Ryuji is a loud, dumb piece of shit but he's your best physical attacker outside of Yusuke's baton pass gimmick; which is useless in a boss fight.

Ryuji is the highest damage output in the game. Makoto is useless for the most part as Morgana is a much better pocket healer.
