MOVE BITCH
GET OUT OF THE WAY

>he actually defends some of the current speed limits in the US

>He doesn't drive like he's suicidal
>He doesn't apex every turn
>He doesn't pass on double yellows
>He doesn't do handbrake turns in his FF shitbox in the winter
Do you hate driving?

I weld a little car shaped plate on my bumper every time someone totals theirs being impatient idiots.

Cruise or lose.

so what chu gonna do
tailgate 1 kp/h under the speed limit ?

>passing on double yellows is legal where I live

>road with two lanes in each direction, straight as an arrow
>turning lanes for days, not a single turn without one
>55 mph

seriously, wtf

>expressway
>actually going SLOWER than the speed limit
Give me one (1) good reason people who do this shouldn't have their licenses revoked

Because it would go against the "safety" narrative that they've built in order to rob the public via ticketing drivers in non-collision circumstances.

Quit with the speed kills meme speed doesn't kill its the sudden stop that does.

Nigger what the fuck are you even trying to say

>muh revenue generation meme
Basically

It's funny because I've heard lawyers from a couple states say that cities and states are more than likely losing money doing speed enforcement

>Veeky Forums is one person

>doesn't realize that posted speed limits are actually far below what modern cars are capable of, with the intention of generating revenue

they will never learn

You REALLY think plebs there could handle driving faster on average? Really?
Talk to me again after you got T-boned by the texting cunt in her SUV.

>not breaking the sound barrier in your V6 to the point that atmospheric pressure crushes your heart and lungs and kills you

That's a bold faced lie. I've spoken to many police officers and a Crown Prosecutor. They make tons of money off speeding tickets alone. It's the larger tickets, like dangerous driving, that people often contest in court - that's where they start to lose money.

But ultimately that money is recouped via higher insurance premiums, on which higher taxes are levied.

>thinking you can outsmart the eternal jew

People already do. In Ontario the average speed limit for a highway is 80kmh (approx. 55mph). People regularly do 100kmh, without issue. Yet tickets are constantly written for these infractions, albeit in maybe 2% of all cases (of all people who speed, only a fraction receive tickets).

The issue isn't SPEED, it's that people aren't driving properly. They're playing on their phones, not signalling, not checking mirrors/blindspots, etc.

Crack down on this shit first and foremost. $1,000 fine for anyone caught texting and driving, and their insurance company MUST find out about it. Second offence is a license suspension for 14 days. Third offence - license revoked for 90 days. Fines should increase with each infraction.

Someone changing lanes without signalling? Charge them with unsafe driving, $400 ticket and insurance finds out about it.

People WILL smarten the fuck up and cause fewer accidents if they know they'll be held ACCOUNTABLE. Right now it's all about "speed" and 99% of those tickets are just paying a fine.

Can second that, around here the main highways have posted limits of 100kph, many longer stretches it's normal to see most people averaging 125-135 when traffic will allow it

Tfw I know people who make apex turns to blind corners because laziness to turn the wheel

One got his car totaled by himself and other lost his license.

Heh get on my level kid i never wear a seatbelt

You're dum

The 401 is basically 130km/h from the GTA to Montreal. It amazes me how a slow driver still does 110 on the highway here. Honestly, 400-series highways should be 120km/h with a grace period up to 130, but beyond that it would be demerit points

It means maximum speed

I hate how normies think it means required speed

benchracing translates well to the road

Slowtard detected. Stay in the right lane where you belong.

The only time I do the speed limit (and by doing, it universally means doing +5 of the limit) is when I'm in residential.

Highway and I'm doing 10-15+ if not in rush hour.

>main highways have posted limits of 100kph

Damn that's harsh, It's 110 in Alberta. On a good day the right lane is doing 130 and the left lane is 140+. Other days the left lane is doing 90 while the right lane is doing 130. It's a terrible situation.

>he's actually such a tarbo cu.ck that obeys the posted limits
Good hubby, now clean up your wife

Dunno if its province-wide, but I think they recently jacked up the fines/penalty for distracted driving. Even playing with your phone at a stoplight counts now.

This

OH NOOOOOOOO
A FIGHT'S OUT

>playing with your phone at a stoplight counts now
Great.
If there's one thing I'm really fucking sick of, it's assholes who can't be bothered to watch for the green light, because muh phone. Instead, people have to honk to get them moving, 2 or 3 of these dumbshits and you'll sit for another cycle.

