??? suggestions

Other than allocating more memory for the game to use, there isn't much you can do.

First for pretty ships

>Nomads
>trash
explain

>be frigate/carrier
>see capital
>I´ll just stay out of rang-
I am become Death, Destroyer of meta

I can actually confirm that Nomads is trash.
Apart from the fact that most of the hull mods seem to just be non-functional, there's also the part where basically every ship has 90+% pre-installed weapons and costs virtually nothing to deploy.

too slow to stay out of range. It's not even like you have SO

>not having ITU

I don't get why people like this

are you gay or something

Because they have nothing else.

No, just my girl doesn't need to cosplay as ships or something to get me hard

it makes fapping to ships easier

>I like ship/gun/whatever
>I like girls too
>but what if X was girl?
I mean maybe things like kancolle are too much for my taste but It´s not rocket science.

I want to lick her boots

Is there any reason not to use to black market 100% of the time?

I don't get it, because half the time even at "extreme" they don't even try to intercept me when I leave, and when they do they just get salty and then let me go.

I would think that if they find my 500 illegally bought fuel they would try to confiscate it and then you get a fight or run prompt, but it doesn't happen

Fuel isn't an illegal commodity for any of the factions. Sure, you avoid tariffs (which means cheap supplies), but it'll destabilise the market - at which point prices for both the black and open market will plummet. It's fine for just getting supplies and not returning for a couple months, but you don't want to do that to your homebase with 9 stability that you offload all your expensive weapons, ships and surveys to.

Sometimes you may get -5 rep. I don't know if it will ever get much worse than this.

You lose a little bit of rep with factions for smuggling which starts to add up if you aren't running quests for them

But that's not Conquest-chan.

what's the biggest independent military station / planet?

How do you pronounce Hegemony?

HEJ-uh-moh-nee,
or
hi-JEM-uh-nee?

HEJ uh moh nee

What's a good build for the tempest that doesn't involve SO?

Should I make everything autofire for AI ships?

I'm kind of noticing they tend to not shoot weapons for literally no reason, it's like they're timid about using the ammo even though they're going die if they don't shoot

Do you actually control your ship in combat or do you just watch the events unfold? I'm a huge fan of the former so if so I think I might buy this game. I love these kinds of games.

The former, plus you can give orders

>Winning flux duels against capital ships

Feels good man

...

Do want

What does it say about your faction if one of your mascot ships can be bought from a pirate bay?
Considering how critical they were in founding the fucking faction you'd think that they'd keep better track of them.

fag

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH

Mistakes were made

what I saw next was not meant for mortal eyes

Colors are disgusting desu, has someone done reskins of these?

It could have been worse. It could have been 5 Moras.

>mfw overestimate my ability to go way the fuck out to the middle of nowhere for a bounty and make it back fine
>mfw get there, complete bounty, but be in the middle of buttfuck nowhere so dont get the money
>mfw run out of supplies and money
>ships falling apart the whole way back
>mfw spend all of the money on hundreds of supplies when I make it back

WHEW

I like it, it's slightly different from the normal colors but still keeps the same base look.

It would be nice for some side-grade designation

Go in a [REDACTED] area or find domain probes/ships and old installations you can scavenge.
I regularly have the opposite problem, i go to one of such systems with a third full of supplies and i find myself regularly having to jettison cargo and fuel.
I just want to save the wAIfus

Ration out 100 days worth of supplies transit wise, then compensate for the fleet deployment costs that you're expecting, leave the rest as cargo space.

I always max out on fuel, but my fleet generally just needs 4.0 supplies/day at most, so I can gauge on bounties how much supplies to take. On core farming runs you bring more supplies to adjust for consecutive fights.

>we'll never get the whole shadowyards fleet reskinned like this
mod author said he made a few alternate skins like this but they aren't used

I really, really like the more subdued colors, skin pack when?

Fucking Beautiful

What font does Starsector use for it's UI?

T H I C C
H
I
C
C

Also, what color is the text in the UI?

It wouldn't be very difficult to just alternate-hue a lot of the stuff and have it still look good, you could just implement them as Lend Lease (L), or R&D branch (R), or Advanced (A) ships, etc. etc. etc., and there you go.

Actually reskinning takes awhile(you're literally making a new ship cus pixel art) and I don't know if it's worth it unless you're doing an actual full mod

4 Moras and 5 Paragons.

Test

Result: the font doesn't match

That's an impossible fight. 5 Paragons is already like 200 deployment points. 4 Moras is like 80 or 120 or something. You'd barely have any room to deploy.

>he doesn't play on max battle size

Even with max battle size, you're never going to get just 4 Moras and 5 Paragons alone. In a 700k bounty generally there's at least 150 supply in frigates and destroyers, and enemy fleets can go up to 450 supply.

>He doesn't realise you can mod things to make it harder.

