Ain't no replacement for displacement

>ain't no replacement for displacement

why is America so tied to their push rods and V8 when they are so full of fail?

>80s
Thanks EPA
And nice straw man

But the bus you ride has even worse HP/L figures.

I hate being that guy but a cam, intake, carb, and headers and you can bolt on a hundred horsepower in an afternoon. I know we're talking stock for stock but how many are stock after 30+ years anyway.

Because volumetric efficiency is too big a word to understand let alone master.

P.S. It's amazing how expensive E30's and S13 engines are. Who would be buying at that price?

From now on, in just replying to these shit posts with random images.

Just don't respond. Everybody knows the 80s engines were choked to hell and back stock. If you must respond, use sage to not bump the thread.

bump

*S14

the E30 M3 comes with an S14

and as for who would be buying it? Collectors. Its not that crazy. There are more people with serious $$$$$ on this earth than you think

In 1980 there was a turbo option for the Firebird, made 210 horse which was better than any other V8 of the time.

Also, our V8s, for the same weight and volume as many shitty 4 bangers and 6 cylinders, make 2-3x more horsepower and actually sound good.

>American Engineering Ladys and gentlemen
Today they hired hundreds of german engineers to produce cars which are not completly shit

you picked the shittyist example for that saying

You dumb fuck, have you ever heard of the EPA? All American cars had their nuts chopped off after 72, and we can thank those retarded liberals who just love to bitch without knowing anything close to amount you'd need to order to complain about literally any topic.

I love when neets argue about what world class engineers decide

The was these threads go you'd almost think it was illegal in Europe to modify your engine

Is it?

Torque is an engine's actual power. Horsepower is applied torque, basically torque multiplied by RPMs. American engines just don't rev high, they redlined at around 3000RPMs.

That is the problem.

Wheel torque is what matters and horsepower will get better wheel torque.

Yeah, if they're allowed to do it at all they have to get special permits that cost more money on top of the already high base fees then additional fees for "high displacement" engines which is like over 2 liters (lol) and they still have to meet emissions when they're inspected (regularly) and if they're found to have unlicensed modifications at an inspection or even a traffic stop they get bigass fines and can have their cars impounded or even destroyed.

American freedoms are a real thing it's basically the only place in the world where most people can both afford to own a rwd manual v-8 car and also be allowed to let it breathe right.
