sgm is a vanilla cop mod, coc uses a modified cop engine so some things behave differently, i can look into it but i doubt it will help

also separating mark and recall doesn't change code complexity, it's just a matter of making a new item and move the use_functor lines to it

maybe i could try making separate artifacts, to mark just drop the Mark artifact so there is an actual object (with id) but then there' still the same problem of the engine unloading stuff when changing map

Made a whole playthrough on vanilla myself, having to land multiple headshots despite using armor penetrating ammo was annoying, especially vs. monoliths.

You should see CoC as a base game like the series itself and smack some mods onto it.

What I meant is if there's enough addons to pile onto it to make it fun.
Last I checked up on Stalker in general was fresh after CoC's release where there weren't even any weapon addons for it.

Yeah, just visit the moddb page and check the addons tab, tons of stuff to make it good. Even a damage modifier that makes 9x18/19 viable.

I don't get the sandbox appeal either. Most of the time I'm just running around doing random jobs, killing mutans, selling pieces and going deeper into pripyat. I think there are enough mods that add jobs, tasks, main missions, just too lazy to sort them out, most of them aren't stable either.
Guess it's different for everyone and you can customize your own version of it as you please.

Why would you double your supplies on a hunting mission if it doesn't involve stalking the target, you should carry less because you are actually busy running. Even if you are shooting it from afar, it will spot and chase you.

Yeah, my main issue as well. Obviously, do the Story mode first. Then do another save(s) with DoctorX's Questlines. For third, it could be a Zombie Survival run with forced Ironman. Last but not least, you might try to come up with interesting starting scenarios.

Afternoon guys, I just started Shadow of Chernobyl the other day and I posted in the other general thread about the Nimble mission taking forever. I've gotten the hang of it mostly and now I made it to Rostok, but I'm still wondering if the aiming gets any better. I've mainly been using the AK-74 and the TRs as well as a UDP Compact for my pistol, and it's still a dice roll to land a headshot or any shot at all this far into the game. I've been doing as much as I could from what the guides tell me, I'm playing on master, I'm SHIFT+CTRL crouching, I have my rifles on single fire or 3 round burst, etc. Do the later weapons get any better, especially with scopes, or do I just suck?

Get a scope for your AK asap, it'll make headshots a lot easier.

If you are any good with shooters, you can pretty much just hip fire with pistols and adjust to headshots, same with automatic guns that have shit sights, shit accuracy from the hip but you should have enough ammo anyway to spray along until you hit the heads consistently.

are you using any mods? on vanilla theres a 50% chance that the bullet will disappear after it leaves the barrel and on lower difficulties the chance of it disappearing is even higher
