Problem with China is sadly that you cannot connect your land properly because they got a capital state in the middle.

How does one add something similiar to development in EU3? There's no mana, so what cost/resource would be appropriate for continous development of provinces?

Nope. I go to the maximum possible extent my country could reach, with all their historical colonies and/or aesthetic additional colonies if I feel they're justified and once I've reached that extent I solely war for partitionments, fund the side I want to win in wars, and if I'm playing EU4 fund rebels in foreign governments too.

Vicky 2 should slowely switch to this combat during the 19th century. If only paradox could make a last dlc adressing this and make great wars truely great and horrific. Or give the source code to modders but this will never happen. ;_;
