1990 VW Golf GTi mkII - Hot or Not?
>whats not to love
its a volkswagen
hot, make sure you get the supercharged 16 valve if you're getting a mkII golf gti
Do it. They look great.
Ford fag detected
Bought a non-GTI 1.6 8v model and never looked back. Super easy to wrench on, incredibly simple and logical piece of engineering.
They're super fun to fuck around with. Get it!
>Whats not to love?
5K with 200,000KMs
Don't you think that's kind of steep for a 27 year old car?
Laughed
maybe, but its in good condition and I cant find any better
Engine/transmission failure likely?
kek
this is in euro?
dude thats very pricey. got an 03 gti for that much but im in the states
>Engine/transmission failure likely?
I don't know shit about cars user. But I will say this again. They're asking five fucking grand for a twenty seven year old car with 200000KM.
All cars can have engine and transmission failure if they're not maintained properly, again not a car mechanic, I have worked on other machines though and will say a little grease does fucking wonders, and if someone doesn't take real good care of their car, its unlikely it would have made 200000km in 27 years.
Either way, add to the price of the car, the price of the all fluids/filters/brakes/others you're going to have to replace as soon as you take ownership because you don't know what has been done till then.
What matters is, if you think its worth it to you, then its worth it. Personally, I wouldn't give anymore than $2000 for any car with more than 15 years old.

Good points, stuff to think about. thanks user
>no air conditioning
thats where you're wrong buddy
So a twin turbo supra should be like 6k right?
16v g60...
Only came on the Limited. Bout 76 made world wide.
Yeah but now you own a Mk4 golf, the least popular GTi ever made.

Fail Wheel Drive
Go away Ameritard.
In the UK a well executed restomod MK1 GTI can go for ~10k GBP. Do it OP, just make sure the body has no rust, everything else is an easy fix.
I'm not an amerifat and I was just memeing, I generally hate FWD but if any car goes well with it it's the Golf. Or the 205.
>5 door
>unibrow headlight mod
>faggy wheels
>no red trim
...
>stancefag
even worse
why do faggots feel the urge to ruin perfectly fine cars?

This gives me such a hard on
not an argument
I know, I know...
I still love old golfs tho.
Really, drive a well sorted 16v mk2 and you'll know what I'm talking about.
>the least popular GTi ever made
>not the 2.slow mk3
Have you driven an ABF 16v or VR6 mk3?
I specifically said 2.slow mk3 though. Nothing against the 8v engine in itself, it's sturdy as fuck, but it's not GTI material.
Yup the 2L 8v Mk3 golf GTi is slow.
Mk3 Mk4 are best for parts into the Mk1 or Mk2 really.
But no point getting to much HP or TQ though, at the end of the day its still an old fwd car. Guess it really depends on your plans for it.
