Pretty much this. VII is okay, but it has its fair share of flaws and it would be nice if they fixed them for the next game.
I'm not sure what the plot would be, though. The console wars theme has been milked dry and the current market situation doesn't give us anything "big" to build a story on.

I asked cause I thought people were maybe tired of V's gameplay (especially those that played through the RB titles in place of the originals). I think it would be nice if they made the next mainline title like mk2 or even the original with all the flaws ironed out.

I also think they should utilize spin-offs to experiment with different types of RPGs, such as something similar to the Kiseki titles or Tales of/Star Ocean titles or perhaps even a traditional turn-based game.

I just want big nep to get her own game.

IMO, it'd be more interesting to go for one-shot like RB1 with different settings. Like said in some recent threads: a game about the computer war (you can easily go for a game in
3 chapters like VII or 3 games), about the arcade war (big advantage: you can keep Blanc and Neptune)

Or just games taking place in others dimensions with the same character, with differents settings, like, one where Gamindustri is in a World War, 4 stories and 4 endings, each with one land winning the war.
