Because it gives you burst like 1 turn sooner at most. Meanwhile you loose out on a bunch of damage bonus from the soulbreak themselves because you have a gauge booster RM instead of something that boosts your damage.

Put abilities in first place but try to save points for when you get to 2*, also the grids are available at the wiki check the path you want, and use your points accordingly.