>he thinks sitting in the passing lane is cool because he's going the speed limit

Are you saying it doesn't?

I honestly dont give a single fuck about speed limits. I drive the speed I feel comfortable driving at. I drive very slow sometimes if i feel its necessary, like when going through a small town center or parking lot for example. But most of the time im 20-30 mph over the posted limit.

Yeah im pretty cool, you dont have to say.

>honestly dont give a single fuck about speed limits.
WHOA, watch out guys, we have a badass over here!

I honestly don't give a fuck about sexual consent. I like to drive over to Target and follow milfs to their car. When they're bent over their trunk unloading groceries, I pull the yoga pants down and start railing that domesticated bitch. Never pull out.

I'm cooler than you buddy.

>Rated top speed of my 1.4 Fiesta is 104mph
>I managed 115mph today on the motorway with the AC on.

How does that work?

you've gone 11 mph over the maximum speed of your car. that'll be a hefty ticket for you, sir!

the fan was pushing you along

I though it was because I was going anti-clockwise, causing time to dilate.

>120km/h limit on highways
>regularly do more than 150km/h, sometimes even reaching 180km/h
Never been stopped or got a ticket.

Just like your father was pushing your shit along

>speed all the time
>cops never bother me
>only soccer moms get mad

IM BOUT TO PUT YO MOTHAFUCKIN LIGHTS OUT

GET THE FUCK BACK
GUARD YO GRIIIIIIIIIIIIILLE

people should just chill a bit more

I can chill at home or in the mountains. I don't need to waste my time getting places at other people's expenses. Just because you have time to chill doesn't mean the 1000 people behind you do. You know what's chill? The bus.

As much as I would like punishment for people who misbehave in traffic, where do you draw the line on when such behaviour is unacceptable?

>changing lanes without signalling on an empty 5 lane motorway
>setting the gps while cruising at a constant speed with peripheral vision of the road
>stopping then driving through a red light because it's the middle of the night and I have a full view
And the obligatory
>doing 140km/h pull in a late 90s gt car with 1200 dollar tires on an empty highway late at night

There is nothing I hate more than being punished for a non crime simply because under certain circumstances it could be dangerous to some people

>integra was rated for 233km/h
>would do 260 on the speedo

Most speedometers are at least 10% out

This. "Sunday driver" has "Sunday" in it for a reason. It's probably better you stay off the road if you can't focus

i'm perfectly chill when going sideways thru a curve at 120mph with one hand on my dick and a blunt in my grill

This so much. Also fining people a set amount, not based on income or something, just rubs me the wrong way.

Actually I would consider that to be socialist to fine people based on their income. I actually look forward to the day I can be like Rob Spaghetti and get speeding tickets for fun

>watch out guys, we have a badass over here!
Bud, just let Neil DeGrasse Tyson do him.
You do you.

This

>fining people a set amount, not based on income or something, just rubs me the wrong way.
You're in favor of that Scandinavian shit where speeding ticket amounts are based on income?
Because that's just crazy talk.

>110 mph in a motherfucking diesel fiat punto
the absolute madman

My 1.5l diesel Clio could hit 110mph on the speedo, which probably meant I was doing 95. I could drive that thing flat out absolutely everywhere and rarely break any laws.

hello pennsylvania man

Nah Ontario actually

I drive like a fuck head on recalled takata airbags is that suicidal?

There is literally nothing wrong with me driving fast when there is no car around me. Of course I'll slow it down when I get near other cars because who knows if they decide to pull into my lane thinking I'm not there

>cop shortage where i live
>speed limits are pretty much not enforced
>people go 10mph over the limit on the main highway through the state and drive right past cops who do nothing

>Passing on double yellow means getting up on the pavement (sidewalk) where I live

Because the world doesn't revolve around you, perhaps?

>better fuel economy
>shorter stopping distance
>not in a hurry, just enjoying the drive
>Towing a trailer or hauling a load

The most dangerous part of driving is difference in speed. If your car cannot manage 55mph, you shouldn't be on the freeway. And if you're doing at least the limit, you shouldn't leave the first or second lane.

>inb4 wahhh second lane
The second lane is better for slow moving traffic because it doesn't cause issues with merging traffic. The right lane should really only be used if you're getting off soon, or getting on.

