Deck out car with radar detector/ LIDAR jammer

I'm a Texas resident and am done with tickets. My foot isn't getting lighter so I'm not slowing down.
I drive a BMW 335i and have been racking them up through the years.

I'm done trusting my eyes because the cops in these small towns wait for the day some one living hours away comes through for easy money.

What radar detectors/LIDAR Jammers do you recommen as well as anything else plate covers to a police scanner in the car?

I'm planning on the Valentine1 as well as the AntiLaser Priority.

Thanks for anything and everything Veeky Forums

LIDAR Jammer is illegal in Texas just to let you know

Class C misdemeanor.

quit breaking the law, asshole

Scanner and CB also help. Commercial vehicles can't have radar detectors so they mostly rely on CBs. I've been told the Waze app as well but there aren't enough people around here to make it useful.

Valentine 1 or escort 360 are good

But I will tell you this

You will get a ticket if not careful these things are not fool proof and only serve as a warning given the right conditions.

For example if you are on the highway and a police man is anproaching or idle up ahead with his radar blasting you are ok slow down

If it's off and he sees you approaching or he is approaching you he will just ambush you when he's in range with his gun off.

LIDAR is 100% illegal and will get you a hefty fine.

So are all motor vehicle citations in Texas.

What are rules if they aren't meant to be broken.
I have the BMW legacy to live up to

How long have you lived in Texas, M8?

Just trying to keep the BMW dick reputation around

I understand that they don't prevent I'm just using these as a supplemental driving aid (-:

is there any other device recommendations or thing to outfit my car with?

A clear plate cover?

Would a police scanner be worth it?

About 4 years, since I started university

You need to go back.

That was the plan caption (-:

fuck u

>light jamming is illegal
Lol Texas is such a cuck state just like Virgina

Tell me about it. All citations in Texas are C misdemeanor minimum too

>LIDAR Jammers do you recommen
Doesn't the government try to track purchases from those sellers?

Uniden R3, AntiLaser Priority

Do some research on and possibly join rdforum.org, there's a lot of really simple dumbass mistakes you'll make if you aren't completely informed. I don't know of any other community that's more helpful and fully-informed than RDF.

They'll make sure your install is set up correctly to jam dragoneye guns (you're going to need a 5 head + 1 transmit head for the rear ALP system) which are a huge threat in Texas.

The V1 is OK but old as fuck, don't buy anything from Escort, they can't filter false alerts to save their asses. Uniden R3 is the best choice but you'll have to wait a little while because they're on backorder from legitimate retailers.

Don't take the advice of the people on here who 99% own rustbucket civics with $25 cobra shitty ass detectors and know nothing about anything. Go to RDF, fo real

No. They don't care, and they need a warrant to get information like that. A judge isn't going to give them a warrant to passively monitor people that "may" be committing a crime.

Thanks

In my state, buying one and accepting delivery is a crime. Possession is a separate crime from buying one. Usage is a separate crime and can be a felony if there is an officer headed to a call as opposed to just randomly cruising around. This distinction is important to you because it is the difference between gross misdemeanor and felony. But since police on the freeway are almost always heading to a call, your charge is probably a felony in my state.

>My foot isn't getting lighter so I'm not slowing down.

Get a Polo Bluemotion with the 1.0L 3 cylinder diesel.
No more tickets.

The USPS does keep a profile for each address. You might even think of it as a "credit rating number" but instead of credit rating it is a "suspicion rating". Thus, shipments from certain sources heading to certain destinations can have a higher chance of being diverted during shipment for more extensive checking such as custom xray scanning or even opening for inspection.

The trick is in using it without being seen. My state has a website with various report pages. One of them is a snitch on people using illegal gear page. So I don't want other drivers seeing what I have and snitching.

>1.0L 3 cylinder diesel.
That sounds kind of scary right there.

>LIDAR is 100% illegal and will get you a hefty fine.

How can they detect it?

Not adding anything to the thread except for this anecdote:

Texas DPS Trooper once got me with his LIDAR from 1,180 feet away, on top of a bridge, in the dark, with heavy traffic, instantly.

To me, the only thing scarier than the detector's LIDAR "screech" while I'm speeding - would be a ticked-off Texas Trooper doing a walk-around on my car looking for a Jammer.

Fuck that.

Also, go back where you came from, boy.

We don't like your kind 'round 'ere.

Why? It's just a bit slow for a small car. But trucks and vans are slower.

