ITT: Cars you wish were imported to your country of residence

...

I am actually free and can import anything I want

Ford somehow considered South America wasn't a continent worthy enough to import the Fiesta ST and Focus ST, despite the Clio RS and Golf GTI selling like hot cakes.

What sort of shitehole do you live in? I can import whatever the fuck I like.

3000lbs
Snap oversteer
Slower around a track than a 172

>rent a GTI in chile
>2016 GTI
>manual windows and mirrors
>ABA engine
>fucking automatic

This import bullshit only implies to Amerifats and a few other shitholes, so for everyone else ITT: cars you dream of importing but they'd eternally have the steering wheel on the wrong side.

I feel like the Tacoma would sell alright enough here. For a lot of folks the Hilux might be a tad too small (especially the double-cab), while the Tundra might be a bit too big and fat

Give it a 200hp 3.0l diesel or similar, plus both automatic and manual transmission available and it'll sell

That looks like a comfy truck.

But the Tacoma's bed is 2 inches narrower than the Hilux's between the arches. And the Tacoma is only available with a crew cab 5' bed and extended cab 6' bed just like the Hilux, but the Hilux is also available as a single cab with a 7'8" bed. So in all regards to cargo space the Tacoma is worse, it's only got a 1 inch higher ground clearance (easily fixed with different tires on the Hilux) and it's simply a bit bigger for no reason because Americans like their shit needlessly big.

...

You could probably - with much effort - build a LHD Evo wagon in Europe, the Lancer was sold here and you could import an American Evo.

this with the 3.2 liter 320 hp engine

I should've explained a bit more - thats what I mean, it could be a "better" truck for those who want a more spacious and luxurious interior, with less focus on being a worksman vehicle & maximized cargo space and carrying capacity

It is a little bit of "american thinking", wanting a truck with more luxury and less cargo space; but I suppose that having more different vehicles to chose from is always a good thing

I wish I could get an Ute desu.

>those who want a more spacious and luxurious interior, with less focus on being a worksman vehicle
Then why buy a truck, you fucking fairy? Also there's already the Amarok if you want a "I want to look like I do shit when in fact I get my fat butt massaged" shitbarge.

>those who want
For those who want. Thats exactly what it is. I don't really give all too much of a shit what people drive... sure, I might wonder why somebody who never does anything truckworthy drives an F350 when something like a Nissan Navara or even a fucking VW Golf would be objectively better - but thats the beauty of being free to drive what you want; nothing is stopping you

And I already drive a 14 year old Hilux myself, extended cab with fuck-all equipment... does that qualify for a real enough pickup?

>I don't really give all too much of a shit what people drive
God damn crypto-Americans. This way of thinking is why our cities drown in smog and traffic jams. Who cares if everyone drives completely oversized shitbarges as long as they can barely afford them, right? Of course crapped up cities aren't an issue in EMPTY FUCKING NORWAY.

The clio V6 is actually as fast as a Clio 2.0 while using 200% more fuel and weighing more and being unusable for more than 20 minutes on the road.

It's a toy.

must be cool to play pretend you're firemen with your boyfriend

>Renault

Well, would you prefer it to be moderately/heavily regulated?

We're free to pick whatever we want here aswell (maybe even more free, as we can import and register just about anything, with no 25 year rule), but you could say that its somewhat regulated through the classifications systems that makes some vehicles very expensive/difficult to own

You can get something like an F350, a Tundra or similar for quite an alright price if its registered as a "light truck", which makes the registration fees and whatnot much smaller, and also allows you to use the vehicles full potential in terms of payload and towing. You will however need the light truck license, which is quite expensive and also needs a renewal every five years, plus the vehicle needs a yearly inspection

Then you have the tax on horsepower & emissions which can make some cars quite expensive

I don't follow, but for a fun fact; the guy I was working with that day is a volunteer firefighter

He has such a nice, tight ass

Yeah, well, it's similar here in Germany, and it's an alright compromise in order not to turn the country's infrastructure and society into a completely car-shackled shitshow like America.

fellow euros can relate

I suppose... I mean, there is a reason why the more "practical" van-platform has caught on a lot more in our part of the world

Not really, we can almost freely import them with minimal restrictions and I can in fact find 27 for sale on Mobile starting at 1600€.

I even found one for sale here in Norway... is the dash as wide as it looks?

how is it that americans can build and drive the worst diy monster truck rat rod coal burning death trap on open roads, but can't have a fucking twingo?

But why

>*Nissan

I've seen one or two here in the UK. They will be very easy to import like most cars, but they don't really appeal to many people here. It certainly isn't at the top of my list for cars that I want to import if I had the money.

There are people in the UK who don't realise how lucky we are compared to the rest of Europe when it comes to owning cars. Insurance on pic related $258 a year if you're over 25 in my area, road tax is $2,600 for the first year then $180 after that, an inspection is between $25 and $50 depending on how friendly you are with someone in an MOT centre.

Petrol is a bit of a killer, but I've seen loads of the GT's around my area so petrol prices haven't put people off. In fact I don't think I've seen a single RHD 6th gen Mustang that hasn't been a GT.

the Elf 150 for sure.

>no BMW M3 GTR

I know it is an ultra rare. Only two street-legal examples were built.

where?

mk1 / mk2 ford escort
alpine a110
Peugeot 205 gti
renault 5 turbo
and pic related

Lobbying from the big three and muh jobs

Dodge Charger in right hand drive. i know they're laughed at on Veeky Forums but i still want one.

you can import them in LHD obviously, but there's 4 for sale on autotrader, one SVX V6 and 3 SRT/Hellcats for about £60,000 each.

same with the challenger. I was hoping after we "traded" the Focus RS with the yanks for the Mustang that GM would follow suit.

