So I'm about 40 hours in and finish Futaba's palace a couple of hours ago.

It's my first Persona, and I've mainly been playing without guides and doing it on my own trying to figure things out for myself, but I am already looking forward to my eventually second play-through.

From what I've personally seen, it appears that the politician (forgot his name), Takemi, and Kawakami are the best confidants? Once you get the SP3 from Takemi, you can pretty much farm non-stop and not worry about SP at all, and Kawakami saves you time, which is always precious, and the old politician basically lets you rob shadows blind to afford all of these things. I've been ignoring Ryugi and Yosuke, mainly because they're dudes.

And it seems like the game doesn't really want you to fall to far behind, so it's hinting at things for you to do (e.g., I get calls from people I've been ignoring).
