No, they've been called Asians for decades, it has nothing to do with East Asians. If you say Asian to a Brit they think Indian/Pakistani/Arab, they do not think Chinese.

I don't believe that, because it's the same everywhere, just with different words. For example, in France, they use the word "youths" to refer to Muslim criminals, even when they're well in their 30s. In Sweden, they tend to change their names to a Swedish one and to color their skin white. In the US, Hispanics will tend to be considered whites for the purpose of statistics. It IS a conspiracy.

This is a Euro thing, the asians most commonly known in Europe were Indians (including pakis), while in America the most common type of asian was Chinks. Neither is more "correct" than the other, both are, in fact, types of asians.
