Melvie is a legit good card and you should run 2 of them.
Also run hot-blooded ritual, just gnome isn't enough.
As a general rule: if you want to run big guy you shouldn't run other earthrite cards since they do not sinergize at all with him, and get arriet instead for the meme 20 damage on face on turn 7.