>better fuel economy
>not in a hurry, just enjoying the drive
Ironic because that's selfish as fuck.
>shorter stopping distance
Don't follow so close, retard.
>Towing a trailer or hauling a load
Get the fuck out of the left lane then.

I actually agree with drive slow for better fuel economy. I do 80km/h in a 100 zone in the middle lane in my twin turbo because it's the only way to get below 10L/100k (above 23mpg)

I still chop the outside lane to do a fat pull every so often tho

As long as you're not in the outside lane it doesn't bother me. It is selfish if you slow everyone else down just to save yourself 5c of gas though.

I only choose to drive below the speedlimit when trying to save some fuel when I'm running very low.
Any other time, I'm driving a little bit over the speedlimit

There is literally no reason why a wide multi lane highway should have speed limits.

i've never not gone at least 10 over the limit in my fucking life and i've never gotten a ticket AMA

Are you white, middle aged and drive a beater?

>better fuel economy
>wasting hundreds of peoples time and making them late for work because you can't pay for fucking fuel

>only 10 over
Fucking casuals. I've done 15 over straight past a state trooper.

I could understand putting a limit on the far right lane (or right two lanes if it's a fuckhueg road), but I agree that having a limit on the fast lane is counterproductive.

who else /lawabidingcitizen/ here? I drive precisely at the speed limit and 5 under at night

I live in Ontariowe, and the speed limit is about the top limit...60 kmh, 100 kmh...in fact the OPP commishiner stated in an interview a few years back that if somone chose to drive under the limit, he was all for it as 'slower speeds are safer speeds'...
In Quebec, they have posted maximums and minimums, so if you have a front plate and your over/under, your getting a ticket...

Sometimes, when there aren't other drivers around and I'm on the highway, I change lanes without signaling. And you think you're badass.

Neither my post nor the post I was replying to says anything about driving slowly in the left lane. Obviously, slower traffic keeps to the right.

>7

>being such a degenerate that you need to violate the law on a daily basis in order to get to work on time.

>other people should drive faster so I can get to work on time

If people going at or slightly below the speed limit impede your ability to get to work on time, try pulling your head out of your ass and matching your schedule to the actual laws that are in place.

I rarely even drive below the speed limit myself, I just am entertained by attempting to point out idiotic arguments.

>drive 5mph below the speed limit all the time
>don't have to worry about switching lanes or avoiding any cars since I am not going faster than anyone else
>frees me up to eat, play on phone, etc.
>blood pressure always at a minimum
>mfw seeing roid rage cucks all day losing their shit because they'll get to their destination 1 minute later

If everyone just chilled out on the road we wouldn't have so many problems.

>he goes above 5 over
r e t a r d

enjoy that ticket though

This, just add a cannabis pen to the equation and it's even better

>car washes get autistic about truck boxes

so its not about safety then?

going 120mph is safer than playing on your phone at 60mph.

This is a giraffe-free zone m8.

All these fucking casuals baka. I go 30 over on a daily basis and cops dont give a fuck

>implying 10 over isn't the actual threshold
Even then, you can get away with more if the flow of traffic is above the limit. Also, there are stretches of road where cops physically cannot hide.

Quit defending this country's embarrassingly low speed limits.

I usually stick with 10 above the speed limit
Tons of cars fly by me

> Be in New Zealand
> Do course so I can get my license quicker
> Delivery van driver doing it because accident
> U-turned in main road
> Hit cyclist
> Stopped
> . . .
> Said Sorry
> Drove off

Coconuts...

A collective of autism, actually.

even in commiefornia in the fagarea everyone routinely does 10-20 over the speed limit and cops don't give a fuck because its the norm

>mfw cucks think that the speed limit matters when there are no cops or speed traps around
I never received a speeding ticket btw, I'm not retarded.

>tfw police literally hiding in bushes to catch people speeding

not in my first world country, must be a United States of Mexico thing.

>not drawing them on your front wing

do you even fighter plane

>handbrake turns in his FF shitbox in the winter
>in the winter
get on my level pleb, I handbrake turn every corner that's more than 90 degrees

that's pretty dumb though, and this is coming from a europoor.
so rich people get off easy, that's a real shame, but you can combat that by not being poor :^)
