Back in the 60s Mex Guvmint went full protectionist mode and made it so only cars produced in country were profitable to sell. Pretty much every automaker fucked off save for Ferd, Chrysler, VW and Nissan who actually built factories in-country. There were a few great models made here but 80% of it was UMA DELĂCIA tier.
Subaru only started offering their vehicles officially in Mexico this year. Previously they were imported privately.
