I haven't played that much matches in that tank. It is completely stock, hence the dumb equipment and AP only ammunition. I wanted to get the hang of it first, but damn. It just works. I don't know. I feel pretty confident in that thing.

spg missions are really easy now with the arty rework

Different user here, trying it in my Grille, but unable to do SPG-15. Is it just not possible at t5 or am I doing something wrong?

Your options are to get a Leo 1 or a Leopard, the tier 5

does grille have stun? the other nations only get stun at t6 (apart from bongs)
obviously you want an arty with stun and the higher the tier the better, those missions arent really meant to be completed by tier 5 tanks
just get a hummel or switch lines so you dont end in a dead end after gw panther

unfortunately the leo t5 has a radio operator instead of a gunner

Actually RU/US lines get t5 stuns as well, only the frogs and bongs don't get T5 stun. I was planning on switching to US arties but I don't like playing arty anyway.

Frog tier V arty is literally a worst version of the Tier IV anyways

part of the problem is that when its a tier 6 or 7 game, the combined HP of each team is only 6-9k. when i do get put into t8, the 4 round drum fucks me over because everyone has so much more HP.

also its like i have to make the choice whether i passive scout or do damage. what i need is a game where i get 2k spots on malinovka and then shit all over low hp T8 heavies

So how do the different nations arty's differ?

I get that each nation has a general archtype like germans it's high health, aim time and accuracy, soviets have high armor high damage high pen low accuracy, americans are balanced etc.

Do their arty's follow this at all?

brit arty: good
american arty: ok
russian arty: bad
german arty: bad

Alpha is dominated by USA and RU at most tiers, though German arties have good alpha.
French and UK arties have high RoF, and also good accuracy.
RU and USA arties generally have better arcs than other nations, though German low tier arties have good arcs, T5/7 USA don't, and the T9/10 RU arties don't.
French arties don't get stun until t6, UK arties don't get stun until t7 top gun.
