Why is it such a meme car when other small cars exist?

Classy britishness, Japanese cars have done everything it's praised for and even exceeded it since the late 80s.

It's why shit like Jaguar even gets to exist at all even though you'd probably find a more reliable vehicle in one off prototype Italian concept cars built on a budget.

They're fun, nothing else to it (aside from the history of rallies and films etc) People love them, they're a joy to see and even funnier to drive. Nothing beats canning one around a multistorey car park or slipping into tiny gaps in traffic that Chad and Stacey can't pass through whilst in their 'beemer'.

main problem is the n600s engine
but that should be no problem to replace with another motor cycle engine

an A series engine can push up to 130 hp n/a
and the car can be gutted down to 600 kg easy

that said fiat 127 have been made to out run a race tuned mini
despite the fiat having arguably worse suspension and a significant weight disadvantage
