonna get baited into overpaying 100k for zero difference in performance if I was looking at either of these shitmobiles

Holy fuck what is this doing here

>100k

lrn to count pls

what did he mean by this?

And then it died

still faster

V6 tarbo Challenger in 2020!

twin tarbo v6 challenger

So long as there's a faster V10 boat anchor,no we can't .

Clearly overstressed

slower than this v6

clearly faster

If rumors are to be believed, it might happen. Next gen Hellcat with a v6 twin turbo because dodge can't meet EPA laws with the hemi.

How do you even afford the internet in Mexico?

Not a street legal car.

*citation needed*

>get money
>pay internet

are you autistic???

EPA laws are such bullshit, there should be exceptions for certain classes of vehicles

If you need money man, I can help. I know Mexico doesn't have the greatest economy. Have you thought about enlisting in the Military? The country is ran by the cartels so you won't ever see any action but you get to stand around in the airports with Xiuhcoatl's.

are you making me a buisness proposal? I'll listen to you

>base Challenger
Straight 4 twin turbo with a new engine codenamed "Hurricane"
>SRT
Pentastar V6 turbo
>SRT Hellcat
Pentastar V6 twin turbo

I'm interested to see what GMC does. The rumors about a mid engine Corvette seem to be true now. EPA laws are going to kill V8s.

Its all rumors right now. Some sites say the V8 will probably be dropped and others say its going to stay. Personally, I think that between the camaro, stang and challenger, the Mustang GT will lose its V8 before the other two will. The Hemi in its current form is ancient as fuck. Time will tell I suppose.

>twin Turbo V6
That's like a 12 cylinder V8.

.

quality post

that was the rumor before trump got elected, new EPA guy is halting all new CAFE and emissions regs

even though the regulations are still in effect until beyond 2020.

>republicans this stupid

and that would be great if it was time attack where setting 1 fast lap mattered

still faster.

>still faster
>can't finish anything like a z06

still faster.

he halted new decreases of emission maximums
