Why are fords such notoriously shitty cars?

why are fords such notoriously shitty cars?
I have an 03 ford taurus, cars at 143,000 miles and already i've had
>dead battery
>dead alternator
>cracked serpentine belt
>switch for wipers is busted
>air valve hose cracked clean in half
>oil leak
I bought this car used for $2000 4 years ago and its biting me in the ass. should i just go get another used car?

>bought 10 year old car for 2k
>Complaining about replacing wear parts

Get back on the bus.

>2000 dollar car
>complaining about less than 500 dollars in replacing wear items and 1 electronic

Ever wonder why they sell so many? Because they fall apart after 4 years. Same reason why Apple sells so much shit. That and the fanboyism.

The oil leak is present on literally every single Ford taurus. Just be happy yours isn't rusted to shit. Also, LPT: make sure the oil filter is tightened well if you don't do the job yourself. It's a bitch to do so a lot of shops half ass it, causing oil to then drip on to and kill the starter.

>switch for wipers is busted
>air valve hose cracked clean in half
>oil leak
These are only the cars fault and they can be easily fix except for the oil leak.

>Why does a car that's 14 years old have wear and tear and need maintenance?
Are you a woman?

>$2000 on a car
>143,000 miles
> Bought 4 years ago
>complaining about wear

Jesus you're retarded.

He's American, what else did you expect?

Ford US are monkey models for the monkey market. Gimped with cheap components and design because americans wouldn't know a good car if it hit them.

Sounds like you have an old car.

Get some tools, make friends with the guys at Auto Zone, you're going to learn to be a mechanic.

My MR2 is old as fuck, and I find new things I've got to fix every week. I also don't live in the US, so I can't just go to Pep Boys or O'Riley every time I need a part. Finding stuff is always an adventure.

You've got to learn to make a hobby out of taking car of your car and make it fun. Learn as much as you can. That way, when you blow your head gasket, you'll still be able to buy that new phone/game console you wanted, instead of forking over $700 to a mechanic.

my 03 taurus is over 180k km, had to replace the head gasket and timing chain gasket, that's pretty much it

Do you think everybody calling him retarded is not American?

>why is my badly maintained 14 year old car not reliable
Is this b8?

4th gen tauruses did not live up to their earlier namesakes that built the reputation of reliability. I had a 93, a 94, and an 03 and the later has had many more problems than the earlier cars. I dont think its a ford thing though as my earlier cars were very reliable and I had a bronco that was very reliable as well.

This is b8

They aren't you just have to maintain them.

That being said Ford has had some rough times when they had to be cheap about their build quality which is evident in certain models that are best left avoided.

Things like the taurus and escort come to mind. They are undoubtedly shitty.

>I have one of the worst, most bland cars Ford ever made
>it's 14 years old and I paid $2000 for it
>why is Ford such an unreliable company?

exactly thats what Im saying. I had a Mustang that was abused the fuck out of and been in an accident. It gave me trouble often but I didn't blame ford, just the previous owner for being a retard and drifting it

>Girlfriend bought a 2001 Ford Focus about 4 years ago off craigslist for $2000
>Squeaks non-stop and sounds like a lawn-mower
>Every year it fails inspection and we zip tie and rig anything it needs, the biggest fix was new struts, couldn't have put more than 1k in it so far
>she refuses to consider a new car until it fails inspection and doesn't want to spend money on parts
I have a new respect for the Focus though, considering how the previous owners treated it. ODO currently at 188,000