Idiots that run their jammers all the way to the gun. The way you're supposed to do it is brake hard but obviously not full ABS or you're an idiot, and kill the jammers ASAP. Almost all of them (ALP is really the only relevant one) have auto kill timers which you should set to 4 seconds, max 5 if you're retarded. Always brake immediately, and kill the jammers ASAP. Police LiDAR sometimes has a delay for various reasons and they won't think much of a 4 second jam time 99% of the time.

Police can't shoot you with laser while they're running an emergency call, dumbass.

Fuck Refugio, Texas.
Done working 12 hours a day for 10 days straight and sine worthless cop wants to ticket me in his shitty speed trap town when I'm trying to go home to Houston

He is not holding it in his hand when he is in the car. The computer runs it. There is a dome thing on top of his chevy suv roof that does it. My city cops have 2 or 3 little dome things on the roofs of some of their vehicles.

At least the vehicles are manned. Some companies are already selling unmanned self-driving robot vehicles. They scan for plates, trespassing, and speeders. It'll be quite something once the USA allows autonomous cars on the road. If the police can have autonomous cars to do basic patrolling, that would be great. My police wanted to field drones for patrolling as it is much cheaper and they cover a lot of area with their look down and computer scanning. But anti-discrimination activists immediately complained and filed lawsuits to block it. So the police can only, for now, use drones to map out crime scenes AFTER a crime has occurred. Discrimination suits keep the police from using them even for chases. So absurd these BLM activists. Everything looks like racism to them.

Brotip: You're not going to be able to simply buy a useful radar jammer. LIDAR allegedly can be jammed with auto braking or backup warning systems, so you could look into installing one of those plus extra lasers for plausible deniability.

OP if you want an ultra cheap radar detector, you could set up a SDR + Downconverter + craigslist laptop connected to aux.

>Not installing a fiberglass bodykit and putting your detector under that then connecting it to your speakers and door lights for ultimate stealth
How can you even call yourself an enthusiast?

>Being afraid of Texas cops

Louisiana and Arkansas cops are crooked and not afraid to flaunt that they're paid off.

They can only act that way if they know the judges are either on the take or subject to influence peddling. It's much like those older crime gang days when many cops were on the payroll of organized crime. Witnesses, including anonymous ones, couldn't be protected because both their identity and location would be leaked by dishonest cops or dishonest staff in the government.

somehow in CA lidar jamming isnt illegal

fuck you and the police state

If you don't think the law is the moral right that ought to be unconditionally followed why don't you use your freedoms to do something about it?

You're right. Armed revolution is the solution. I can only hope this society continues to decline into ruin and incite the apathetic masses to bring some change.

>fuck you and the police state
That's what the BLM says all the time. It's why they are against any kind of law enforcement changes at the city council meetings.

Increase jail cells??
BLM says No, reduce number of jail cells so that arrested people are automatically released. That also prevents long jail terms as there is no place to house prisoners. Ideally, there are no jail cells.
.
More police officers to handle crimes?
No, reduce police force. The less arrests performed the less racism there is.

>I can only hope this society continues to decline into ruin
That is what happened in Detroit and other places when people like took control of city council votes. We'll start to see the decline in 2042 when the two minorities of black and mexican become the majority. Social welfare costs will be higher and those who work AND have a net tax contribution will see the deficit continue to rise because the taxes are not enough to pay off the interest on the deficit AND have social services at the same time.

not as long as the bread and circuses are maintained, user

Yes it is fuckwit.

No, you have no fucking idea what you're talking about. Stop spreading bullshit. There is not a police LiDAR system on EARTH that can be used from a moving vehicle. Only radar. Stop being a dipshit, thanks.

>BMW 335i
>Texas

Oh look, OP is this autistic cumfuck

youtube.com/watch?v=aApiolM62J4&feature=youtu.be

There's more than one 335i in texas

Please don't stereotype all of us from the more vocal retards on here.

>you have no fucking idea what you're talking about.
Singapore was going to purchase some robots for testing. If it works out, they will buy more.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LIDAR_traffic_enforcement

>Stop spreading bullshit.
Historically, people who keep using the word "impossible" get proven wrong. In roman times, a noted engineer said something similar to "everything that can be invented has been invented". In the early 1900's, someone in the usa patent office said something similar. Just because you don't know of it, doesn't mean other people also cannot know of it.

