It's a preference, Niff441 was arguing for the whole day that DE is greater than IFHE because it's easier to carry games when you set multiple ships on fire and I think he is right, but then again, it would be better if we had actual numbers to go with.

I think you actually get a week of premium time once your account is "mature" enough. So if you are willing to grind like crazy, you can easily get to T9 in that week

You might be in luck, because WG just implemented +/-1 MM for World of Tanks. e.g. in a match you can only get tier 8 and 9 tanks, instead of having a +/-2 tier spread.
Hopefully they end up doing the same in WoWS as well.
