IS mechs are mostly unviable in pugs. Moreso after the skill tree update that will remove all quirks. It's still alive, but PGI's doing a damn good job trying to kill it. Pugging is still a crapshoot of people that know at least somehow how to play the game and the assaults DC'ing at start, people not targeeting, and trying to leg a mech when the CT is in the red or running away from a mech with no weapons.

Quirks are remaining, offensive quirks are being lessened but IS mechs will still have all their armor and structure and some of their weapon quirks.

split the weapons up into 2 groups of 3 or split them as a group of 4 and a group of 2?

i'd go 3 and 3 for near constant one-two punches FotNS style ATATATATATATTATA with srm4's high rof.

a third group could be all 6 on chainfire, for when you want to fwoosh indefinitely and hose something down ( or are high on heat and don't want to risk a 3 weapon hit)

or if you can handle it and want constant fwoosh for sure, 3 groups of 2.

I'd do each arm and the CT as a group, that way you can peek either side if you choose and not waste ammo shooting into the dirt.
