Wii U can actually get lobbies going because Wii U players actually post status updates in the thread. Switch players just join the lobby and never post any updates so lobbies stay at 2/12 for hours.

As it stands, no. I hope that comes with the app. I also hope they get rid of friend codes by then and allow you to add people right in the game or search them in the app.

I thought they'd learn by now. I sincerely hope they have.

One of the things I don't like about the Switch. It's too minimalistic. They took all the things that was alright with the Wii U (the messaging, community, etc) and just omitted it entirely. It might be added to that phone app later, but going on my phone and signing in and all that junk is just repetitive. There's nothing you can do that has anything to do with the community other than see what your friends are playing and being able to post your screenshots on Twitter. Don't fix it if it isn't broken.

Strange sounds like they just went backwards with the online on Switch, and now they want people to pay for it. They had made so many leaps when it comes to online on the Wii U (being able to send friend requests via IDs, being able to message people,miiverse) and it just sounds like they threw all that out the window.

I can see why they removed Miiverse, though. They'd prefer people to post stuff about their games on Twitter instead of their own echo chamber so people without a Switch can see them. Bit of free advertising.

I dunno, maybe he didn't see a reason to buy a game he had already played for like 3000 hours on Wii U. Most people who played here on Wii U probably feel that way.

One of the main reasons why we're not gonna see a lot of the old regulars return, I reckon.

The other reason being that a Switch isn't worth having yet to a lot of people.