>There is not a police LiDAR system on EARTH that can be used from a moving vehicle.
You were right if you remained in the old days. But you and I are not posting in 2004's Veeky Forums. Since then, police have equipped themselves with mobile LiDAR. Various different companies have gone further with their own patents for scanning LiDAR which can scan multiple vehicles simultaneously and register all of them just like you see in video game footage. Science fiction has become reality. Google has its own LiDAR patents because autonomous driving also extensively uses LiDAR to track the speed of other cars. The Google car knows if your approaching it or leaving it and a speed even though the google car is moving.

Here is an older patent with explanation for multiple object scanning LiDAR. Well beyond simple LiDAR for scanning an object from a moving police vehicle, this allows the police to scan a bunch of cars at the same time.

Makes you wonder what platoon level military armament is headed towards with autonomous soldiers.

>those who work AND have a net tax contribution will see the deficit continue to rise because the taxes are not enough to pay off the interest on the deficit AND have social services at the same time.

But user that's already happened like 20 years ago.....

>Please don't stereotype all of us from the more vocal retards on here.
They'll post whatever it takes to derail law and order arguments for proper law enforcement of automobile laws. The ones that fear the laws allowing LiDAR and robotic scanning the most in my city are the minorities. After all, they're the ones that filed discrimination lawsuits to try stopping robot scanners, plate scanners, automated scanners in police vehicles, and citizenship checks when citations are issued.

>Makes you wonder what platoon level military armament is headed towards with autonomous soldiers.
It'd be interesting if autonomous sniper guns were dropped and allowed to secure a hot zone before the soldiers came in.

All these liberal cucks telling you not to get it because its illegal lmao

LIDAR jammers seem like a good idea, until you've used a LIDAR.

Acquisition and speed reading are nearly instantaneous and can be done from long distances, if HP is hiding with his LIDAR and can't get a lock on you, he's going to know you're using a jammer and he'll pull you over anyway, then he'll use the lack of LIDAR lock as probable cause to search your vehicle for a jammer. Then you'll be really fucked. If you're going to speed and you're shit at spotting cops, suck it up and pay the tickets.

>55mph limits

1980 was almost 40 years ago, only big rigs through major municipalities have double nickel limits

Then why dont you hydroplane on a small puddle and smash into a median? Thats the most important BMW legacy

>Using jammers
>2017
Degenerate as fuck

>he'll use the lack of LIDAR lock as probable cause
That's not sufficient grounds.
Stick to your rights. You do not consent to a search.
Remember not to open your door because that is grounds to allow a search in some cases.
The officer may not have the right to search your vehicle, but he can ask or tell you things to manipulate you into then providing him the legal ability to search.
It's like when officers visit your home. They cannot come in or detain or arrest you as long as you remain inside the threshold. They may ask you to step outside to talk to you and as soon as you walk out, they arrest you legally. That is an example of manipulating the subject into leaving his legal protection. Once arrested, that is itself enough probably cause to obtain an administrative search warrant. So you see how this is like a snowball rolling down the hill. The snowball would never have rolled until you stepped out of your castle.

Don't forget that officers do have the right to search the vehicle in the immediate vicinity of the driver for "officer safety".

it's not really an issue unless you run the jammer like an idiot. you have to hit a reflective surface of the car (front centre mass if grille is sufficiently reflective, front license plate, one of the headlights or tailights, or rear license plate). the beam is so narrow it's normal for it to take 4-5 seconds to lock. what you do is set your radar detector to auto cooldown after 4-6 seconds so it just detects the LIDAR instead of jamming it, or you flip the power switch.

if you run your jammer nonstop and he can't get a lock after 8 seconds, then the cop is going to know something is wrong.

>radar detector to auto cooldown
meant LIDAR jammer. my radar detector is part of my LIDAR jamming system hence why I brainfarted.

>2017
>Not covering your car in faceted surfaces and RAM

OP probably measures safe following distance in millimeters.

If there are lots of bridges over freeways, they can just install multi-car scanning LiDAR on the bridge. It can scan a whole bunch of cars continuously all day long. It can issue tickets 1000x times faster than any police officer who can only do one car at a time.

My van will do a 15s quater and i run it on the limiter at ~95-100 most days. Im doing $79 to upgrade to brand new valintine 1 previously i was running a passport escort. You need to be knowledgeable with your equipment and the the tactics of local leos. Overall not speeding is the only way to avoid all tickets and detectors are just a crutch. Be prepared to accept the conequencess of you actions. Jammers are a felony in newyork and i wont be running one unless my local leos are running alot more laser.
