That being said, are there any classes that excel at AoE damage? I've been told there are a lot of tower defense-type situations in this game and those are the things I most enjoy doing. What would yall suggest?

When it comes to defending a spot, Diev is king of king of the hill. Sapper is also made to do that, but honestly not nearly as effective. At least its improving with rebalance

1. On the final day of the reset event, you reset every single one of your characters.
2. Don't use any of the cards obviously. None. Leave class choices open.
3. Take a 2 month break from the game.
4. Come back once all meta's have been sorted.
5. Reroll all characters into good builds.
6. Enjoy the game with a market full of cheap as fuck purple HG weapons.
No surprises. No need to buy 900$ resets. No need to hunt anything and no need to deal with day one bugs / issues / slowdowns. You get 2 months of lovely summer to enjoy without slaving away in TOS.
