You have 5 seconds to name the most fun car you can get for $2k

Volvo 245 with a LS swap

E30, rx7, miata, camero, mustang, 240, supra, celica, salvage titles and cars that are smashed but drive fine open up a world of possibilities too. Then start looking at trucks, suvs, jeeps. If you have patience and arnt afraid to get your hands dirty you can have alot of fun for 2grand.

1500 dollar e30 bought in may. Good running project. Fun enough for me.

...

Yeah but what mods?
Be specific,please.
Trying to get the best bang for the buck.

Where I live you can't find one under $3500 without problems.

*spins down a cliff*

a gutted rwd manual old ass 3 series and a trailer to cart it to and from the track.

Anything with a manual transmission
Better to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow

I don't know where you think you can find all that for 2k.

Mid 90's Mustang

move on to the other

CVPI

Your mom, the cheapest but most fun ride of your life

I bought a 1999 Mazda 626 with a 5 speed and the 4 pot, salvage title, running perfectly for $200.
It has pretty bad front end damage but I just thrash the fuck out of it on some ATV/dirtbike tracks by my house and it's fun as fuck.
Not quite related but thought this was a good place to possibly inspire my br/o/s

How's the reliability on those? I see a ton on craigslist under $2k, as well as some Camaros.
Which would be better between the two?

holy fuck i love this copypasta

at least a dozen MY ~2000 3 series around me for under $2k. even more if you include 5 series. couple hundred on a shitty trailer and youre good to go. can probably recoup some of the cost selling interior bits you strip out too.

>a fucking RABBIT has better trigger discipline than Kilmer

camaro literally always, as much as i genuinely love those mustangs

What's a good price on good-to-go 90s Camaros these days?
I see a bunch for under $3k but I have a feeling they're all fucked.

Only ones around here regularly under 3 grand are V6s, typically with a lot of miles.
I'd definitely pay $3500-4000 for a decent, lower miles one. Maybe a bit more for a 98+ with the LS1.
Pic related is apparently what NADA says about a very plain 1998 SS with 130k.

Oh and the reason I so heavily suggest the Camaro is because of the powerplant.
LT1 always made way more power stock than the 4.6, and it's way easier and way cheaper to push more power out of them. And don't even get me started on the LS1.
The 4.6 is a great, reliable motor and the SN95 Mustangs are great cars (albeit the pre-new edge interior is bar none the worst interior I've ever seen irl) but they can't compare to the 4th gen Camaros when it comes to bang for buck.
