Dropped plastic nozzle from gas can completely inside my gas tank

>dropped plastic nozzle from gas can completely inside my gas tank

How fucked am I?

>being the type of person that doesnt just buy gas before running out

all signs point to misery

I was just procrastinating. I literally ran out on my way to the gas station. My shitbox's fuel guage is inaccurate so I didn't know I was that close to empty

Hint: it won't fit through your fuel filter.

So I could pour a bag of marbles in my tank and be okay as well?

>rent moving truck
>have to return it with 3/4 tank
>fill tank with marbles to displace the remaining fuel and trick the gauge into reading 3/4
>mfw

That's more expensive than filling it up with gas.
5.5 pounds of cheap marbles cost $38.
There are about 180 marbles in 1 pound, so 990 marbles per $36
Each marble is around 11.5mm in diameter.

Displacement of 1 marble =
4/3 pi r^3 = 796 mm^3 or 0.000796 liters

Displacement of $36 worth of marbles:
(990 marbles / 36$) * (0.000796 liter/marble) =
21.615 milliliter/$

Gasoline volume (US prices):
Let's be generous and assume $2 per gallon
So gasoline displacement is 1900 milliliter/$

Ergo filling up a tank with marbles is around 88x more expensive than gasoline

>marbles cost
...nothing if you've got them lying around since childhood.

If fuel filter can't filter it then you are fucked.

It's cheaper to sell them and buy gas

Try selling marbles for 6 bucks per pound on ebay or on a yard sale, lmao.

Even $0.10 per pound of marbles would still be a net gain

>breaking from the jokes for just a second
Not at all. Usually on fuel pump assemblies there's a "sock" that the fuel passes through, which helps keep out larger particles such as rust chips from the fuel. Or in your case, gas caps.

If you are OCD concerned about it, you'll have to drop the fuel tank and pull it out by hand. Then again, considering that your gauge is unreliable in the first place, it just may not be worth the effort to do it. Just be careful next time.

You can probably get it out with a flexible claw

I keep forgetting that gasoline is cheaper than water in the US.

An average player marble is 5/8" or 16mm though faggot.

Still negligible.
2.14 mL displacement.

The high density of glass simply makes marbles unfavorable for the gas tank scenario.

happened to me in all sorts of vehicles, doesn't matter.

To the scenario maybe but almost 3x more than that autistic calculation.

other than the noise

>he's actually autistic
kek

>you'll have to drop the fuel tank
Many tanks have an access plate at the top for replacing the in-tank pump, fuel level sender, etc. There will also be a plate in the trunk floor (or wherever) that can be opened.

Run the car until the tank is almost empty, open up the access, reach in with a nitrile glove and pull the thing out.

If you're gonna disagree here settle it on the touge.

Lowkey, this image turns my high into a trip