Are these things supposed to be rare? I just got 2 of them and they seem OP as shit.

You can if you want. You don't need to. Just try fighting 3 Moras with a solo Tempest. It'll be hard enough.

All Templar ships are supposed to be rare.
Funny, in the last crusade I got two Martyrs, two Jezuits and a Crusader.

Blame the new wreckage mechanics, if you go and watch a big fight you can get lots of neat stuff.
Fuck, i managed to snatch a XIV Eagle with that

Those 2 jesuits were from 1 tiny fleet. Guess I got lucky.

Nah I blame the modder, he should have made them unsalvageable like the Remnant are.

Let's be clear, you CAN just set your ships (and your own) to fight on their own.

From what i heard they are supposed to be rare salvage however the way Starsector handles Salvage drop rate is that it's universal and applies to everything that's salvagable.

Apparently one of the things for the next version of Nex is tools to help modders change that for specific ships/factions.

Over the course of watching crusades over a few playthroughs I've gotten 10 Jesuits, 10 martyrs, 5 crusaders, and a paladin.

I think that the salvage rates should be toned down significantly, but I don't think they should be removed entirely.
Half the fun for me personally when I encounter cool shit is the ability to eventually acquire it. Considering their power it definitely should be harder to acquire however.

The Remnant can't be obtained by the player ever. The Templars are supposed to be rare but usable, which the game doesn't directly support.

...

>he doesn't want a AI waifu that can methodically arrange for the greatest declaration of love by having multiple events happen in a specific way and have you realize it all at the same time in the most spectacular and amazing way

So I haven't played in a few weeks but I noticed something odd with Diable last time I was playing. Are they supposed to be neutral with pirates?

yes

What is a cycle? you anons keep talking about it. And I have no idea what it is about.

yeah in fact they actually supply them with ships
a solar cycle. a year

Huh really. That's pretty sneaky.

yeah, those blue-red mottled hulls that are diable with a (P) designation were actually made and modified by diable for sale to pirates

What's the best way to work myself up to those massive fleets you guys have? Does it take especially long?
I'm gonna do it regardless just curious about the time investment.

when you have massive fleets buying from the black market becomes problematic as patrols are capable of realizing you have cargo numbers similar than the ammount of resoures taken illegaly

since it's not confiscable, but there's enough suspicioun, you take a -5 rep hit.

say you just bought black market 4000 fuel from sindria. now you have 6 different patrols looking to inspect you. say you can't dodge them in time, -30 to rep in one go

>now you have 6 different patrols looking to inspect you. say you can't dodge them in time, -30 to rep in one go
I've never had this happen, just one patrol comes after me and I lose 5 rep or none at all depending if they're suspicious or not

happened to me, made the mistake of arriving in the most well defended system in the middle of a pirate bounty run after buying suppplies illegally

If you have no clue what you're doing it can take a bit of time. If you follow specialized paths it can be very very quick.

Transverse jump is great for evading those kinds of situations. Would highly recommend getting it.

Question, do "timid" officers go and hug the corners of the map or do they stay in the back of the group?
I know the previous version had "cautious" officers but idk now

I think all officers are pretty "coward", even the aggresive ones tend to back up a lot when shield/flux is maxing. but I dont really know if there is a big difference, I always get the aggresive ones and thats it. thats because usually my fleet compostion is a powerfull cruiser piloted by me, and then good destroyers anti small stuff like medusa or drover, and thats what my officers fly. I also use the escort thing a lot, and they do ok.

Harbinger with three Phase Lances, Safety Override and Unstable Injector is so fucking FUN

This was so fucking close, shepherd had circa 10% hp left and I didn't want to risk it so I send it away and had to solo that destroyer with a wolf... Which wasn't that bad since it was shit at handling flankers

Im the user doing the solo run (only 1 ship, no logistic, no survey, no salvage if I dont cause it) and I just found this at the station

should I? :^)

If you have three reaper typhoons you'll one shot everything with frontal shields, if you have extended missile racks you'll also take quite many ships before having to retreat.
You can also try with energy weapons, but it won't be as hilarious as this.

If you've never played with phase ships before do not do it solo. The dependence on the phase defence for defence and having absolutely no support to help you will mean very short fights if you make even a single mistake.

Has anybody ever mapped out all the good places to buy various resources at? I just use a list in notepad myself, but it's unorganized and incomplete.

...

Its not the 1st time I will fly a phase ship, dont worry. in fact in other regular run I had that exact fit: triple typhoon with extender missile racks. but that will be not good for a solo run I think, gonna try the 3 phase lances

I think its a dinamic market, so it depends. but yes, some places looks always better. Askonia always have a lot of fuel for example.

what the heck

150k at a 9 stability base

We rich now

I just sold one at tule for 300k m8, you got ripped.

>only 150k for a survey data V

It was a response to how it was so much, it was 150 per unit x90% from a stab 9 base
