>space race is over
Russia was just leading the race trough the first turn.

But not the Moon Marathon

Nobody is competing anymore.

Elon Musk just yesterday announced plans of sending a man to mars yesterday. Both India and China are developing their space programs too.

with that concept of space race nobody will ever win it

AMERICUNTS GOT R3KT LIKE IN VIETNAM

>space race will end when space is over
Whoever is leading when humanity ends will win.

kinda shitty
no one will ever get to boast about it

Another way to win is by eliminating all opponents.

>Russia
I'm sure you mean USSR and that doesn't exist anymore.

Also
>we totally sent a man in space 2 weeks before the fascist americans yo, honest, believe us

>number of Americans who walked on the moon
12

>number of Russians who walked on the moon
0

>benfits of walking on the moon
0

>if they did something before americans then it's fake xD

no wonder your retarded nation has third world tier homicide rate

Whoever makes quake/eve style resurection wins

strong correlation between walking on the moon and not collapsing

current data insufficient

there's a reason why it's not called 'the moon race' :^)

Because there`s no Hollywood in Russia.

Russia didn't win it - the USSR did.

Fag.

Nice meme.

one lunochod > dozen of Imperialists

BTW the sky is blue.

No, they've claimed victory. The goal was too be the first to send satellites, humans and animals into space.

But at what cost ;_;

I just know the>India
Powered by biomass made from protists living in their curry ?

German engineering won

Memes aside, their original designs were simply inefficient to launch anything into space, let alone implant a man on the moon.

>Elon Musk

Cool. He'll raise a bunch of capital for this mission, then use it to launch another unrelated venture that he will then raise a bunch of capital for, so he can launch another unrelated venture.

How could a country where corruption is an established part of culture send the first satellite into space?

Except they didn't, Explorer-1 launch was after Sputnik-1

US corruption pales compared to Russian corruption m8.

>first satellite
>first animal in space
>first person in space
>first spacewalk
>first remote controlled rover
>first space station
Soviet space tech was legit.

oh look. Another /int/ellectual.

I wonder how deep does corruption goes, considered it's supposed to be a secret thingy. How are we supposed to compare such a thing?

Is it possible to win a race with no finish line?

I would guess by how much of it is exposed. Which is a paradox in itself as the more corruption is exposed, the less corruption there is.

>developing
they are both mature space programs.
China focuses on attention grabbing headlines.
India largely focuses of satellite deliveries for cheap and a few scientific probes like the one that transported the probe that found water on the moon.

Yeah except the ussr send a satilite into orbit while the us merely did a big parabolic flight

Sure it's supposed to be hidden, though it's also supposed to be fought against. In countries like Russia they won't fight it so no need to hide it, hence all Russians got to buy car cameras.

US matched everything USSR did in space.
USSR couldn't do shitload of things US did in space.

Fun fact, every solar system planet and dwarf planet explored to date was first explored by NASA.

The only Soviet achievment was doing the first succesful Venus landing, plus they did a few useless Mars landings.

But Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Ceres, Vesta are all American domains, with some European contributions.

That's not how races work. If you came in 1st place in every round but the last one, you lost.

The US could do everything the Soviets did, only the US did it in public and therefore couldn't just sweep it under the rug when rockets or men blew up.

The Soviets couldn't get to the Moon. Had they the race would have continued.

They've done all that mattered, you outdoing them at one doing doesn't change a thing.

>but the last one
Landing the man on the moon wasn't even remotely the last round.

Except the US did everything the Soviets did. Also all actual space exploration outside of Earth's orbit has been almost exclusively done by the US. And Russia hasn't sent any probes.

Has Russia done anything that the US wasn't able to do?
And as said before the US had a handicap that Soviets didn't

In the context of the Space Race it was. The Soviets basically stopped. They never out did that.

Sure humans (mostly the US) kept exploring space, no one considers the Space Race to be on going now.

Nope. America got to the Moon first.

No one cares who crosses the 90 yard line first in the 100 yard dash.

They took pictures of venus.

And many other shit the americans never did or did after the fall of the U.S.S.R.

Rockets are more reliable.

And the space station, that's an actual first attempt to live in space, therefore colonization.

Space exploring wasn't just an american thing, that was kind of the point, it was a global goal.

Even Zaire had a space program.

But of course americans ruin everything.

You won, we all lose.

>The Soviets basically stopped. They never out did that.
Space stations were significantly more important than anything moon related.

>americans trying to justify themselves when the NASA has to use russian launchers to send their stuff into space because american ones are too shitty

you can't make this shit up

keked

bumping because spess.

What space race?

It was just a bunch of gommies sending monkeys and other slavic people into space while the Americans were shooting a movie.

Lunochod was made mostly from Brezhnev spare parts, so you can count that.

Russia has a higher homicide rate Ivan

and packed it in at the same time.

Humanity chose to feed the third world instead.

We all lose.

Except they don't

Right now US is reliant on Soyuzes since theres no American space capsule yet to transport people to space, but outside that the US doesn't uses Russian launch services, they either use ULV's Deltas or Atlases, SpaceX rockets or European Arianes.

Yes the Atlas V has a Russian engine, since shit was so abundant and cheap in the 90s they decides to just buy them up, basically capitalism won. But all other launchers, the Delta, Falcon, Minotaur etc. are all-American.

>And many other shit the americans never did or did after the fall of the U.S.S.R.
Like? The only space-related thing the US hasn't done was taking pictures of Venus surface, and exploraring Phobos, which mission in Russian style was only half succesful.
>And the space station
Skylab, which was larger than the Mir even lol.

>Rockets are more reliable.
Theres hardly any difference

Yeah they fell behind at the only pointless things, like risking the life of people just to land on a piece of rock.

In the meantime they won the autonomous drone marathon, by sending the first fully automated drones to land on moon, gather 10 times the amount of rocks America ever got, and take off back to Earth. Something that took thousands of Americans and tens of millions dollars to achieve on Mars 40 fucking years later.

And then they built the first fucking space station.

America is shit.

bump

>it's a butthurt non-Americans revise history episode.

There's also a strong correlation between walking on the moon and getting cucked by Russia

So you're trying to refute their argument by admitting that they're right?

>it's a butthurt Americans move the goalposts episode

>they don't
>they do

Why did you even make this post?

Best shitpost ITT

>russians are STILL butthurt we beat them to the moon
I mean it's not like they have anything else to be proud of so I kind of understand why they're so defensive over losing the space race.

Last I checked there is only one flag that has left the solar system and that's the good ol' Stars and Stripes

You have a muslim in that picture and a golden record, with people from all over the world, but you choose to focus on the flag.

I honestly don't get it, I don't fucking care if NASA is shit. I am more than willing to accept that NASA has their pants down and that it will be four more years until they get a rocket.

But revising history? For what purpose?

notice how all of it was made in the USA

A stupid arguement, because if you're going to argue that manned Moon missions are "pointless" then so is spending billions putting tin cans in orbit, or playing with rc cars on other planets.

Regardless, one point stands: America is the only country to have put people on another planet. No other country has done it.

>americans still think the moon mattered
Moon race is Kennedy's invention.

>delicious tears of jealousy

No, it was Von Braun's. His moon mission concepts (including landers pic related) go back to 1952.

You may post in this thread if your nation has done some driving on the moon.

Not so fast, everyone that isn't the United States....