>americans driving around in Astra/Vectra VXRs while we get Challengers and Chargers in correct hand drive
>tfw this isnt happening

I came

can'y they make a diy rat rod monstertruck twingo replica tho?

Cars that didn't cost a lot to buy & repair, that's what I wish we had.

...

>no driver
>flames out of exhaust
self driving, i guess?

old beetles, you mean?

It was Mercedes not the big three that lobbied for the import ban.

Festiva

...

We would have fucking crashed or otherwise ruined all those cars we banned anyway.

What's your point?

Nah he's there. Look for the white helmet and black visor

...

lol you got a shitty Brazilian Golf with GTI badges.

Did they even make a LHD cosmo?

fuk u negga the amarok is a very nice "truck"
it is the most europeanized version of an american thing and it works because superior deutsch engineering

nah im pretty sure they were jap only

No chance of one with a wheel on the wrong side then.

jej holy shit

...

Gonna bump the shoit out of the thread, but whatever. Still bummed I'd have to shell out well over 25k jewgolds for one of the few, if not the only exemplar in the country

To add to that, this. Any generation of Evo whatsoever, honestly. Only way to get one is to find one that's been set up as a dedicated (not street-legal) rally car, and even then there are probably less than twenty in the whole country

Also, I'd crawl through hell in my knees to get a Galant VR-4. Let's not even talk a Legnum VR-4

S1 Elise. The S2s are too expensive in the states.

Honestly I'd rather have a hardtop, so I'd go for the Exige.

it doesn't really matter since v6 was rwd. designers had to be insane with this one
>gentlemen, we have to design a fun car. now, list cool things
>rwd is cool
>mid-engine is cool
>power is cool
>hot hatches are cool
>so, mid-engined rwd hot hatch with hot-hatch wheelbase

shame how rare and expensive it is

Just so I could tell people
>JUS CHUCK 'ER IN THE UTE MATE

Holy fuck Dodge, bring this is to Australia you cunts.

You don't want it, it's poorly made and unreliable. Chrysler products are absolute dogshit. Worse than GM (Holden). Only nigs buy FCA products.

But why? Every jap truck is a fucking nightmare to drive. It's rough af and really slow on highway. Yes, reliable, and takes a lot of offence but that's about it.

Pretty much all you want for a workhorse, anything else is a bonus.

>poorly made and unreliable
Do you have sources to that claim?

Can confirm. Chrysler/Dodge vehicles consistently rank at the bottom of the barrel in reliability and customer satisfaction

Xr6 and xr8 moldels.

have a (you) shit for brains

its funny that little brother 172 is better in literally every way

After looking at reliability, FCA is definitely at the bottom of the list. However most of them are their trucks and the Dodge Darts. Chargers/Challengers seem to be in the clear, but I might be grasping at straws at this point.

You really just want the xr6 turbo
Trust me

t. 4x Barra turbo owner, ex-xr8 owner

Hnnnnnnng/10
>tfw Aussies make more 'Murican cars than we do

Muh dik

Pic related would be in the list of "wish I could own". Closest I could get is a 280zx, and even those are ridiculously overpriced rust heaps (or museum-tier pieces). If I'm picky, I could get it with a "historical" import permit, but I was told I couldn't drive more than ~3000 miles a year, and fuck that

Also! Honda S2000 is probably the greatest "unreachable" car overall for me. Small displacement engine (for the insultingly high gas prices) with good power and reliability, god-tier chassis/suspension, and gorgeous looks (personal of course, but been a fan since forever). Only thing that could be better is if it wasn't convertible but rather a standard coupe. Pretty much my 10/10 when everything is considered...

Too bad the only example in the country has been turbo'd and other unspeakable stuff, and goes for the modicum of 95k US jewgolds

>Captcha: permanent motor
Holy fuk

Same here

Why weren't these brought over to the states as a Nissan? They've probably would have been ahead of the hot hatch race.

Barely any old japanese sports cars out here

Those sure are some nice racing inspire cosmetic enhancements on that civic

There is something seriously wrong with this picture.

I wish I could import a 90s to present day TVR, I love those cars.

For a guy who only likes trucks for some damn reason, I have 2 rams and a S10. I want one of these. the old el camino just doesn't do it for me.

...

You're on the wrong side, koala kiwi bong.

I rented a Grand Marquis when I visited Murrika with family in 2006 or so and I felt lonely on the passenger seat.

As an American, Ford, pls gib inline 6

Kick it up another 200k for the S2K because of them racing movies. At least the pre-facelift ones.

>Lobbying from the big three and muh jobs
Or maybe you could try posting the right answer which is that the French had a terrible time attempting to sell cars here in the US so they stopped trying
If lobbying from the big three actually worked than Toyota and Honda wouldn't be taking a giant shit all over the big three like they do everyday in the US

Yuros actually like these cars?
Here these cars are known as convenient hearses for old people to die in

Europe never officially got them, so they're borderline exotics over here.

Never seen one in person here. 60-70's american cars are much more popular than 90-2000's, so I don't expect to see many anyways

I rented a dodge charger one time for work last summer
I found out the windshield wipers were broken when I tried to wipe some bird shit off the windshield
Think about how much of a fuckup car company you are when you can't build a functioning windshield wiper.

But the Europeans are litteraly gassing themselves with diesel engines.

>All of those shark fins
He must get great radio reception

>Implying I'd tolerate a Union Jack on my flag
I'm insulted

Not really, but if you're going on a trip to the US you might as well rent an American barge instead of a midsize Nissan.

You do, but not as a daily. Comically unreliable but fucking holy mother of jesus they sound incredible.

Subaru why do you loathe us so?

Where do you live that has no Evos?

You do realize there's a company that imports those and sells em for like $40 - $70k?
