that little joint could get crusty if grit and grime gets in there, but it's not like your engine is about to seize or any other sort of critical failure.

Took the MSF advanced riders course today, as it is required by the military. Learned the 696 can fucking divebomb into corners/swerves, had a blast ripping it around cones. Engine definitely didn't like lugging behind everyone who was going super slow, but it was good practice.

Not yet, it's a BMW. The engine outlasts the rest of the bike usually.
Might need to look at another end-drive though and new calipers, master cylinder, valve covers, handle bar controls and exhaust.

Change the sprockets. And 6000 is still half the rev range. Thats normal.
Torque is nice. Its obviously different from 600 to 1000cc and 4cyl vs twin.
