Deep Protection doesn't seem situational other than "buff before a fight" though. Its improvements seem all around good to me, especially since I can never avoid the urge to engage in melee combat, despite trying to play a caster.

ds3 invasions are pretty cancer though

i think ds3 is the hardest souls game when it comes to 1v3/4

i win my fair share of ganks but there are those invasions where the host has 2 straight sword + 1 ugs phantoms and proceeds to run away to heal everytime he takes a hit. you wont be able to win those without a cheeky 1hit hornet parry no matter how good you are.

talk shit all you want about 1/2 pvp but in 1 you could stunlock/chainstab people to death if they were ganking and in 2 ganking wasnt that common iirc.

in 3 every invasion in dlc areas is at least a 1v3

First phase is just an Estus sponge anyways, just equip a shield and he won't be able to do shit to you. Treat it as a warm-up for the real boss.

I was going to bring over the Frayed Blade, Life Ring +3, Sage Ring +2, and Gael's blade and Crossbow to a different character. A kind user yesterday actually helped me out, but my character's starting class was wrong for the SL I was hoping to hit (sl60), so that was my bad.

Idea:
Most of the body buff spells in the game should be passive, exchanging an attunement slot for a bonus that's simply always working for no additional cost instead of requiring a cast and having a time limit.

Tears of Denial would refresh only when you die, warp or rest at a bonfire
Regen miracles would heal for less per tick but be constant. Bountiful Sunlight would be a visible regen aura
Buffs like Carthus Beacon and Deep Protection and whatnot would simply always work

Basically, body buff spells ought to be rings that take an attunement slot and have a stat requirement instead of a list of canned animations you have to perform at the start of every fight.
The only ones that would still require casting are weapon buffs, Power Within and Sacred Oath, and Sacred Oath ought to be more powerful in co-op pve as a result.

Lifehunt Scythe is weak and slow and the 'heal' effect basically doesn't exist. It's the worst offensive miracle in the game, which is saying a lot because Emit Force exists.

Deep Protection doesn't give enough of any one thing to matter. It's the kind of 'gibs me dat' stat bundle that appeals on the surface to new players, but in reality is just a placebo. If you need stamina regen, much a green blossom. If you need poison/bleed resist, swap the appropriate rings. In most cases, the boosted defense won't even add another hit to your life so it's completely just there to make new players feel like they made themselves stronger for 60 seconds.

Farming covenant shit led me to 4m souls. Don't know whether to go past 120 and have a fun character for pve only, or stay 120 for pvp. Maybe I'll make another pvp character, and keep my platinum character for pve and generally being able to use all weapons and spells.

Luck is worthless compared to actual builds. The nerf to Rouge means only Bleed infusion is worth it (and even then that scales like 3 buildup per 5-8 Luck), and Poison has never dealt worthwhile damage even when stacked with Toxic.

You can do meme casting with that Rosaria's Fingers staff, but that's about it.
