>take 15 year old japanese family car >spend a few hundred dollars on bolt ons >get 1800bhp from a 1.8L engine >run the 1/4 mile in 7.9 seconds at 185mph >world record holder for the 1/4 mile
When did you realise that Japanese automotive engineering is the best in the world? Even shit like the $3 million Shitgatti Chiron couldn't come close to this, and retarded American crap with massive engines like the Hellcat, Viper and Corvette would get absolutely raped by it.
That's cool and all, but does it have misfaiaringu shisutemu?
Ryder Watson
>evo with a turbo the size of a watermelon >thinking 8 seconds is fast for the quarter mile >meanwhile 1.9 diesel Ibizas with some forged internals and an upgraded turbo are getting 9 seconds
*about $20,000 in high performance accessories +countless hours in specialized labour
Just a slight oversight, I'm sure that's what OP meant. I'm sure he wasn't being a dumb niggerfaggot on purpose.
Asher James
>Evo >family car
kek. I hope you save up enough for one some day and realize how wrong you were.
Enjoy your financial disaster

>being a dumb niggerfaggot on purpose this.

wow great thread OP
Jayden Scott
>mitsu lancer evo >japanese family car
Hudson Garcia
>just 9 seconds that is slow as fuck
eurocuck gonna cuck
Angel Edwards
That's a lot of rpm! But seriously though a supra can run faster with a stock diff/Irs/axles.
Tyler Flores
Nippon cars are a fucking meme. You can't compare a drag racer to a standard road car, you fucking mongrel.
Bentley Cooper
>a few simple mods

That engine will probably have a life expectancy of 10,000 miles before it starts needing a rebuild. How can you expect manufacturers to do this?
Elijah Powell
>10000 miles More like 10. Also the powerband would be absolutely abysmal for driving anywhere but a drag strip. Still amazing though.

>Be BMW >Take an engine with a basic architecture that's 20 years old >Pee on the engine blocks >Spend a few hundred dollars >Bolt a turbo on there >Get 1500hp from a 1500cc engine >Don't run 1/4 mile because dragracing belongs in >Win the F1 world championship >Three decades before it took some Japanese faggots 250K USD to go fast in a straight line
When did you realise that European engineering is superior?
Leo Price
>That engine will probably have a life expectancy of 10,000 miles "It's only got to last a mile"
>spend a few hundred dollars on bolt ons Parts in japan's car mod shops (see picture) are much more expensive than in the USA. So it won't be just a few hundred dollars. At least there are large mod parts shops in Japan. I can't find anything similar in my major west coast metro area which consists of several major large cities and lots of populated suburb cities with factories, ports, rail, and more. All the shops are small compared to the ones in Japan.
Jackson Baker
>>take 15 year old japanese family car And how much is left of it? Half the thing is fibreglass by now. >>spend a few hundred dollars on bolt ons Last time I checked, a rotating assembly wasn't a bolton. >>get 1800bhp from a 1.8L engine So did BMW in the 1980's, boost is a wonderful thing. Also, they clearly said 1700hp. >>run the 1/4 mile in 7.9 seconds at 185mph Not exactly impressive when there's FWD racecars going faster than that. >>world record holder for the 1/4 mile World record holder at what? Evos? Not exactly impressive if you're only competing amongst transverse AWD shitboxes. There are RWD street-driven drag cars that pull 6s.
>When did you realise that Japanese automotive engineering is the best in the world? It was built in Greece. A bankrupt Euro shithole makes your precious Nip shitboxes go faster, let that sink in.
>Comparing stock to built Wew lad.
Anthony Murphy
I still can't get over the "block seasoning" part. Like they just fucking left it outside and pissed on it, the absolute madmen.
Thomas Fisher
What part? I'm pretty sure there's some major Summit stores in Cali.

meanwhile an ancient car that has more in common with a wagon used on the Oregon Trail than a modern car with a few simple mods and a bodykit runs 5s while being street legal
Dominic Hernandez
way more than 20 grand in parts WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more
Other nice quotes from this article: >“It must have been around 1,400 horsepower; we don’t know for sure because the dyno didn’t go beyond 1,280 horsepower.” >For qualifying, the BMW engine ran with 5.5 bars of boost. (80PSI) >You’d open the throttle at the entry to the corner only to get the power at the exit. [...] The lag was about one or two seconds. >At the Mexican GP, Berger reported wheelspin in 6th gear at 345 km/h.
It's more street legal than what OP posted. If it can do 1000 miles, it qualifies as a streetable car.
Benjamin Cruz
>Destroked engine - 1800cc Not only did they replace displacement, they reduced it as well. Redneck physics BTFO
>Redneck physics A redneck could accomplish the same thing with a sbc for 25% of the cost. That why rednecks win wars.
Joseph Morris
Luckily drag racing is so boring you would give up before that. point.

slow piece of shit, I could smoke the fuck out of it with my '06 Evo IX with a few simple mods >engine kit >destroked engine >CNC 91mm turbo w/carbon fiber wheel >970mpa alloy rods >970mpa alloy pistons >tungsten billet crankshaft >titanium valves >beryllium seats >Emperor sticker >stage 4 cylinder upgrade >stage 4 asymmetric cams >discontinued JoJo front end >etc, etc.
I'm making 2000+ hp to ALL WHEELS because that's the only place the power should ever be.
Jacob Gutierrez
You can go to NRE, and ask for a 2000hp crate engine for less than 40K. I doubt these Greeks managed to build this Evo for less than 200K.
That car is street legal, and has logged a lot more street miles than most weekend cars do. Headlights, taillights, license plate, registration, insurance, it's got it all.
Dylan Hernandez
>At the Mexican GP, Berger reported wheelspin in 6th gear at 345 km/h. The absolute madman.

>a car like that >street legal in the EU AHAHAHAHA
And those miles were obviously logged before being modified, dimwit.
Blake Reyes
Street legal in the US, which is still street legal.
Acshually, it made some 1000 mile trips during several Drag Weeks.
Cooper Kelly
It's street legal in the U.S. No one cares about Europe's 3rd world policy on making cars street legal.
Anthony Rodriguez
